Really impressed with the selection of bikes at this store and the quality of the bikes as well. Decided to go with a simple Core-Line and it was by-far the easiest bike purchase Ive ever made. They got it built and ready the same day.The guys at the store were super helpful, got the perfect sized bike for me and it rides like a dream. Definitely will be buying my future bikes here from now on.

I have had to bury 4 tubes and 2 tires here in the last 90 days, no joke, this place is a scam, I could have paid for a car payment all the money I spent their already, they are selling faulty tubes and charging you like it’s good quality .

I bought a bike and racks today in the shop - the back rack wasn’t put together all the way and came apart. There’s two pieces missing that keep the main piece connected to the bike. It’s pieces from the pannier that connects the thin arms to main piece and keeps the main piece from falling backwards. Also - I bought a 49 frame because the sales person in the store today said that was the smallest size. Now that I’m looking at the exact bike on your site - it comes in a 46 - which at 4’11 is what I needed. Feeling really disappointed now I’m the whole sale. I would have gone online and bought the correct if I hadn’t been told the wrong information. Dropped over 1k today in the store on two bikes and feel it was a wasted. Mine is pretty unridable - wrong size frame, front brakes came apart on first ride, pannier fell apart. Super disappointed.

Wonderful experience. When other shops are 2-3 weeks out for bicycle service they took me THAT day. Also other shops were going to charge me almost double of what I got charged here! They did a great job installing my new crankset, setting chain tension for my single speed, and reinstalling the pedals appropriately! Overall, extremely satisfied. Not much to offer for parts, apparel, etcetera, but have BEAUTIFUL Fixed gear bikes that are fairly priced! Will be going here from now on for all maintenance and or repair needs!! Thank you guys!

Very expensive and my bicicle had two problems in the same week after they changed the tires and they charged me extra for repairing. Just go to Walmart and get a normal bike.

I bought a new bike here, and I had a flat tire on my first ride. I brought my bike back to change the inner tube, and they charged me again. Today, when I tried to ride my bike for only a third time, I found that my inner tube was flat again. Its the new inner tube they replaced last week. Extremely terrible quality control, but they still charge you a lot.

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE place! They charge tons of money for sub-standard products, and cite liability as excuses for fixing things that are not broken on the bicycle. And even when they put in a part that breaks in 2 weeks, there is absolutely no sympathy, concern, or interest from them in anything except making their money. LOUSY customer service, and no skills whatsoever - they put a new chain on my bicycle and it rubs on something while I ride, doesnt connect well with the gear cogwheels, and doesnt let the bicycle move smoothly. AVOID this place, there are better bike repair shops.

After calling and asking about their core line I was told they had just assembled the very bike I was looking at online and that they would set it aside for me. When I arrived Trevor was incredibly helpful in answering my questions on maintenance, parts and other potential options in my price range. He was not pushy on sales but pointed me in the right directions which was very appreciative. He is a great asset to your store and I appreciated his help. Picked an old, new to me bike. Need new tires/ tubes and grip tape. Stopped in to purchase, and they had everything need, plus installed the new tubes/tires and grip tape for no extra charge! They also looked over everything, cleaned/oiled the chain and gave me some good advise. The whole time they were friendly and nice. Most shops I have been in are snobby and want money to talk to you. These guys are awesome! Thanks again!

Purchased a new bike as a gift, picked up from the shop and bike was making sounds a new bike shouldnt. Suspected a certain issue, took the bike back into the shop and was dismissed by the repair person who told me that the obviously abnormal sound was totally fine. Took the bike into another shop in Phoenix today, they quickly confirmed my initial suspicion, fixed and resolved the issue. Gift recipient really digs their bike and Im glad about that, I sure dislike the service at State and wont be back.

Friendliest bike shop around! Really a breath of fresh air in this college town. The team at this shop really knows how to take care of their customers. This store has plenty of inventory to choose from & the perfect staff on hand who gladly answers any and all questions you may have pertaining to their products. The employees genuinely enjoy discussing & educating their customers on all product on hand and theyll help to fit you on the perfect mode of transportation whether its bike or board... And, their bike maintenance shop is amazing. They helped to fine tune my fixed gear to meet my riding style and they even completed a full tune on my full suspension mountain bike. This place is the bees-knees!!!

