I’ve been training here on and off for many years. In all that time the year Range price has stayed the same. I mean less than $60 bucks a month for a great range you can you can use everyday if you wanted to. Great prices on Glocks so no need to travel for a good deal. The classes are great too. I did my first pistol course here and the instructor was top notch. The staffs great also, very friendly and will give you a hand with your gun if you’re having issues or need help as a new shooter. It’s so great to have a high quality range in our small town. Let’s Support our local businesses.

I like shooting here. Always open and never anyone filling the range up. I wish I could bring my own ar15 ammo but I can understand why they want you to buy theirs. Wish they had a larger rifle selection. Overall best place close to me.

Nice shooting range. Store is tailored to LE but has plenty for civilians too. As well as a cerakote applicator. Some people say the owner is rude but he is just doing his part to uphold safety. Whether you like it or not, it can only help. Hes not going to give you bad advice so listen because he probably knows a lot more than you. Very knowledgeable here he gave in depth answers to all of my questions. He knows A LOT about firearms and the laws regarding them. Gave 4 stars because the range could use better ventilation but besides that good business.

Great place. Allows rifles/shotguns to be fired in range with some safety guidelines (ie no buck shot, only slugs for shotguns). Knowledgeable staff and a decent selection of firearms and firearm accessories. I use tactical as my FFL for transfers as it is a fair price and prompt service. No issues with customer service -- very easy transactions and no nonsense.

Bought and traded here before, never any issues. The owner is VERY particular about range use, and by that I mean if you are responsible and safe, youll have a great experience. Ive heard people complain that he came off as pushy, but he only reflects back the attitude he is being given. When dealing with weapons, you dont mess around, and he takes handling and selling firearms seriously. I took a class for my CT pistol permit as well, and they offer other permit classes too. Good selection of rentals to try out and fair pricing for an indoor range. Walk in and be respectful and youll get the same treatment in return.

I had the opportunity to go to Tactical Arms today to shoot which I found to be an overall positive experience. When I arrived, I was told that there would be a 45 minute wait, and unfortunately they do not take reservations (maybe for good reasons). However, after 10 minutes of looking around I was told that a lane had opened up and I quickly entered the range. The range was nice with lots of people around which made it more enjoyable. I shot for an hour and left with no problems. I would definitely go back as I found the environment to be hospitable and the range clean and nice. I wish that there pricing was a bit closer to their competitors as $29/hour is a bit steep compared to Hoffmans and Wolfs which are $25/hour. I know, its only $4 but with regular attendance it adds up. Also, I think they should have discount days as I would be highly inclined to go shooting on a Monday or Tuesday if it was $15/20 when I normally would not have gone at all. Overall I was impressed by this range and I will be going again.-Ben

Ive been shooting here regularly (1-2 times per month) for years. And Im going to give you my honest take on this place, specifically the staff, as that seems to be the biggest gripe people have here.Lets start with the range itself: Awesome. Great ventilation, lighting, and room to work. The racks are a bit beat up, but thats mostly due to people who cant shoot to save their lives.Pricing? In my experience at other ranges, the pricing here for time is more than fair. The ranges that its higher than, its also a lot nicer than. I have no gripe with the fees here. And date night Fridays get you another shooter for free. Sweet.I dont buy ammo here regularly, but the few times I did, it didnt strike me as super overpriced. Higher than at a huge gun store? Yup. But its a range, and they dont stock 1,000s of cases of ammo. I did not at all feel like I was getting robbed. I paid a bit more because I forgot to grab mine, and that was fine.Lastly, the staff. Heres the thing, over the years Ive dealt with probably 3 or 4 different people behind the counter, and every single one of them has been nothing but super helpful and super friendly. Now, mind you...when I deal with them, I do it on the level of hey...its their place, and Im there as a customer. I dont try to come off as some kind of holier-than-thou gun toting bad ass. Have I seen some of them get snippy with other people at times? Yup. But in every single case, it was because the person was being more than a little bit of an arrogant know it all gun owner. If you walk in there with an attitude, you may get one back. Dont be a dick, and they wont treat you like one. End of story.Ive read the negative reviews with regards to the service here, and I can assure you just by reading how they were written, these people walked in with attitude. And if they never come back, Im okay with that as a customer.Carry on!

The customer service is excellent and the shooting range is very nice. The staff is very friendly. However i gave then 3 stars because the place is way too pricey. I spend 60$ on 3 boxes of 50 round 9mm (they’re usually like 11-12$ everywhere else) and in total, between my friend and I, we spent 115$ for a single hour at the range. That’s absurd.

