I love this store! When I first moved here, they seemed to have everything I forgot, like dental floss. They have a small selection of home goods, a pretty good snack, candy and soda selection. But where they excel is beach themed at and apparel. Today they had something I was looking for that Amazon didn’t even have. The is one of the two best shops in town.

DONT BUY YOUR VAPES AT THIS STORE!!! If you vape, dont buy your e cigarettes at this place. I bought 2 yesterday for over $30. The first one died not even 24 hours after buying it. I tried to return it with my receipt and was turned down by the manager. Im a local business man that works only a few doors down from this store. The manager was rude and didnt care saying that Im only 1 person.Well this only one person will never buy another product from your store ever again.Furthermore, I am telling my co workers, family and anyone else that I encounter to not patronize your business. The product is defective and if you cared about your customers you do the right thing and give me another in exchange for the defect. Its not about the $15, its that I was treated rudely and like I didnt matter.

Expect to be treated with disrespect and intimidation.Me and my family have been coming to for years.Getting a drink or a quick sandwich after the beach.I wear my mask so much sometimes I forget it’s around my chin.A young lady that works there saw this, approach me and as stern and agressive as she could“Put your mask over your face now!”I was a bit startled and reacted as if I encounter the police or something. If my mask is around my chin you should assume that I’m willing to comply with safety regulations so a polite reminder to wear my mask correctly would’ve done just fine. She continue to stare me down throughout my visit to make sure I complied not only after I put my mask over my nose but for the remainder of my visit.A stare like“One more wrong move and you’ll regret it”This will no longer be my stop for a quick drink or to reminisce of Palm Beach culture for me and my family. We should all wear our mask correctly at all times but this wasn’t a cry for concern this was an opportunity to berate a customer.I come in for the great vibes it used to give, not to be disrespectfully berated as if I’m not good enough to be in the store.

We try to stop in here once a year when we are in the West Palm Beach area. Its a very kitschy place with many oddities. We like to look at the very funny (many off color) greeting cards (birthdays, anniversaries, etc.). We ended up buying 20 humorous greeting cards that we cant find anywhere else. If you find yourself on Clematis St. in West Palm, be sure to stop here. Im sure youll find something of interest.

I especially love the selection of thoughtful inspirational gifts at Clematis Street News Stand. I could wander around for hours...Once I find the unique wooden sign for my friend or family member with just the right message, then I can choose a thoughtful greeting card to accompany it all without moving my car. Grab a cute bag to wrap it, and Im all set!

Absolutely horrible woman worked there and threw my boyfriend and I out, accusing him of trying to steal a book and threatening to call the police on me for just trying to clarify what happened and explain that he wasnt trying to steal anything. Maybe she was homophobic or racist, Im not sure, but he absolutely wasnt trying to steal and I wasnt even allowed to politely and calmly clear the situation up. She acted deranged and horrid. My family is completely baffled by how awful she acted toward us and I can promise you that every single person I can get to, will leave a negative review about this malicious treatment from that woman. At first, I was sorry for her and she seemed sweet, but now I know she must harbor some kind of Ill intent and prejudice. I hope she remembers that day as a colossal misjudgment on her part. Absolutely no apology is needed. I wasnt allowed to clear things up when I tried, and so you all at that store can forget trying to redeem yourselves. If shes religious, god will judge her for this. If shes not, her conscience should. Horrible horrible woman and awful experience that couldve been pleasant. Ive never had any trouble with any authority in my life or committed any crimes. Her behavior shouldnt be tolerated.

Ignored by the old woman at the cash register when I asked where I could pay for sunglasses. Poor customer service, think twice about spending money here. There are other local businesses downtown with superior service and goods that could use the support instead.

My friend and I are visiting from the Charlotte area to see his aunt and they decided to show me around Clematis. I saw this store and thought it looked cute, so my friend and I went in and began looking at ornaments for my mom and reading pages from the books, laughing together and having a fun time.My friend realized some time had passed and needed to call his aunt who was at the library, so, with a book in hand, he went to the door and made a call while standing within the store. His aunt didnt pick up so he texted her instead. He then remembered he had the book and that standing near the door probably looked suspicious, so he came back to where I was and layed it on the little stand. On his way outside to try calling his aunt again, the lady at the cashier area near the front of the store told him to leave and not come back multiple times, which confused him. Now, I didnt hear her since I was at the opposite end of the store reading and looking around, so I didnt know this until he called me a few seconds later very upset and asking if I could leave the store.I was confused and decided to go outside and check on him, but as I was walking out, I saw the cashier lady talking to the other lady about how she had to throw a kid out for trying to steal a book. I kind of laughed, because my friend at this time was telling me what happened. The other lady asked if it was me, and the one who threw him out said that it wasnt. At this point, Im half amused and half upset. I couldnt believe how wrong the lady had the whole situation and I couldnt believe how she treated a customer.I walked out the store and asked if my friend wanted me to try to clarify what happened so we could continue looking for gifts for my mom and sister. I really wanted to buy the pineapple Christmas tree ornament for my mom.He said yes. So, I went inside kind of nervous not wanting to make a scene or cause an argument. I paced a little debating whether to say anything or not before I actually asked the lady, Hey, why was that guy kicked out? She then replied that he tried to steal a book. I kind of laughed and said, Oh, no. He was only making a call really quick to his aunt. He was inside the store and set the book down before going outside to try calling again. The lady then started to get flustered, which I can understand since I also deal with customer complaints often, but she wouldnt even hear me out despite how calm and polite I was about it. I hope there are cameras in the store so somebody can see the full situation. She told me, Dont you start with me! He only put it back when he saw me. You need to leave or Im calling the cops! This scared me. Neither of us did anything wrong and I only meant to clarify what happened. I thought she was acting very unreasonable as Im only five foor five and 110 lbs. Im barely 18. There is nothing intimidating about a calm, polite, small person just trying to clarify what happened.I then began to ask her to call down when she pulled out her phone and cigarettes and began frantically smashing the keys dialing a number. Again, this scared me. Im in college and have a job, so I didnt want some misunderstanding to result in some kind of trespassing charge since she just asked me to leave despite my doing nothing wrong. I didnt even cause a disturbance as I was speaking calmly and am a pretty shy person. At this point, I left the store shaking from frustration and fear and immediately called his aunt and explained what happened. I then called my mom and told her. Ive already been posting online about this, because in my entire life, Ive been cussed at, threatened, and more by angry customers over pizza, but this lady had zero tolerance for even polite discussion with me about what really happened. Now, I do feel for her. She was shaking and I think maybe she has mental health issues or someone robbed her before. Thats the only explanation I can think of for how extreme her reactions were. I hope she finds some kind of assistance, because that isnt healthy. - Dylon
