Friendly and fun staff that knows their music!!! Great used vinyl section and they can order anything!!! A Tuscaloosa landmark and traditional. They also have a great selection of music memorabilia and posters. One of my favorite stores on the planet.

Oz Music is one of the best, if not the best, store in a N+1 mile (N>200) radius from Tuscaloosa; not just compared to other (there arent many) music stores, but compared to all stores. They help me research and identify hard-to-find CDs, order them, call me when they arrive (often within a few days). And then the prices are competitive and often lower than with any online sources! The staff are a pleasure to talk with. Not only are they friendly, but their collective musical knowledge is a valuable resource. Andrew, Donna, Jason, Gretchen, Anna, and Bobby are genuine friends and kindred spirits because of their love of music and passion to be truly helpful. Any names I left out are because I probably dont know everyone at Oz, yet.

OZ Music is a excellent store. It is like stepping back into timein the 1970s and 1980s. They are really fast at ordering thealbum. CD, or DVD you want. It is a amazing store and younever know what you will find there. The staff is very helpful

Oz is my favorite place for help on hard to find albums. When you know an album is coming out ahead of time, they will be sure you get it right when it comes out on special order. They make it very easy. The entire staff is knowledgeable and extremely friendly.

I LOVE OZ!! Im one of the rare folks in my circle that will still purchase a CD and they never criticize my music choices! The staff is incredibly friendly and Jason is one of the most stand up guys Ive ever known! They are quick to answer any questions and they always have the latest releases. Oz is hands down the best record store in Tuscaloosa, if not one of the best in the entire southeastern US. Jason and his team of employees are so helpful and knowledgeable, and their prices are always more than fair. They will learn your name and face quickly if you shop there regularly. When I was in college in Tuscaloosa, they quickly got to know me from shopping there and got to the point where they would know which new releases I was looking for when I came in before I ever said it out loud. They also firmly support their community with amazing events including hot dog cookouts, live in store performances, record listening/release parties, and more. And their Record Store Day celebration is not to be missed. Being a customer here will make you feel appreciated and you’ll know your money is going to a locally owned business and that money will stay in your community (that definitely doesn’t happen when you buy music online).

Ive seen a lot of record stores in my time, and Oz is one of the best. In the whole entire country. And I mean that! Shop here, the curation is excellent, the staff warmed and well-informed. In short: I wouldnt have known who the Civil Wars were unless they played an in-store at Oz, and I went on to write about them at NPR Music, and (not saying it was my doing) they eventually won a Grammy! Oz is ahead of the curve.

I cant say enough good about Oz Music and the staff there. I have been shopping at this store for all my music needs for about 12 years and have never been disappointed. The staff are friendly and helpful. If they dont have a particular record in stock they will order it for me and I usually get it the next day. I have also sold different collectibles to them at one time and was given a fair and reasonable price for them. I had a box load of cds to sell just last year and the owner even came to my home to look through them (I was unable to get away from my house at that time) and bought most all of them from me. One of the best locally owned businesses in the city of Tuscaloosa.

There is a reason why Oz Music has been around for decades. Its the same reason that Oz Music is the only record store left in Tuscaloosa. They are the best. With a wide selection of music and a courteous, knowledgeable staff, Oz is second to none. Cant find what you need? Go to Oz Music. Chances are, they can put their mits on it. If you love music, go to Oz. If not, just go to Walmart.

Edit; google will not let me publicly reply to the owner, but an unofficial unlicensed import album is a bootleg. Selling it for $40 is egregious and I have no idea how selling unlicensed music is legal.Summary; they sell bootleg albums and try to pass them as realWent in on August 26 on a whim and noticed a wall covered in new releases. The thing that should have tipped me off was that all of the albums had the same, generic back that didnt match with the cover. But in my excitement, I picked up a copy of Tyler the creators Flowerboy and Frank Oceans Channel Orange. Upon showing some friends the albums however, they advised me to go back as they could be boot legs.Upon return I was told they were unofficial pressings. However, these albums were all sold for $40 and were placed in the same area as the legitimately pressed new albums. It feels morally dishonest to A) even sell these unofficial releases and B) to attempt to pass them as real by placing them with the real albums.Finally, as I was finishing the return I was rudley told that most people dont care if the albums are unofficial, most people just care about the music. Its never been a problem for us before.I never plan on returning to Oz.
