Ive bought a few pieces from Resplendent Crow and sold her a few pieces over the years, as Im local. Im also critical as my husband does this kind of refinishing/painting for a living (but is swamped and has no personal spray booth). The first piece I bought finished I wasnt too happy with, but I live with it. Id love to have the imperfections touched up. The most recent pieces are much better. I will say that I take the brass hardware to be refinished myself as its not always great, and some of it seems painted. Also, the markup between buying these pieces and what they sell for is huge. This is a lucrative business, although I know a lot of prep work goes into some pieces but shes banking on the aesthetic.Picking up at the warehouse is a bit chaotic, as none of the employees really speak English (luckily I speak Spanish!) Getting a hold of Sucheta can be tricky as shes very busy (Im still waiting on a chair that wasnt ready). All that said, people love her work and I see why. I just wish my husband had such a killer spray booth and we could do it ourselves with Fine Paints of Europe paint, which I prefer over lacquer.

The Respendant Crow has been a pleasure to work with. I have followed them on Instagram for years drooling over Sucheta’s colorful creations. For work purposes I was sent to Miami and I thought it would be a perfect time to repurpose a cabinet which I inherited from my mother in law. It was natural wood colored and we chose to paint it high gloss white. sucheta choose crisp modern hardware. The piece was picked up from the Hamptons, taken to Missouri and today it was delivered in Miami. Flawless, seamless. Absolutely recommend.

A few months ago I sent a tired and dated large China cabinet to the Resplendent Crow. I went with Sochettas suggestion for the bold, beautiful wallpaper as a backing. I couldnt be happier. I’ve used Sucheta twice for my own home and once for a friend—and couldn’t be more pleased. Were it up to me, her furniture would grace every home in Dallas! Makes me happy just to look at it. Truly.Word of caution that cannot be stressed enough: lacquered furniture is vintage and will never be perfect. (Though the quality of the pieces far exceeds what you’d get in a store today.) To me, the transformations from blah to bling are stunning, and the minor imperfections give the pieces character. Approach them with that frame of mind, and you will be thrilled.

I have several pieces by Sucheta at The Resplendent Crow and very happy with the quality of the paint finish and the finished product. She painted an antique secretary desk, side table and two lamps. She is busy with several projects, so turn around time can be 4 weeks or more, but worth the wait when the finished product arrives. Be aware when picking a custom color that paint colors look different on the color swatch than in lacquer - the lacquer is lighter than the color swatch. I have recommended Suscheta to others!

In 2015 I hired Sucheta to refinish an amoir I had acquired from my parents home, and used as a young child. The piece itself wasn’t of any serious value, no vintage priceless heirloom, however as one of eleven children, I placed great value on something I was privileged to inherit. The Resplendent Crow fat exceeded my expectations on this childhood treasure!!! Sucheta listened carefully to my requests for that “perfect”color I was looking for. Offered many suggestions on color choices, as well as options on changing/replacing the drawer pulls, etc. The piece was delivered to me and placed in my new grand-daughters nursery for her to use when visiting grandmas house. A few years later, another grandchild added along the way, yet the armoir still looks as beautiful as the day it was delivered. The durability has been amazing!!! One of my lifetime best choices ever made, hiring this piece refurnished!!

I bought a pair of vintage Henry Link Bali Hai, mid century faux bamboo nightstands and absolutely could not be happier. The color we chose was applied beautifully and the lacquer was top quality. They even include some extra in case you need to do touch ups! When I ordered I was leaving soon to go out of the country and Sucheta went out of her way to make sure they arrived before I left, and she was super helpful and responsive the entire process through! The nightstands are absolutely gorgeous and have that custom look that is so unique and a true statement piece. Great quality, beautiful end result and top notch service, i am so happy the way everything turned out!!

Several months ago I ordered a painted vintage dresser from Sucheta. When it arrived weeks later (I live in California and she is in St. Louis), I was a little disappointed in the quality of the paint job. Based on her photos of previous work, I expected to be blown away, but I was not. I took photos and immediately reached out to Sucheta to let her know of my dissatisfaction, and she immediately volunteered that the piece was not sanded sufficiently before painting. She also immediately offered to paint an almost identical piece for me and to have it shipped out to me when her preferred shipper was again available to go to California again. We also agreed that I would return the first, unwanted dresser to the same shipper.Well, last night my new dresser was delivered and I am now officially “blown away”. A beautiful, careful paint job and the furniture piece seems to be of marginally higher quality.Very, very pleased.Thank you, Resplendent Crow!!

I made the unfortunate error of purchasing 2 pieces of furniture from The Resplendent Crow. The workmanship was sloppy and amateurish. Just as disappointing was dealing with Sucheta, the owner. She refused to offer any sort of remedy until I left negative reviews on Etsy. Maybe she has produced nice pieces in the past as her photos and previous reviews suggest, but mine had poor quality paint finishes. Also, Sucheta was very difficult and insinuated that I didn’t know enough about paint finishes to question her work. Beware if you question her or offer anything other than praise even when not deserved.
