What a great hardware/home improvement store. They have pretty much everything one could want or need. They even have a house built inside the store to display items installed that are for sale. Very helpful staff. 5 stars.

Great products. Great prices. Not so great staff. Sales associates need training in their policies and practices. Management, specifically Ruth, needs training on how to correct their employees errors. Wouldn’t recommend the Tacoma location.

I dropped off a Uhaul truck and there was an issue with the charges. Fortunately McLendon’s was super helpful and got it all sorted out with Uhaul.

We were able to locate a section of aluminum screen to fix an air vent in our outside eave. Incidentally purchased organic rhododendron fertilizer that was in sale. Staff was helpful.

Few people in the store when I visited, though it is a double senior day.Cashier is very polite as usual, always wishes us a good day.

Perfect, I originally purchased a pool noodle for my car rack, the associate suggested pipe insulation might work better, I bought that instead and it was perfect. Thank you

McLendons has surpassed all other hardware outlets in our area. They have knowledgeable and friendly staff and, I swear, at least one of everything made by anyone in stock !!

Went for the garden section and their live plant selection. Beautiful plants for the most part, but wish theyd have had more selection of veggie plants. Also quite a few of their veggie plants were struggling or damaged. Would probably look elsewhere for veggie plants.Decent prices during the plant sale.

Awesome service, rented a uhaul which they were a little new to, but they did a great job getting everything taken care of. Drop off was easy even with me dropping it off after I said I would be back. They treat you like family!!!

Good service and range of products. However, I do object to being asked to make a donation to Seattle Childrens Hospital when we have a wonderful childrens hospital in Tacoma, Mary Bridge Childrens Hospital. Corporate need to support our local community otherwise I will not be coming back here.

WOW just incredible service. Huge selection. Had a leaky hose bib and brought some parts in; the clerk helpfully picked out the washers and packing I needed from a wall of parts. Will be coming back for everything!

After kindly informing the cashier that Tacoma also had a Childrens Hospital where our donations might be routed, the cashier unapologetically informed me their HQ was in Seattle where the donations would go.McLendons got my donation, but lost a customer.Update: notice the response that ignores the local Childrens Hospital we have right here in our own city. The customer isnt lost; the company is.

I came in looking for a piece for my toilet. Found it right away. Was asked if I needed assistance which was very nice. Prices are fair and it was very clean inside

I had a conundrum of a plumbing issue and have had several contractors tell me a variety of different things that required opening up the wall. I was positive that was not actually the case. the excellent staff at McLendons was able to point me to exactly what I needed and just moments. Highly recommended. Beyond that the checkout lady was extremely helpful and assisting me with my guilty pleasures. Wonderful people!

Yet just another reason to NOT shop here! I had a question about a screen door. Pushed their service button labled only once an associate came out of the back employee only section and said, someone will be here shortly, I told him I only had a question but he wandered off mumbling. Four more times I pressed and waited. No help whatsoever came. AT ALL

If you need it they likely have it. And for plants they are the best stocked in town.

McClendons always rocks my world. They always seem to have theee best nuts and bolt selection. The customer service is always above and beyond that of those other guys. You have to go and see for yourself.

Amazing size and great selection! People to help you everywhere and great displays all over the place. The only complaint I have is the bathroom stall has a huge gap between wall pieces and it doesnt lend much privacy. :)

Our first experience at McLendon makes us never want to go to another hardware store again! Michel in the electrical department was incredibly helpful with our project needs. Not only was he friendly and patient, he was incredibly knowledgeable and walked us through everything we needed to do for our project! McLendon should be really proud to have such a great employee.

I nicely asked an employee if I could take few of their cardboard boxes he was about to throw away(the ones they use for stocking), he said no because they sell their own boxes. Then told me that I’m broke and told me to get out of the store. I’m not broke, I’d rather not spend over $5 on a cardboard box when I can spend that on a footlong sub... most of the people that work there have always been rude to me and I’ve been using Mclendons for over a year. I’ll gladly leave the store until they hire some people with friendly personality.

Great store. Its really nice to frequent a large hardware store that is not Lowes or Home Depot. The lighting is not great. Definitely on the dimmer side. Which some people might love.

These guys have mastered the ability to cram a lot of stuff into a decent sized space. The aisles are fairly narrow allowing a huge variety of home improvement and repair parts into a fairly small space without sacrificing the ability to move around. They always seem to have whatever I need... i just wish there were a few more of them (stores).

Great place to shop. My kids favorite because of the demo house. Their 3rd trip out in 3 months and they asked to go. A very good hardware store. Knowledgeable people. Prices a little high, but you got to pay a bit if you want good stores around.

I find the prices a bit inflated; and have found customer service poor; one clerk sent me to the wrong section, twice. Another time I was asked to wait for a section clerk; 15 minutes later I was still waiting. General air of indifference.

Went in to get window screens repaired, they were able to build me 2 new ones exactly the same for $15 a screen and got it done by the next day when I told them I had a short time frame. They were super helpful, and nice, I dont need hardware stuff very often but I will definitely go back here if I need anything else.

I was told that I had to wear a mask even though I have a respiratory illness that allows to not wear one. They apparently dont know the laws about description of a medical illness. I will take all future needs elsewhere. They were very rude. As far as the Gov.s orders, he also points out that people with a medical condition that cant wear a mask dont have to. Thats why every store or hotel Ive walked into, in 15 different states in the last two months, I have not been refused after telling them I have a medical condition, because that is the law. It is considered discrimination because of a medical condition.

I am a 100% Disabled US Navy Veteran with a medical condition (PTSD) with limited mobility and use an electric shopping cart. A large, old, blonde haired female employee informed that I had to leave the store if I didnt wear a mask. She insisted even after I informed her I have a medical condition. She followed me out the store on Friday 11/27/2020 at/ near 05:45 pm pst. I feel highly offended by the conduct that McClendons doesnt support our disabled veterans. This employee should be fired!!!

HEARTS OF GOLD! So I was frustrated with another large hardware store in the area (rhymes with Foam Creapo) and wondered into McLendon.Bought a BBQ, and was surprised to find it was priced the same as elsewhere. Several people bent over backwards to assist, and scheduled this for immediate delivery. I was grateful because I had to get cooking for my wife’s birthday. They were very pleasant to my daughter ( 2 years), and made several recommendations of some things I’d need, saving me a trip.I tried in earnest to tip the gentleman who delivered but, Ron insisted that he’d much rather I come back and give the money to the charity for the children’s Hospital that they’re doing next week. (True story, he wouldn’t take my money). He simply said “thank you for doing business with us”Unbelievable! Well done and what a great experience. Work with the good guys! Check out McLendon. A rep helped us find the light bulbs we needed for an exterior lamp post. Couldnt find them at other home improvement stores.

National big box stores are great if you know what you are looking for and dont need any help, and the product is one of a thousand everyday SKUs. During Covid-19 it wasnt crowded so you could shop comfortably and they always have what is needed.

Nicer than Lowes, and not as crowded. I really appreciate their small business feel.

The best hardware store in Tacoma. If you dont think that you will be able to find it anywhere the y have it. The fastener selection is top notch. One time I came in to see if they had a spring to replace one that broke on my bike and they had exactly what I needed. Their staff actually knows how to use the products that they sell.
