My husband and I just bought a new Traverse from here and are so pleased! Chris Jones is amazing and VERY knowledgeable. We started looking back in May and from May to June the price increased and Chris literally did everything he could to get us back where we needed to be. He was so much fun to work with and aside from all the work he had to do, we never felt as if we were a bother! My husband and I truly appreciate everything Chris did for us.We also had the pleasure of meeting Ali and Mark and both of them had such great attitudes and we were always greeted with a smile! When I went to pick up my car, Ali met me at the door with the key, a full tank of gas, and said β€œtake it for a spin!” If your reading my review, I suggest taking a visit!

This is the worst dealership I’ve ever visited. Came in with a 2016 Mustang GT with 44,500 miles. I asked for an appraisal. Never did get one. The salesman wasted all my time there looking for trucks I was interested in. He could barely locate them ? I worked all day didn’t have time for this BS.

Went in to Charlie Obaugh about a month ago looking to test drive a specific model vehicle that my wife was interested in purchasing. We met Ali Shama and he was very friendly and gave us the keys to a vehicle they had in and let us drive it and my wife fell in love with it. He then asked specifically what we were looking for and we explained it to him. He talked to Chris Jones, who is the fleet manager, and he built us what we specifically wanted and discussed pricing. We came to an agreement and he sent in the order and today we walked away with our vehicle! During this past month Ali kept us up to date on where our vehicle was in the building process and Chris made sure to be upfront and honest with us about the whole process. Unfortunately the GM rebates changed in June compared to what they were in May and our price came up some on what they could offer but was still under $1000 to what we had agreed upon. Chris did everything he could to get our purchase price down and he even beat DCCUs financing and it saved us over $1000 with the loan, so he was able to make up for the price difference on our vehicle and then some. He even made sure that they filled up our gas tank before we arrived today. I cannot commend both Ali and Chris enough and believe that when someone goes above and beyond they should be acknowledged for their customer service and making my wife and I feel like family. Yesterday, 29 April 2021, I took my truck in for a scheduled appointment to have an Oil Change, a Tire Rotation, and a State Safety Inspection. I will start with the good news. When I scheduled the appointment, I thought I still had one free oil change remaining from when I purchased the truck from them. The service rep let me know that the time had run out at the end of March. He let me know that due to COVID, people had been less likely to go out, and that hed would grant me courtesy extension. That was the good news. When I showed up for my 0830 appointment at 0800, I checked in with my service rep. We went over what was to be done, and I informed him that I did not want to have my vehicle washed. I let him know that I just had it waxed the day before and I did not want to get water spots on it. He let me know that he understood and would annotate it. Approximately 2 hours later the service representative came into me and let me know that my vehicle did not pass inspection due to torn wiper blades and wanted to know if I wanted to have them replaced. I asked him how much it would be and he said approximately $50. I asked him if he could bring my vehicle out so I could go to Walmart pick up a set of wiper blades and replace them and come back and get the inspection sticker installed. He said that would be not be a problem. When my vehicle pulled up, it was soaking wet and the door too the gas fill was missing. I asked the rep if that was my truck. He said yes. I asked him one, why is it wet? And two, where is the door to my gas fill area? Apparently they had driven my truck through the car wash and the brushes of the car wash had removed the door to my gas fill area. He proceeded to walk down to the car wash area where he found the missing part laying on the floor. He was able to reattach the component, but it did have scratches on it. He apologized for the car being washed and the door issue, and offered to have the entire vehicle detail. I let him know that I did not want anybody there touching my truck. I went to Walmart and picked up two high quality wiper blade refills for a total of $20 and replace my wiper blades. I then drove back to the dealership in order to get the state inspection sticker installed on my vehicle. The service rep drove my vehicle back to the vehicle tech area, and I ended up waiting approximately another 30+ minutes for the vehicle to be ready. I departed the service area at 1200.Additionally, the first time I had the oil changed I had requested that they do not wash my vehicle. When they pulled my vehicle in to give it back to me it was soaking wet. I asked them if they could get me a towel or a chamois so that I could drive the vehicle before taking it out and allowing the water spots to dry in the paint. They found me a towel and I stayed in the exit bay and dried my truck.

We lost a water pump and had transfer case issues while hauling our Airstream from Maine to FL with our 3500 Duramax. Not only did we get excellent service but they also gave us a place to park the Airstream and plug in for two nights. They also gave us a loaner car. Everyone was so nice, from the service dept to the RV dept, and they could not have been more acommodating to our needs. Wish we lived closer so we could use them whenever needed.

