In my area, there is a Sam Ash and Guitar Center situated directly across from one another. When I need anything guitar, drum, or recording related you’ll find me at Sam Ash every time. Yes, there is more selection because it’s a bigger location but that’s only a small part of it. What keeps me going back to Sam Ash is the amazing customer service. The employees are knowledgeable and have been working there for as long as I can remember. The same cannot be said about my Guitar Center which seems to be a revolving door at this point, with each new hire being less knowledgeable about all things music than the last. Highly recommend this Sam Ash to anyone who wants more selection and better staff. If that’s not what you’re looking for Guitar Center is perfect for you.

I had a great experience at the location on Rt22 in Springfield, NJ.I had a audio need and I met the audio expert employee, Reginald, who was outstanding! He was very proficient, professional & personable. He went the distance to ensure I was totally satisfied and not just make a sale.He is definitely an asset to the San Ash establishment!!!! It would also be a great sign of employee appreciation, if Reginald would be recognized and commended for his outstanding work ethics. I am the last person to leave reviews (good or bad) anywhere. But yesterday i took off from work to go guitar shopping for my birthday. I went to Guitar Center first and got mediocre help from the staff. I was the only person in the store, and the available staff member of 3-5 were hardly helping me. I left after an hour to walk across the street to Sam Ash. There was one man, Mike, working the guitar area. This guy was AMAZING. He was helping EVERYONE, and if he left you to help someone else, he would communicate it to you very professionally. He helped me pick a beautiful guitar out, and he was even willing to change strings and adjust the necks of the guitars that i wanted to try out. I was probably there for 2.5 hours, and this guy truly was there to help me and everyone while also getting to know us as guitarists. I picked my a guitar with a floyd rose, and this man put on my new strings, got the action down to how i wanted it and even helped me get the floyd rose balanced with the string tension vs the two screws in the back that supported the tremolo system. I walked out of there with a finely-tuned, beautiful guitar. I will send all of my guitar students to that shop.

Got my first guitar here a few days ago. Sales person was very friendly, I told the sales person that I wanted the guitar set up, and he said it would not be a problem. After going home I noticed some fret buzz and after doing a little research I realized the sales person lied to me about setting up the guitar. I found a local music shop and took the guitar there, the action was more then double the recommend specs and the saddle was not set right.

Went to purchase an Alto Stealth from the Rt 22 store...It was not in stock, but the gentleman assured me I could get it from the warehouse in two days. He was very knowledgeable about the product and I received it even earlier than his delivery projection.......the product works as advertised..a great experienceMy second visit to the store was met with the same friendly professionalism.....I has some issues due to my ignorance of the product..and I got lucky...the same gentleman who sold me the product initially helped me again this time. He took the time to instruct me on the better use of the product...and I felt fully informed once I left the store.....Hats off to Dave and the staff @ Sam Ash on RT22........one more grand experience..Five Stars Again!!

I love this particular location so much because of the people that are working in there. The general manager George is such a great and professional person. Also all the workers over there have a great positive attitude especially one of the manager Reginald. He always know what’s right for the customers and literally takes the time to make sure all Sam Ash customers are comfortable and walking out with a great experience in the store. You can tell that he is very passionate at what he does.

Local SamAsh RT-22 (SpringField, NJ)Great experience, I went to get my guitar serviced.Got it Tuned Perfectly, the Neck was cleaned, the whole body was cleaned, it looks just as it did on the Display Case. Most people say it’s not worth to pay the extra, I would say otherwise, I got the 2 Year Plan, I don’t regret it. I can comeback and have them fix up anything wrong or just have them Clean it and Apply Oil to the FretBoard and make it look Brand New.I can’t wait to go back, they attended me right away and my Guitar was waiting for me, all I had to do was call them to let them know the Day and Time I would show up to pick it up.

Brought my friend in for his first electric guitar. Duke was our salesman. My buddy is just a beginner at 63 and has a good beginner acoustic. I told him its time for an electric. This store had such a great vibe and three different employees worked on helping me get the best price for three guitars my son wanted to sell. We had recently been offered an amount from two dealers that seemed untrustworthy They were efficient, methodical and friendly. The entire experience was fantastic and made me want to play an instrument ! Beautiful wall of guitars. all the personnel seemed to be so focused on helping customers. Cant say enough about my positive experience!

Great customer service. I had called earlier and was informed that the guitar stringing service would take 2-3 days. As my daughter and I were about the drop off the guitar, Dave Lancet approached us and asked what the guitar was. We said acoustic, he and the manager talked, and we were told that we could wait for it to be done in 30 minutes. Nice! Will definitely be going back to this store.

