Stopped to check it out. It was 4:30 in the afternoon, the website says they close at 5:30. The door had a small sign that said open but it was locked up tight. Tried calling to see if someone was there but no one answered and big surprise therei dont have an answering service. Great waddy to ddp business. Will not waste time there ever again.

Robert and I love this store, the owner and Bobby. It is not a cookie cutter bookstore with lattes and cappuccino. It is something far better. You walk into a piece of history when you walk in this store. Their collection of books is phenomenal, and they are so knowledgeable and always great to work with! We are thankful for the folks at Moody Bookstore and their treasure trove of books, newer and old. Highly recommend!

If your looking, they will most likely have it. Selection of religious reads is outstanding. Knowledge of Gil and Bobby is amazing. Best of all, the doorbell..she is an adorable four legged greeter. Says hello and lets you know you are welcomed. Will be back.

What a great and friendly bookstore. I live in Cincinnati but stop through Johnson City regularly just to go to this bookstore. Bobby is the greatest and always seems to have the time to talk.I like books. I like places where I can nose around and feel like Im on a treasure hunt and Ive found some real treasures here. Believe me, there is nothing like finding a great book and then getting it at a great price! This is not a box store but you will really enjoy this place.

Best used bookstore! Beautiful website as well. Literally thousands of used books in all categories; the depth of books on theology, religion, philosophy, Bibles is second to none; also autographs (signed photos, bookplates!). Gil Moody is brilliant, as is Bobby, when it comes to their knowledge of books. Be sure to visit when you have time to get lost in books :)

Really neat book store. I like the homely atmosphere of the place. Its sort of like being in someones house who owns a lot of books. Theyre very nice and will come down some on most book prices. Their books could be organized a little better though.

They have some very cool older books. Unfortubstely, the inside is extremely disorganized and the staff was rather rude. It honestly appears that the building is kind of used as a facility for them to store the books they sell online. (There were little posters for their website EVERYWHERE.) It is an old dingy place and we had to use our cellphone flashlights to look around. Over half of the store is blocked off..... Not really sure why.

Thank goodness this place exists. You can come in and not be bothered by canned music and the bland approach of retail. Stop and hunt for buried treasure instead of guessing at the almighty retailer.

I was greeted at the door by a barking dog which followed me until someone finally appeared and called it to them, and then I wandered trying to make sense of what was there, until I finally gave up and left. There seems to be little organization & yet, they had kind of a decent sci-fi section, but as for the rest of the store it was just too frustrating to try to make sense of.

Advertising books for $1.00 but it is rather false. Guy wanted 14.00 for an old sylvia brown book that Mckays in Knoville really does sell for $1.00. He should also advertise that he is a bible/christian store because he has rows of it. Not very helpful either.

Dark, musty and reeking of cigarettes. Badly organized, and we received no attention or help from the staff. Quite a disappointment after the other good reviews.