It was supposed to come a hard freeze so this was an immediate problem. This was the closest Chevy dealer. Mr David in service dept was great. Bear was such a great salesman to work with. He did not pressure me at all throughout the process, he was EXTREMELY knowledgeable about the car, and was a very friendly person. Bear helped me find the most perfect car and made sure i was comfortable with it and with the price. Also, the entire staff at the dealership was friendly and willing to help. Had my 2016 GMC 3500HD serviced there. When I arrived the service department seemed inconvenienced when I arrived. Boarder line rude when I asked if they could look at a couple of things. I asked if I could have my truck balanced and aligned and they replied with you need to take it to a truck store. I thought i did being the dealership has a big GMC truck sign on the road. Got my truck back only to find they did not fill the DEF fluid! Got the service light about 15 miles into my drive. Pulled over added DEF and now the light wont go off. Called the dealer and asked for help only to find service closes at noon on Saturdays with no person to assist me. When I spoke to the manager he was extremely rude. When I stated i would review my service he got even more rude and started saying I was threatening him which I was not! Recourse is not a threat. His reaction to a customer receiving poor quality work was very poor and not in line with good customer service. I was told my fluids were topped off but I guess DEF was not included. Even if they charged extra for DEF I would have paid. Last, they didn’t even vacuum my car and the service was over $250.I will say the gentleman providing the shuttle was great as well as the guy that took my money,but then again he was taking my money.

Bad business - False advertising is their specialty. I have made multiple request for SOME type of financing that they repeatedly advertise on the local radio stations all day every day, and all they can get me is a run around, and back and forth. Eric states, If you have $500 down and make at least $2,000 a month... YOU RIDE!.... Not the case. They have yet to put me in a car. I am in the process of trying to rebuild my credit, and the attempts to get financing through them has caused me numerous hard inquiries on my credit [which yes, is a given, I understand that.. willing to make that sacrifice to be able to obtain financing for a vehicle] which is causing a great set back, suffering my credit even further, without any gain. I would have never thought to go out of my way to try to finance through Obaugh had it not been for the advertisements that states guaranteed financing.Theyre obviously not a dealer for anyone out there who is in the position that I am in, regardless of what they advertise. So please keep that in mind before stopping in.

I scheduled an oil change on Sunday for today at 2pm and asked my mom to bring the car in for me since I would be at work. She got there early but they took someone before her who had just scheduled an appointment that morning. She has now been waiting for over 2 and half hours when I have never waited more than an hour for my oil change. They were being rude and ignoring her when she tried to figure out what was wrong and never picked up the phone except for once when I had called. They also said the oil cap was bad but I had just gotten the car in April and it was brand new. I would’ve never bought a car from this place if I knew it was going to be so terrible and they were going to be so rude. I’m not bringing it back here unless I ABSOLUTELY have to.

Took my vehicle here after an accident I had. They sent it back to me with a bent frame after my insurance paid thousands of dollars for the repair. Took it back to have new frame replaced and they had my Tahoe for 5-6 months. Had many issues since for which they corrected. Recently had a popping noise in front end and 4 wheel drive issue. Took it back AGAIN and was told it was the bushings. They ordered parts and I dropped it back off. Waited 8 days to give them a call after dropping my vehicle off for the repair and was informed they had sent another claim to insurance to fix the control arms and ball joints in front end. Insurance denied because it should’ve been fixed with the 18k they’d already paid. They then informed me it was due to normal wear and tear. It’s only got 40k miles and wanted to charge me $1,300 to fix. Took it to another company and had to pay $800 and they confirmed control arms were bent from my accident. AND yes Eric Obaugh was aware of the issues we were having. Eric if you check your voicemail there was a message left for you before we picked the vehicle up on Thursday. When Gary came in there he asked Heather if everyone was aware of the situation including yourself and Clif. She said yes everyone is aware and that was the final decision. If you seriously want to make it right you could pay for the $800 repair that your technicians originally overlooked. And I’m still having issues with the 4 wheel drive that I was told had no issues when I picked it up on Thursday. Those ARE the facts!

Christian Letelier was a pleasure from start to finish. My vehicle had to have a minor repair before delivery. The service department had the part overnighted and installed the next business day. I was lookin to buy a new car due to buying one in January from Armstrongs in Harrisonburg. I called here and spoke with the manager Josh Colvin I told him over the phone that my new car had to be hauled in they said come on in with it. When I arrived Josh sent me to Bear Awesome guy respectable and his compassion for people was amazing. I got approved from all their hard work. The finance department has a wonderful guy as well Mark Puit he answered a hundred questions for me and never rushed me or made me feel like I was being pressured into anything. Absolutely Great place I recommend everyone come here.