Great people, great environment, safe location, and most of all they show a vested interest in those who walk through the door. Im a pretty awkward gentleman, and they made me feel right at home. Love the Wednesday night group ride that they put on as well, it has been a most enjoyable way to meet new people. All in all this isnt just a store, but a front for a complete community of awesome people who care about you and your riding experience.

These guys are great. At first I had a good experience buying a mountain bike. I got the Deluxe Pulsar SS 29er Mountain Bike I love it, great ride. Everyone was super helpful and answered all my questions. Then when I had a minor issue with a tire. I came back to the shop and they got everything fixed right away. I really appreciate all the help they gave me in first selecting a bike and then helping me maintain my State bicycle. I know when I finally get the funds to upgrade to the gear kit on my bike they will be able to set me up.I will be back!

The store has a very welcoming atmosphere to start with. The music is always great and will keep you distracted for the few seconds before youre assisted by a store official. They have a great collection of longboards, cruisers, trick boards alongside some mental bikes. They can hook you up with a great set of parts as well and they do a mean tune up. My man Jr. (Junior) did a solid job on my board, hooking me up with a student discount too! Always a great time here, definitely check it out.

State bike shop is hands down the best bike shop in the Tempe area that I have been to. Walking in they immediately stop everything they are doing to assist you. They are extremely knowledgeable on bikes and answered all my questions I had. Their service is top of the line. They put a new tube and chain on my bike in under 10 minutes and was on my way.

We have been looking for a bicycle for my girlfriend for what seems like a year now. We visited every shop in the phoenix metro area, and we were always impressed by the service and knowledge of the people at State. Every time we came in James answered every question that we had and was very patient with helping us find what would be right for my girlfriend. He walked us through and literally explained every detail about every type of bike, even had us test ride to tell the difference. Most of the shops we went to just really have us test ride the bike and didn’t really explain anything as to bikes and their differences. Just picked up our first bike and already looking at what to get for myself. Definitely coming here again.

These guys have *the best* customer service. I bought a great bike there recently. Ive had a couple of issues. Whenever Ive taken my bike in, these guys fix the problem - no questions asked at no cost. Theyve even been able to help me while I wait. I would buy another bike from these guys in a heartbeat. Their bikes are also great quality for the price and look awesome.

Stopped in here to get a quick fix. I was greeted by James & Trevor. They were more than helpful for getting me going on my bike. I had a few nipples that were loose on my wheelset that I bought. They told me it would take a few minutes to correct.Then you know when in a bicycle shop you have to buy more things. Bought a new light and one can never have enough of cheap sunglasses for the AZ sunlight.Wheels were trued and straight ready for the mean streets of Tempe. I have never felt so comfortable in a bike shop like this one. I thought we were buddies when we left that place. I think I finally found a new deduction on my paycheck.Im an avid rider and I do not own a car.

Husband bought a black label single speed from this shop. carter built the bike up to his specifications in about 40 minutes. he was professional and friendly. we highly recommend this shop if youre looking for a single speed shop to call your own. plus the bike is legit my husband says. you will not be disappointed.

Terrible customer service. Ive rode my brand new bike two miles and I have now gone through 3 tubes in my back tire. The first one I let go I figured it was just a faulty tube or I ran something over, the second one I was irritated but dealt with it, the third time I called them to talk to them about it and they just told me its not under warranty and wont be doing anything about it and gave me a real not our problem man. Kind of attitude. For some reason the guy I was talking to kept telling me he lived in Arizona and had several popped tubes over his years of biking. He then repeated that he lived in Arizona. Cool Arizona pride I guess. I live in Colorado. Im glad we both know what states each other lives in now... I will never be purchasing anything from them again. $450 spent on a garbage company.For some reason I cant reply to your responseso Ill have to respond in this edit. Your response leaves me to believe two things. One. You didnt read my review at all because if you had youd have known that I love in Colorado and was in no way shape or form in your bike shop having you repair my bike. Secondly it shows that someone else that purchased from you is also having rear wheel problems. I understand that tires pop or get pricked but today after my 4th new tube (it happened again) Im still certain there is something wrong. Ive been riding bikes in Denver Colorado for five years now and have dealt with throne and debris before. But 4 tubes in about 3 miles is ridiculous. All of my biking friends Ive ran it by agree. Something is up.