Ive seen some negative reviews here. Not sure how its possible. Everyone must realize every one has bad experiences. Anytime I have a not so great experience I give someone a second try. I have been to Tactical a bunch of times to shoot, get gunsmith work done, purchase guns and took my Utah class there. ALL of the staff including John, the owner. (I hope I remembered his name correctly) they have all been great and very friendly. As far as the ammo being priced high? He charges the average going rate and has a rule you need to shoot his AR ammo because ass munches who dont know what they are shooting pierced their wall which I believe costs 50K a port to repair. The guy is there to make a living and Im sure with all the BS the State of CT puts a gun shop through, its not easy. Hell being a small business alone isnt easy. Tactical is one of the best places to go! I highly recommend this place to anyone.. Support this guy!!!!!

Great place! The indoor range is clean and well ventilated, and the price for range time is good. Great place for a newbie as they have everything you need. Sure, the ammo is more than the big box stores, but not excessively so. Rifles, shotguns and pistols allowed. Not many places around that allow all sorts of firearms. Retail area is a bit spartan, not like the big stores, but a few good deals can be found.

This is a great place to shoot you pistol, rifle or shot gun. Staff is always friendly and the prices are fair. When I want a new gun like a Glock or a Springfield they put my name on a list and Im called as soon as it arrives. The process of purchasing a gun is flawless and quick. Its a great day when we and the wife have time to make it up there and shoot for an hour.

I went here 3 days ago with my father-in-law to check out the range and try out a few guns. As soon as we entered, we were greeted very respectfully. Range prices are very reasonable, and the range itself is clean. I will definitely return another day and look forward to doing business once my permit is in order.

Walk through completely empty parking lot in to empty store to get insulted by little bald guy behind counter who mocked me in front of my daughter because I mentioned PCP air guns, which he quickly exclaimed are not real guns. Guess Mr. Knowitall never heard of a Benjamin Bulldog .357, which many would argue is in fact a real gun. Even in their own web pics the place looks abandoned, go ahead and look! They have all the customers they need in their empty store.Update: In response to below reply, I quoted Mr. K exactly and have a witness. I never asked to shoot anything in his range, just asked for an opinion.

The owner, a scrawny bald dude, is a real prick. He talked to me like he had seen it all, done it all, and is better than the world. He has 0 personality and does NOT know how to treat a customer with respect. The ONLY reason why I went back after the 1st time is to use their range. The first time I went was to just check out their stock. I understand they are a small store but their stock for lack of a better word, sucks. They do, however, have a large selection of hot sauces. So if you are looking for a tactical way to grill your food this is your place. I still cannot get over how I was treated. I walked in and wasnt even greated. He just looked up from his computer, looked at my face and looked back down. I know I am coming off as snobby and stuck up, but trust me I am not like that at all. I am just shocked at how they treated a paying customer. I am going to take my business some place else because I am sure I will get treated better there even if I swear at the staff. In conclusion to my rant, I will never do business here again. Stock is not good and the owner is disrespectful. I hope somebody that knows how to run a business takes over.

Went to tactical arms for the first time looking for a new gun. Walked into the store and was the only one there, the guy at the counter didnt even greet me. He just sat there playing on his phone. After looking threw their terrible selection of guns and accessories I left and wasnt even asked if I needed help with finding anything. Place looks raggy and run down. I then called drop the hammer, a gun store in goshen. I took a trip over there and was treated like royalty! They have a beautiful Shop and a great selection of firearms... better priced too. Needless to say they got my business and I walked out with the gun I wanted that day. I will never go back to tactical arms again. DROP THE HAMMER will be my go to firearms store hands down.

Im a fan of this gun store for sure, given the knowledgeable staff and the work theyve done on my guns. The reason I give a lower score is because of the range fans, combined with the small inventory of the store. I dont know if its just me, but I always find myself huffing gun smoke at this range. I think its because the fans are above and behind you, meaning the smoke will naturally rise up towards your face as it heads into the fans. In terms of inventory, I can only complain so much, given that you need capital to have more stuff. They aint no Hoffmans, for sure. A lot of times they wont have a specific caliber ammo or a type of cleaning product Im looking for.Anyway, I still reccomend them. I trust them with sight jobs and for sharing their knowledge on firearms. Even though their inventory is small, they still have a good selection of pistols ranging from wheel guns to semis. And for some, its makes more sense to go to their range/store instead of hoofing it to Newington or Wallingford.

Not sure why Tactical has any negatives reviews. I took my concealed course here several years ago and have made several purchases. Never had a bad experience. The range and staff are both good quality. In fact, when I wanted a hard-to-find Glock, they were happy to keep an eye out for me. The actual purchase was incredibly smooth and quick. Ive never seen any price difference on anything (ammo, accessors, weapons, etc.) compared to other stores. The owner is very professional and is who I deal with most. My reason for giving 4 stars, and not 5, is I do wish they had more goodies in the accessories department (holsters, vests, etc.).

It really is a shame that the employees are incredibly rude because this place could be nice. The owner, John, must have some self image issues because every time we come into the place he has a serious attitude problem.