Writing reviews are not my thing but I will try to be as fair as possible. I have purchased three Chevrolet’s from Charlie Obaugh since 2014 with my most recent being a 2020 truck. Are they a perfect 5 star? No, who is? Are they close? I would say very close, because they try to be a 5 star. Have I had issue’s in the past 6 years? Yes, but when brought to their attention, these issue’s were addressed promptly and fairly. Not all issue’s are the dealer’s. Sometimes I/we dont completely understand the true nature and complexity of the problem. Do they make mistakes? Yes, but they correct them when brought to their attention and do so promptly. I don’t know how other people plan and buy their vehicles but I do a ton of my own research. I research the exact vehicle I want with all the feature I want. I configure the vehicle on the Chevrolet web site so I know exactly what cost’s what. I research current NADA ( NOT KBB) values of my trade in. I research everything about the purchase. My credit score, MSRP, rebates, dealer offers, service offers, current interest offers, dealer fees, tax, tag and title. The list goes on. I use a spreadsheet to calculate all the numbers. I never impulse buy. For that amount of money, never impulse buy. Research the different ways dealers make money. I want and need them to make money or else where will I go when they are no longer in business.That all being said, when you walk into Charlie Obaugh prepared, you will NOT be disappointed. Charlie Obaugh Chevrolet sales has always been fair, honest and transparent with me, without being pushy or high pressure. The service department has let me down on only one occasion but promptly resolved the problem without trying to cover up or deflect. The parts department is quick, knowledgeable and very friendly. Luckily I have not had a need for the body shop but would fully expect them to be as competent as the rest of the company. I will give Charlie Obaugh 4.8 because I know they will strive for the 5.0

If I could rate 0 stars I would. Do not under any circumstance take your car here for service. I took my 2015 Buick to them for a check engine light that had to do with the engine coolant system, the only symptom the car had was a non functioning temperature gauge. Which I communicated to them. They quoted me over $600.00 in order to replace the thermostat for $343.94, the engine coolant temperature sensor for $166.23 new coolant for $31.55 and $125.00 diagnostic fee. However, I knew there was nothing wrong with the thermostat because the car did not overheat, and it was able to generate heat quickly, therefore it was also not over cooled. I replaced the engine coolant temperature sensor for $28.00 and it took me about 45 minutes. The check engine light promptly went off and the car has run fine ever since. Furthermore, when I went to replace the sensor just a couple days after being at Charlie Obaugh I find an old mouse nest under the engine cover, meaning they never even looked at the engine. They will misdiagnose your vehicle and then give you an overpriced quote. Don’t go here.

As an out of state buyer, I negotiated an entire deal including delivery before checking out the vehicle. The salesperson said it would be detailed and a situation taken care of before delivery. Both were not done. Arrived dirty with 3 months of stuff including animal hair. Tims communications after were dishonest and very dismissive. Buyers beware...I dont recommend this dealership PERIOD

In my most recent visit to get my inspection renewed it was almost unbearable to wait in the lobby. I was the only customer waiting that had a face mask, and none of the employees in the service station were wearing face masks. At my job I wear it for 8, sometimes 10 hours a day, I wore it the whole time I waited with no issue. Not that it mattered, as a customer without a face mask coughed nonstop for nearly all 30 minutes our wait times over-lapped. Very obvious, wet, loud, coughs. I implore the owner to take more precautions so that COVID, the flu, or any illness doesnt spread; it takes us all working together.

I also wouldn’t trust their β€œappraised” value of the vehicle you anticipate to trade in, far below even a good condition value from Kelly Blue Book! I came from Iowa to to buy a truck from Obaugh Chevrolet solely on Arthurs word and honesty and he did not disappoint. After being burned the week prior by a different dealership in a different state I was hesitant to travel this far again for the truck I was looking for. Arthur was immediate in insuring that I was informed and up to speed with the condition of the used vehicle I was interested in. He left me with little worry or fear in taking a flight from Iowa to Virginia to see this truck in person. Once there he was welcoming and professional. The truck was exactly as he said it would be, and in all it was a painless and effortless transaction. If all salesman and dealerships were this forward and honest we as consumers would be better off. If you need someone whom you can trust to sell you a quality vehicle, I recommend calling and asking for Arthur.

He answered all of my questions, was professional, and did extra research to find the right vehicle to fit all my wants and needs. Mike Prewer helped set my phone up to the stereo and went over how to work everything (we all know how hard new technology can be to learn). He also helped me transfer and put in my kids car seats in the new vehicle. Josh Shifflett and Adam Moguin was very helpful during all the financial steps and final paperwork. Melissa Cline let us use her desk to sign papers. Everyone worked together as a team and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect!

I recommend using Charlie Obaugh Kia for vehicle needs. From the first time I visited there to the moment I drove my car off the lot I was treated with kindness. I highly recommend going to see Beth she worked very well with my time schedule and even offered to pick me up after dropping off my rental car. Very friendly service by her. Even after all the paperwork work was done she personally took the car to the service department to check the tire pressure for me.
