I typically go to the Discount Tire at 2990 Catclaw, but there is also another location at 4585 South 1st Street. While there are several great tire shops around Abilene, the guys at Discount are professionals. I’ve had them steer me away from more expensive tires, which I thought I wanted, because those tires weren’t rated correctly for my vehicle. They would fit my vehicle, but they would have been unsafe on my car. I appreciated that, you know? Whenever I buy a car, I head over to Discount after about 6,500 miles because for $88 I can buy the lifetime tire rotation. I like “lifetime”, lol. I give them 4* only because I once had an issue at the South 1st store after they only partially refunded my money when they were unable to procure the correct Mercedes TPMS, which they said they could. Long story short, Discount Tire is a solid, worthy shop overall.

Went to Discount Tire today looking for new tires. I was approached by Adam and told him what I’m looking for and he did a great job helping me with my new tires. I highly recommend talking to Adam at Discount Tire if you are looking for new tires. I will return to discount tire if I ever need new tires again.

This particular Discount Tire is the best. The prices are great but the service is even greater.

I have been a customer with Discount tire for over 25 years and they have always treated me right. They always work with you when u need it most. Pulled in to replace a tire due to a nail before a road trip back home. Our associate, JR, was amazing. He was honest and kept us from spending unnecessary money. He even double checked our spare to ensure our trip home was safe, which was actually flat and needed some care. I highly recommend this shop and working with JR.

I had an appointment at 10:30 for balance and rotate didnt get pulled into bay until 11:15 after they spent about 10 mins looking for my keys then pulled it out 11:20. How was a balance and rotate done in 5 mins? I feel like they just checked the tire pressure and done. I will still be using Discount Tire but a different location.

Traveling from out of town, picked up a screw in my tire. Went to discount tire and saw Phil. He was very courteous and polite. Turns out it was a very short construction screw and did not puncture to the inside of the tire. Total time there was less than 5 minutes. Great!

Tristan is a wonderful Sales Asociate, he gave me a time to be there for a 4 tire replacement. I showed up at the time only this time they marshaled me in to bay 2. The Techs were on me before I could exit the bay. Tristan also gave me a time to get out of the bay and proved to be on time. I watched the Techs prepare the new tires for mounting and was elated at the professionalism displayed. Having been an old gas station jockey myself I knew what I was what I was watching. I watched them as they meticulously balanced each tire paying strict attention to each one.Am I satisfied with the professionalism displayed at Discount Tires?To say I was very impressed 👌would be an understatement. Went in yesterday morning and got a slow leak repaired. When I got off work at midnight the tire they repaired was completely flat. Will not be going back to this location.

Ordered $2300 tires last week. I was told they would be here today. I called to find out where they are and was told they would call me back. After no call back I went up there. Was told the tires wouldnt be in til Thursday or Friday of this week. Instead of helping me with tires or offering some sort of incentive to remain a customer they remained silent. Toms may not have had the Nittos I wanted in stock but offered to have them here the next day. DT lost a long term customer to Tom tires pros along with any word of mouth business.Heres some news for people with a Discount Tire(Syncrony) credit card. You can use it at Toms tire pros too.

Was SOLD Ghost Tires I guess ? Was Told that they had some in their Store in Midland & would be here at store on Clack Street next day ? Now been (3) days still No Tires

Poor experience all around. We were ok waiting since we didnt have an appointment. 3 hours later we sit and watch the tech literally rotate the tires and put our spare back on the car. We paid for a full balance and rotation. Not once did they balance the tires. They put the spare under the car after I reminded them that it was the spare. It was upside down though when under the car. My wife took off and wasnt 10 miles down the road and the car started swimming and pulling hard to the left. They never balanced the tires or check the air pressure in the tires. All the low tire sensors were still reading. So another hour of waiting for them to actually fix what we paid for. Wonder how many others pay for a full balance and rotation that dont get it?

My warning light for tire pressure came on, drive to Duscount Tire before completing my other tasks in town. The technician was professional and courteous, I was in and out quickly. I will continue buy my tires for all of my vehicles at Discount Tire as well as other tirr services I highly recommend this business.

They guys are this location somehow mixed up my wheel lock key with someone else’s. When they were fixing my tire and about to take the spare off they told me I didn’t have the right key. They handed me one that wasn’t my key and not even the same brand. They told me I was mistaken but the key I handed them was the one I used to change the tire the day before. When I called after going home on the donut they said I needed to pay Honda to make me a new one as if I was my fault they made a mistake and lost my property.

A good place for all your tire needs. Great selection from street tires to off road tires. They also have trailer tires and rims. Just make sure you deal with just one person and they will take carr of you.

We needed a tire repaired quickly at nearly closing time. Rather than grumble about the inconvenience oof our request, the salesman quickly had our vehicle in a bay and being fixed. After going inside for rotate & balance I asked how long he said an hour and a half.I waited outside for 20 minutes at leastfor finally someone came out to get my miles and check will you ask me what I needed after Id already told the other guy would I was there for.anyway I said well you could at least came out and told me especially after he said hour and 45 minutes I said well the other guy said an hour and a half. I said you could have at least came out and told me I said you lost my business.

I went for their free air pressure service and found out I had a screw in my tire. I had an important event happening within the hour, so they promised to get the flat repaired in time. Sure enough, my car was ready in less than 30 minutes and I made it to my event on time! Really nice people too. I’ve been here several times, but this experience was the best one.

A few weeks ago I had brought in some new wheels to include TPMS sensors to get tires put on and installed on the vehicle. I was informed that 1 of the 4 TPMS sensors I had brought in were faulty and I needed a new one. They suggested I go with one of there sensors and I could bring in a new replacement sensor next time so they would be able to program them all. So I did just that. I brought a new sensor today. I checked in at the counter and then sat for half an hour. One of the service technicians walked up and I explained my situation, but he insisted I go somewhere else because they would not be able to make money off of me from just installing a sensor I brought in versus buying one of theres. I was furious from that comment and I just sat wasting over half an hour of my time just to hear that. Dont tell me that youll provided a service and then turn around and tell me to go somewhere else let alone your ability to make money from it when I would gladly pay out for labor.

This company has very high moral standards.. we rolled in with a flat and tires that were fairly new.. they werent rated for my SUV. At first I thought they were just trying to get over on me because Im a woman. I did buy 2 tires, but they said it isnt safe and we cant let you leave and put you in danger, so we are going to give you the 2 other tires free. I ask whats the catch? No catch, they said. We just want you to be safe! Well I was astonished, and I left with 4 new tires. GREAT COMPANY!

Always get our tires here. Great service (though you may have a wait) But they are helpful and hard workers... Discount Tire needs to ( hopefully) recognize their employees and their hard work... they are always busy. No job to big or small...Even if it is to check your tires and give their opinion on them before you make a long trip.

We found ourselves needing a tire on the way home from vacation. We called Discount Tire of Abilene when we were an hour and a half away. I love that they check tire pressure and fix flats for free. Thats why I have bought every set of tires here for me over 10 years! And even when its crowded, they do their best to get you out quicker than they estimated.
