Great shopping experience. JCpenny is going out of business. The sales are 70 percent off.I was able to buy five dress shirts and five ties for $140.00.The store has plenty of product left. The employees were very helpful and nice. Checking out was painless.Parking lot has plenty of space. Handicap parking is available. You cant find a better deal these days. Highly recommend this store 👌.

For some reason they took all the decent clothes and sneakers out the store and started selling clothes that no one wanted to buy . The shoe selection went to the dogs also . This is why they had to go out of business in my opinion. Store went from being crowded with shoppers to none at all once who ever had the bright ideal to change the selection of clothes and sneakers .

Love this store and sadly, they are going out of business. Theyve always had decent quality clothing and great prices. Going to miss them...

Customer service at the management level is the worst. I have an issue with an item explained to at least 3 people including leaving a message for the manager; and noone called back. Based on their lack of concern and poor responsiveness, I am not surprised that this store is closing.

J.C. Penneys curbside pickup option is a waste of peoples valuable time. You are always told that the order cannot be prepared at this time when you try to do curbside pickup and nobody answers the phone when you try to call. This kind of service is an absolute turn off.

Im very sad and disappointed that the store in Florence,SC is closed because that is where I do most of my shopping. However, I had an item that I had to return, so I went to the JCPenney store near where I live. I was very impressed with how the store in Sumter, SC encouraged social distancing and the great sales offered. We ended up spending $200 and saved $400. I hope the Sumter, SC store does not close too!

Great sales and better prices than other stores in this mall. Semi clean - clothes were all over the place last time I visited.. Usually only one register opened with a line - last visit both the one register and the jewelry counter had lines. Hard to find someone working but there are people around working, just gotta find them. Cashiers are hit or miss - really friendly or just meh.

Had trouble finding a bathing suit in my size. An associate named Kim not only walked over and showed us the bathing suits, but looked through them with us to help find my size. She truly went above and beyond, I was so impressed!

We had a very nice pleasant visit although the prices our little Steve are usually dont mind paying for my clothes because but the JCPenney in Sumter you will not find anything where it is supposed to be at for womens or Juniors clothing especially your pants or jeans as some people would say the staff was very helpful and helping me find one pair of pants but I was looking for that was not any type of jegging and I bought that pair but I probably wont come back to buy jeans here again only because they didnt even sit what it was supposed to after I got home the customer that come in there are the ones that make JCPenney look like that and people of Sumter and anyone that goes in there and shop should be ashamed of yourself need something looking like that

Shopping for uniform clothes for my 13 yr old, older lady employee stops me and asks what we are shopping for and tells me where to find boys (I was in mens) I tell her thanks but he wears mens medium and she says well he doesnt look like it, Kinda snotty. But doesnt help find what we are actually looking for, she didnt even offer to point us in the right direction. RUDE!

I saw their clothes at the website, the models looked really cool so I decided to give it a try. I was surprised that the items in the store were as good-looking as on the photos in the site. I bought a few shirts, 3 pairs of shoes and will visit is again for sure.

In store doesnt have the extra 30% off over $100 purchase and the 25% off under $100 purchases.. So, i tried on some khakis to be sure of the waist size, left and placed the order online.. Bummer.

This store is well organized and has a decent selection. it is one of the major entrances to the mall so there can be a lot of traffic. The staff is helpful, but they can be pushy, especially about credit cards. DO NOT sign up for a JCPenney credit card. They deals are not that great and if you get denied it will hurt your credit.

They always have great sales. Im a reward member so I received coupons regularly which is a plus.

Checking out is difficult here. Seems like the sales people run away when you need to check out. Actually had one on the phone on a personal call while I was the only person standing at the register. I put my items back and left. I avoid shopping here unless Im desperate.

Service is terrible. Staff is put out if you need to use a fitting room. Never enough registers open and rhe customer service agents act like its a burden to work. Stock is limited amd the store is disorganized. Pretty much matches the rest of the Sumter Mall. Overall a disappointment and not pleasant to shop. Best bet is going to Columbia or Florence for better experience and selection.

The Sumter store just hasnt been the same for about 5-6 yrs. The company took away a huge section of plus size clothing for expensive makeup. The sale stuff is still to expensive. Dont put signs up telling meUP TO 70% OFF, give me 70% off.

Bought a pair of sneakers. Employee (young man) did not remove security tag. This is the second tone this has happened at this store. WHAT is your policy? Not to remove tags so you are forced to return to store????? I need sneakers and will get tag removed but will return a bunch of other items to make the trip worth my time. Time is valuable to me and employee should be fired!!! My policy is if I have to return something because of a security tag I get a refund.

This place is not customer oriented. I stood in line for 20 minutes and it did not move. There were three employees standing to my left having a conversation not work related, one guy (Tyler) on the phone and one cashier assisting a lady that cut the line. I was so frustrated that I sat the items on the rack of Jeans and walked out without purchasing anything. I will not step foot in another JCPENNEY. I purchased the shoes from the Shoe Depot around the corner. Sad.......
