In town visiting from coastal NC. We love antique malls and decided to stop in here. The selection of glass is wonderful. Beautiful items and some of the booths are really nice. This would have been a great visit, but the store employees were not welcoming. Particularly the older woman at the register. Not a peep. Not a word. Just glared and stared. It was a very disappointing visit. We saw several items of interest we were seriously considering purchasing from locked cases, but left empty handed just now because I absolutely won’t tolerate rudeness from store employees. If I feel I am “burdensome” in your store as a customer, I’m just going to leave empty handed.I was considering your Bakelite bracelets one such with a $215 price tag and Enid Collins bags (I collect) one with a $175 price tag. All to add to my collections. Please understand, while your vendors pay booth rent etc to help keep your bills paid…your customers buy the goods to generate your vendors’ sales. Your customers are very important. Please acknowledge them and at least say something to them. Ask them if they would like to look at something closer if they’re looking into a lock case…because they might spend some decent money.
Nice large building filled with things that you didnt even know you needed !
Neat place. The sad thing is the sellers are right proud of their wares (evidently the people who are attempting to sell bought their stuff too high and are trying to sell it even higher).
The elderly woman at the front counter is a very poor choice for the face of the business. Not at all welcoming. No smile, no greeting, no anything. She looked perturbed. I watched as she checked out a customer who was doing her best to make small talk with her to no avail. I drove over a half an hour to shop here...my poor choice. I would not at all recommend this antique mall. Its not worth your time.
Best old time antique mall in the region. Since it is located near Waynesville and not Asheville, the prices are much more reasonable. Great spot for treasure hunting. Love the fact that they are open seven days a week. 😊
A little out of the way, but a great antique mall with good bargains, great finds and kind owners.
We made some nice purchases here. This consignment mall is filled with really unique items. You can easily spend hours shopping.
Traveling through and stopped in for a visit. Person behind the counter so we rude we decided not not even go in. Poor representation of store.
Prices are too high you can get the same thing cheaper other places
Lots of stuff. Pretty well organized. Mostly antiques, but a few gift mall type stuff. Its a good app to check out
Good selection of things and good prices
If you want to step back into time, this is the place. Little high on price but still enjoyable.
Great place. Lots of vendors with lots of variety.
Nice selection, prices were reasonable
Great place, lots of cool stuff with a huge variety! Stop in and see for yourself!
Drove a long way to get to this store, based on the great reviews. This wont be one of them. This place is more like a flea market than an antique store. 75% of their inventory is overpriced junk. The booths are just haphazardly thrown together and unattractive looking. The other 25% should be in a thrift store. Dont waste your time.
This is a big place with 2 levels. They have all kinds of stuff furniture, nic nacs, kitchen stuff, clothes, cheap and expensive records. They have 2 sweet little old ladies ringing you up.❤ If you need to kill about an hour check it out.
Did purchase a few things and would have purchased more but did not have enough CASH with me (traveling) nor a check. All the sales in booths were 25% off...cash or check only, so I just bypassed those booths. What I did purchase came from booths with no sales period. Couple working check out seemed flustered/ frustrated and just plain grumpy. Saying thank you goes a long way. Dont think I will make another trip to Balsam Antique Mall.
Lots of cool things inside. I never even made it to the 2nd floor.
Huge store with an upstairs area also.
Nice quiet place to browse and shop.
Found an unusual piece, good price and helpful folks
Not my favorite. Prices are a little higher than the other antique stores I have been to. Some of the booths were a mess and hard to see what was there. Front area was neat with all the glass display tables. Parking was okay with easy access to the building.
Very nice antique mall. Didnt realize they closed at 5:00pm on a Saturday-so really went thru quickly just to get an idea of what they had. Most vendors had reasonable prices. Planning to return the next time were in the area, and will make sure to go early!
Nice antique mall with good selection, friendly personnel, good hours of operation. Generally, moderate prices with some sleepers possible. Worth the stop, we liked it better than most of the Asheville antique malls.
Very helpful and nice.
Just junk, junk, more junk and way overpriced.
Uncluttered and laid out really wellLots of antiques to choose from
This two-story Antique Mall has real antiques. The booths are attractive with merchandise presented so that Shoppers can easily see whats available. Housewares, so apparel, furniture, decorative glass, books. Plenty of parking, clean restrooms.
Older place out in the middle of nowhere. Fun place to browse. Never know what you will find. Everything from jewelery to saddles and quilts to toys. Not all antiques. Bring checkbook and cash only.
Good place to visit when its rainy day. Overpriced.
YESTERDAY WAS THE SECOND AND LAST TIME I WILL EVER VISIT BALSAM ANTIQUE MALL. THE ELDERLY MAN AND WOMEN WHO HALF HEARTLY WELCOMES YOU TO THE STORE DO NOT GIVE YOU THAT WARM AND WELCOMING FEELING. THEIR PRICES ARE WAY TOO HIGH FOR WHAT THEY CONSIDER ANTIQUE. THEY WENT SO FAR AS TO NOT CONSIDER MY OFFER FOR TWO TEA TINS, SINCE I OFFERED THEM $2.00 LESS THAN THE ASKING PRICE. THERE REASONING: THEY DO NOT GIVE DISCOUNTS FOR ITEMS $25.00 OR LESS, HOWEVER MY ITEMS TOTALED $32.00 BEFORE TAX. THIS TYPE OF CLOSE MINDED THINKING CONTRIBUTES TO MANY STORES GOING OUT OF BUSINESS!
Staff were so nice and prices were really great! Found some really cool stuff!
Not too crowded lots of interesting things
Love shopping here. Great selection. Clean & well laid out store. Friendly people.
Big place had a great time looking at all of the stuff
Ok
Some booths are just piled full of stuff like they dumped off a load of junk. Not all booths were in such condition but mostly disappointing to drive up 1.5 hours from SC to this mall when it was listed as a top antique mall to visit in our online search.
They have a little of everything here.
Surprisingly reasonable prices for an antique mall. If antiquing, and flea markets are your thing, be prepared to spend half the day here.
Two floors of well merchandised vintage items. There is a bit of everything here and it is well spread out. Friendly staff and great deals.
Very tired inventory. Lots of empty booths. Customers not wearing masks. Need I say more?
Not the worst antique mall, but far from being a nice antique mall.
FantasticWell organizedA must stop if your in area
I pop in about once a month and find that they always have new vendors.
I always do good here with nice finds.
I love Thad Woods Auction go every Friday
