Took my truck to get brake work done and they called to tell me I needed a caliper on it as well instead of just going ahead and doing it. Friendly staff and very knowledgeable would highly recommend them.

While on a family cross-country road trip, our car started smoking right outside Waynesboro. Peoples Garage towed the vehicle to their shop and were able to get us on our way the next morning. Thank you!

It looks like from the previous posts from past years that Peoples is under management and we could NOT be happier! These folks are fantastic. My family and I moved into the area and they have taken care of us ever since. Inspection? They do it. Windshield? Yup, they have a guy. If they cant do it, they are honest and upfront with you. There may be a lot of mechanics out there but seldom do you feel that you can find an honest one. Look no further. They take care of you from the moment you call and speak with their front-desk to when they hand you your keys back and assist you in understanding the work they have done. Highly recommend.

Never felt scammed here, which is rare with auto shops nowadays. They always get me through quickly, as Ive never had a car there for longer than 2 days, regardless of whats being fixed. My jeep broke down on I81 on a Saturday afternoon, and they towed it in and had it ready to pick up early Monday morning. Brought my truck in for power steering work and it was ready within 24 hours. Some shops around here will have you waiting for weeks before even looking at your car.

My father started taking his cars to Peoples Garage 12 years ago. I started taking my cars there 2 1/2 years ago. They are reasonable and good at what they do. As long as I live in Waynesboro I will be bringing my car there!

With my car inspection coming up I knew I had to get my brakes done. So I did, at Mr.Tire but they dont do inspections so they directed me to peoples garage. They said I should pass since the rear brakes that I had fixed were much worse off than the fronts I had left alone. I call peoples garage asking when I could make an appointment for an inspection.. turns out there are no appointments, its first come first serve. The lady on the phone said something about how were all about you here then why dont you do appointments? But I digress. Days later, I finally make it there at 8am when they open with 3 people ahead already so I have to get a ride because it will be 10:30 before they can even look at my car. I get a call saying it failed because something in the front suspension was messed up.Do you hear a thump when you press the brakes? No... they were serviced very recently. Well when you press the brakes you can hear it... blah blah blah, $518 to fix it. Well I cant afford that right now, Im coming to pick up my car.I get there, and the man at the desk says it makes the thumping noise when it goes in potholes, not when the brakes are pressed, which was suspicious. He also made sure to explain it to me as if I were some kind of idiot. So I went to another garage for a second opinion and it passed.TL;DR: Rather than saying You passed but get this fixed later they will say Fix this or you wont pass. Also no appointments for inspections.

Broke down on side of i64, had truck towed here. thermostat housing blew. they took us in on the spot and fixed it as soon as they could. they wanted to do a pressure test for some reason i did not know at the time since the thermostat housing is a repeated problem. the finish the job and i noticed it seemed to be leaking radiator fluid. mechanic said it was because he accidentally added too much and that it was just dripping off the side of the block. i let him go with that since we needed to get back on the road. got down the road and it turns out they had crack my radiator during their pressure test and that was the source of the leak. the radiator was NOT cracked when i was examining everything on the side of the road before calling for a tow truck. didnt bother calling to complain since all they would do if feed people their bs.

Had an almost emergency situation on the interstate, limped into Peoples and they took care of my truck right away. Thanks to them, I made it home safely.

New to the area I relied on a recommendation to get my car serviced. When they told me the parts wouldnt be delivered until the next day they offered to pick up my car from work and return it before the end of my shift. Sure enough they did so. Was able to leave from work to pay for service. Car drove better than when I first bought it. Everyone was really nice and upfront. Pricing seemed reasonable for the work and service provided. I know where to go if I ever need work on my car, peoples.

Its been about 4 months - and a cross country road trip - and a CA emissions check - since I had the repairs done on my Grand Cherokee - and everything is GREAT! Very happy with service and the price!

Im not sure what happened to this place because they used to be the place to go but I refuse to ever go back to them. I took my car there for an inspection, I needed a couple of minor things and they quoted me at a ridiculous price. I wasnt paying 700 dollars for some minor issues so I called around, every other shop in the area quoted simple prices ranging from 100 to 300. I took it to interstate mufflers right down the road who fixed my issues and re-inspected it for 102 dollars total. Peoples garage used to be great and now seems like theyre just pulling their quotes from a hat and trying to rip people off. Bad move in a bad economy.

Fast, efficient, best prices, good place

Whist hiking up at Humpback Rock, my old Jeep broke down...Its difficult to get a cell-phone signal up there, but even after three dropped calls when I was about to give-up-hope, the tow-truck turned up; got us off the mountain, drove us back home and took the Jeep off to the garage to be repaired. Peoples Garage were very quick with the repair, their pricing was very competitive and they even delivered the Jeep back the next day. So I wanted to take the time to write this review, and to say thank you! People - take your business to the Peoples Garage; theyll look after you!

Will NEVER go there again. I called ahead for an inspection and was told to be there at 9am the next morning. I showed up at 9am but they did not get to my car until 10:30. They inspected my car but I could not leave when they were finished with the inspection. WHY? Because they had pulled a big truck into the shop right behind my car and had the front end of the truck tore apart. Ended up having to wait nearly 2 hours after the inspection was completed before I could get my car. Mechanic acted very smug and arrogant when asked about it. Very unprofessional and I will never go there again.

We are from pa and passing threw when our truck broke down. Not only are they great people but they took care of us as soon as we got there so that we could continue on our way. An amazing place!!!!

Have used several times, very skilled, very honest. Have worked on both my Ford F150 and my classic VW with no issues.

These guys are great. We were on a college tour at JMU and our car broke down.. on a Friday night. The only service open on Saturday, in Harrisonburg, was the dealer. I did not want to take the chance to get stuck for the entire weekend. They towed my car to their shop, at no extra charge, then had me back on the road by lunchtime, on Saturday. Great service, friendly, and knowledgeable.

Unprofessional and completely incompetent. They kept pushing back the time my car would be ready by a week and never ended up doing the job right. When id call to see when i could pick up my car they told me that they would call back but never did. This place is the WORST mechanic shop i had ever been to.
