Scheduled an inspection, oil change, and repair of my headlight. Warranty was honored to repair the headlight assembly without charge. Staff is extremely friendly and timely in providing service. Excellent service!I contacted Greg for an estimate on some diagnostic service on my 2012 Jeep. He was able to repair the issue I had with the blower motor electronic circuit. He kept me updated as he made progress. He was extremely persistent with what appeared to be a very difficult diagnosis. The price I was given for the overall repair including diagnostic fees was extremely fair and reasonable. I will be using automotive technology of West Islip for all my future automotive repairs.

I am often sceptical of mechanics, as there are so many crooks out there. I recently moved to the neighborhood and this shop being walking distance to my house made me give them a shot. I came in for an inspection and oil change, and while thats not major work, I was overly impressed. Drop off and pick up were a breeze (minus a small wait both times due to what seemed like a very busy day, a good thing IMO) and the one small issue that would have failed my car was resolved at not only a reasonable price, but very quickly. Will be back in the future.

I went first time for my car inspection at this place, they checked my car and told me its need change cabin filter they changed but they broken all key locks of cabin cover top, very Unprofessional people and they didnt tell me they broke it!!!!! beware and think twice before go to this place. my car is agency maintained but Automotive technology worker damaged my car cabin filter cover, i use zip ties now to fix it and will take my car to agency to replace whole part. poor service.Full of Dissappointment.

Greg and his staff continue to be the best in the business even during this pandemic. Other than actually handing off the keys (Greg and his entire staff were in masks and we did the exchange outdoors) the entire experience was contactless. As was my last visit on October 26. 2019 for a NY State inspection. There was no wait time, because the car was 1 year old, I needed a Safety check only, which was completed in 10 minutes. I have been going to Auto Tech for more years than I can remember. The work and workers are tops. They will not fix anything without your approval and when hey fix it, it stays fixed. Its a friendly, professional atmosphere when you wait. They are the best.

Everyone there is wonderful. I have been going there for over 20 years and very satisfied with everyone there. In August I had my oil changed at a large chain automotive company in Bayshore, because I could not come in during the week to Automotive Technology. I drove the car for less than 50 miles. Around a week later I was driving down my block I noticed the oil light come on. Luckily, I was just down the block from Automotive Technology where I drove the car to. Greg was able to see that the oil filter was gone. I have never had an oil filter just fall off a car. Could of been a complete disaster if it happened on the the LIE. First and last time I will bring my car anywhere else!!!!

He had a tow schedule for me the next day and had my car up and running by days end. With my dad being a retired mechanic, and me working on cars with him from childhood until my early 20s, we always had a high standard looking for a reputable mechanic since my father is now disabled and I have herniated disks in my neck preventing me from even doing own oil changes any more.We moved from Nassau to Suffolk over 5 years ago and were nervous to find a new mechanic since we liked our old one a lot. Luckily my very picky (in a good way!) father-in-law recommended to us Automotive Technology of West Islip.The rare times my family needed work done to our cars, either Greg or Tom patiently described things to us on the phone, educated us, were descriptive, and are always very personable. The techs explain what needs to be done. The work is done correctly. If I ever had a problem or a question Greg has always taken the time to look or address the issue.About a year ago there was a noise. It was late and I took a chance the shop was open, got lucky Tom was there. Tom stopped what he was doing and looked at the car. He said the car should not be driven. He took us home because he said the engine may seize. The next day he had time to look at it. It was terminal.Another time, I was buying a used car - Tom inspected the car top to bottom. Found a manufacture defect. The machine TOTALLY missed a weld. The car was not joined properly by the passengers rear door. It made the car look crooked and compromised the safety of the passengers. I did not buy the car.

These guys are great here. Let me tell you why. I had my car (Buick) worked on at another, to me, infamous national chain auto repair shop. I needed tires and this infamous repair shop also charged me for brakes and failed my cars inspection because they supposedly found a fuel leak. This infamous shop told me they dont repair fuel leaks and you have to take the car somewhere else to get it repaired. So, I had to take the car to a real repair and mechanic shop, Automotive Technology of West Islip.To begin with, the infamous repair shop should had told me this BEFORE working on my car not after making money on me.Anyway, the guys at Automotive Technology of West Islip, Tom and Greg, told me they checked my car out for over two hours and did not find any fuel leaks. My car passed inspection with no problems. These guys were honest here and they gained another customer. Thanks again guys!

I always thought big box repair shops ie Pep Boys, Sears to name a few give best service. I was wrong. I have brought my company van into their shop just to give them a test run and they were honest and prices not so bad. I figured company van means they have a unlimited fund to rip people off. That was not the case. They only did the work that was needed to be done. Nothing added just to inflate the price up for more profit. I now bring all my cars and the company van into their shop. I had a timing belt replaced there and after pricing around to all the local shops in walking distance they were right in par with all of them. It seems they dont rush through the car just to get you out of there. I like a shop to take their time and do the job right the first time. That is hard to find these days.

Waited in the lobby for 10 mins with no help. Someone finally came and seemed to not care. I asked for an oil change and they told me not today. It is 3 and they close at 6 and I was willing to leave it with them. How is someone supposed to work and use your shop for basic maintenance. Its a shame, Im new to the neighborhood, but they lost me as a potential customer.