If I could leave a negative I would what a joke it was and how disappointed I am and my son is after the hilarious stories that can be told to get you into to buy something. I was a victim of a very clear and defined bait and switch scheme that I am sure is very profitable to the company but it is good for customer retention. I WILL NEVER AGAIN BUY SOMETHING FROM STATE AS I DONT FEEL I CAN TRUST WHAT THE STAFF SAYS.. WHAT A SAME MAKES YOU REALLY RETHINK BIG PURCHASES. Took my new State Thunderbird in to the shop to get tuned up and a slight fit change. James and Junior were both so helpful, my bike was worked on immediately and I was able to hang around waiting for the bike to be done. The guys were very attentive even with a few customers around. Theyre always very friendly and willing to help you right when you get in. However, since theyve been taken over by new management, they no longer do free tubes on Tuesdays, which is unfortunate. Its $8 for a new tube. Ive come here 3 times since the new management and their tubes always go flat on me after about 2-3 weeks of riding. This doesnt happen with any of the other bike shops Ive been to. Just unfortunate their products dont seem to be that great.

This place is really awesome. I popped one of my wheels off and they were able to fix it super quick. Its very convenient and the worker was really cool too.

I told the guy three times I needed 700x23 tubes. He gives me 700x35-40. I was distracted and didnt notice right away, then drove home with some friends. Only to find out the size was wrong. Drove back to have him swap them out. He didnt even acknowledge his mistake or offer an apology. Just your typical bike-wook, douche-bag, uncaring attitude.After that, one of the tubes blew out the next afternoon, with my bike just sitting at my house. Not sure why, but it was disappointing that a tube didnt even last 24 hours after purchasing it from this shop.

Skate ride shop was awesome. Im a novice and they helped me find everything I was looking for, and were great about installing parts. It was a great deal, especially for a college student!

I was stoked when I got an interview at MWU in Glendale because that meant I would have the opportunity and the privilege to see the actual State Bicycle store in person. I have been purchasing and supporting them over the last 5 years and always recommending them to others. So finally after an 8hour drive from home my first pit stop was Tempe, the State place but unfortunately it was the warehouse, which is when I got redirected to this shop. I was super disappointed they only had one Undefeated II not to mention no one acknowledged me and after 15 minutes I walked out with a huge disappointment. Considering that my original intention was to purchase and possibly get a better deal on a Undefeated model in person rather than have it shipped to Texas. Now I feel robbed that I supported this company and literally got them half a dozen of sales from close friends and relatives. To come and find out the contact info was just a warehouse and not a store, and then finally showing up here and leaving empty handed without any interaction.

These guys are laid back and helped me out a lot. They know their stuff and will help get you a great setup for what you need.

The shop is great place to visit and make your PURCHASE.... ENJOY LIFE.... BE WELL !!! In November 2020, I purchased a 6061 Black Label V2 Raw and again my experience was fantastic. I made the purchase on line, had it delivered to the State Rideshop and they assembled it. Trevor is a MAGICIAN !!!, I wanted to upgrade my tires, front brake and handlebar setup and it was done with attention to detail and quickly!!! Great people there at the bike shop its based off of fixed gears but nonetheless they got good customer service, demo rides there, and good prices for all sorts of bike stuff.

Great place to shop for single speed/fixed gear bikes, skateboards of all types and accessories. The also provide service for both. They also host a weekly bike ride. Wednesday nights at 8pm.

Had a flat rear tyre, came to this shop and they installed a new tube for 16$. Just right after 2 days, it went flat. I was locking up my bike when I heard a bang noise coming from my rear tyre. When I inspected it, it turned out to be flat again. Went to this shop again, one of the guys checked what’s the cause, there wasn’t any puncture on the outer part of the tube (this ruled out the cause that I might ran over sharp thorns etc) but there was a hole on the inner part of the tube. Had to fork out another 16$. Scrolling down through the reviews, seems that there are complaints about this shop carrying bad tube product and unfortunately I was the unlucky one to experience it. Not going to stop you If you’re willing to pay 32$ for such low quality tube from this shop.

Too Start out Ive been righting bicycles as a Roadie and a Fixed Gear rider for over 3 years if not longer.I came to this Shop with a Bottom Bracket Problem, on a chromoly RedLine Frame with a 8 year old Bottom bracket that wasnt going to come out easy but after 2 hour of Intense labor and the calibration of 2 Cycle Engineers we Cracked it. Got that sucker out clean!! No striping threads it came out like butter!! Thanks to JR and I.
