I went with my car engine light on. Charlie quickly diagnosed the issue, and fixed it while I waited, within 2 hours!He got the parts right away. And also checked engine fluids, windshield wipers, and even did a test drive before handing it off!He is reliable, reasonably priced, and overall easy to work with. If you have a vehicle that is not under factory warranty please take your car/van to Choice Auto for any repairs or regular maintenance. You can trust the owner, Charlie, with your vehicle. He wont recommend any unnecessary work for your vehicle. Very cost effective and saves money when compared to the dealerships. I fully recommend Choice Auto. I would say this hidden gem is the best in the Bay Area.

Incompetent and deceptive.Took my car there with a check engine code for a gas leak which they said they couldnt find the cause for. My car also had rough vibration/noise coming from the engine area. They recommended I change the serpentine belt ($150 for $20 part). Didnt fix the problem. His explanation was: we didnt recommend this for the noise, just because the belt was too old.Also, made the mistake of entering my phone number on their payment system. Started getting robocalls for car warranty the next day.

I have been getting my auto work done by Charlie for nearly 18 years. Although I live quite far from his shop, I bring my vehicles to Charlie because of assured quality of service and faith in his ability. Absolutely no issues with any job. He does not recommend unnecessary work. He has very high standards of work ethic. His assistant Juan is also a pleasure to deal with.

Charly and Juan are my go to car mechanics. Between my two stints living in the South Bay, they have helped keep my 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee with over 170K miles running with minimal downtime and at a reasonable cost. Here’s hoping for a few more years out of Earl Grey (my car’s name).

If you are looking for good private car service, this the good place, I recently serviced my car which got front suspension issues need to replace both, those got replaced almost half the price when compared with showroom estimation.

I took my car that had a problem. The owner consulted with me and took a look at the car. He suggested certain things and educated me on the possible issues. The owner came out very credible.

Dealer wanted $700 to replace Odyssey engine mounts. Got it done here for $300 with original Honda parts. Lesson: never pay dealer prices for major repairs after warranty period. Though the shop environment is not great, Charlie is a no-nonsense guy who gets the job done and saves you a chunk of dough. Amex not accepted though.

After replacing my old tires I was observing little vibration in the car while accelarating. I took my car to Precision Tune guys, they gave me $800 repair estimation and told me not to drive even 5 miles as they are seeing some serious problem.That day I was supposed to go to SanDiego :( . Then I took my car to Charles, he inspected the car and said there is no problem with the car and sometimes vibrations comes with new tires.Im driving the car from past 8 months after this incident and put more than 8000 miles on it no issues.thanks!