Took a lot longer then expected to get serviced maybe they were a bit under stafed for the day but they were very helpful and I got what I needed... (except the DDJ 1000 srt)

I brought my old guitar across the street, it needed a saddle,strings and tuning. The repair guy told me the saddle would be $150! He then said its old really not worth fixing, and I could get a new guitar cheaper than fixing it. I decided after reading the great reviews of this store to go see what they might be able to do. Josh in repairs was able to fix my old (sentimental) guitar for $57!!! I picked it up a few days later, Duke helped me find a case for it. I highly recommend this store, for everyone there seems to really like working there, and like to help you get exactly whats right for you. Thanks guys !!!

Ordered an Epiphone Guitar and case. Guitar arrived in just a few days. Box was a mess but guitar looks to be in good shape. The case on the other which was listed as in stock turned out to on backorder. This lead to some confusion but Sam Ash worked with me to make things right. Only had guitar for about a week so dont feel like I can give much more than a first impressions review. The Sheraton II Pro is a nice looking instrument. Appears to be well made. Cant see much difference in. appearance between the Sheraton and my Gibson Les Paul Std. Im pretty much a beginner so got lots to lean but nothing negative stands out. Seems to be easy to play and sounds pretty good to my uneducated ear.Only issue so far with this purchase has been the availability of the case. Another COVID caused issue. I deducted one start due to the inconvenience caused by a series of confusing emails, billings and ultimate refunds. At this point all issues seemed to be settled satisfactorily and Im a happy camper.

This is my go-to Sam ash location for guitar and bass equipment. Theyve got a great staff full of knowledgable and helpful salespeople. This makes for a smooth and pleasant buying experience. Not all Sam Ash locations are created equally. The team here is exceptional. I just bought a brand new guitar off of Dave L.. I recommend working with him if you are looking to buy.

It was terrible. There was only one person helping customers. I was second in line. Took over an hour and a half to fix violin strings when he told me it’ll only take 15 minutes. He kept on helping other customers while working on the violin. We don’t like going to Sam Ash because every time we go there, it always takes so long to get help. We only go there as a last resort. Not our first choice.

Salesman was great. Was there on 12/29 around 2pm. Got a Fender ultra precision bass with a price match. Salesman was also very nice to my kid and encouraged him to start playing the drums if he wanted to learn.

Surprisingly good selection of high quality used instruments. They let you play until youre sure and satisfied.

I just made an online purchase of a used Cannonball Sax from Sam Ash Music in Springfield, NJ. It was described as being in mint condition with no dents or scratches, like new. Received it today and the condition was exactly as described. Its a beautiful horn in true mint condition. In addition, it was packaged in a very professional manner, both inside the case and around the exterior of the case. It would have taken something catastrophic to actually damage the contents of the shipping box. Inside the cased, the horn was placed in a soft bag, as were each one of the necks and mouthpiece. Very nicely done, Sam Ash!

Nice gentleman was helping us buying a hukulele and we spend over $200. As we were done and ready to pay his manager showed up and told him to go help other customers he would help us totally interrupted our shopping experience. He seems very rude and unprofessional (manager) because the place was getting a little busy. The salesman was really good as his job and the manager has no professional manners to tell the salesman finish his job.

Its a great place. Plenty of great staff and people. The tech is a very big help (and a Death fan). Ive bought a few guitars and effects from here. My one issue is an employee. I dont remember his name off the top of my head, but hes an older fellow with longer grey hair and double chin. He always seems to be agitated and very rude, I actively avoid him as much as possible. Its whats keeping this place from a 5. They have amazing clinics and gear.

I went to Sam Ash Music Store in Springfield needing advice on purchasing a Keyboard. I have never played an instrument and was going to start taking piano lessons. I was directed to speak with Reggie. Reggie was so helpful, knowledgeable and patient. I ended up purchasing a Keyboard, stand and bench. When I met with my teacher for the first time, she had not expected me to have gotten a keyboard so quickly but she was very pleased to know that it has 88 weighted keys.Thank you Reggie for advising me and helping me in my choice. Took my instrument into the shop about eight days ago. The technician repaired it and I received a call letting me know when to pick it up. Service was great from drop off to pick up. And the price of the repairs was reasonable too!

Dave was very helpful and accommodating. Unfortunately, the store didnt have what I needed and the item was backordered, but I was still thankful to get good advice and try out some guitars.

This place is my go to for all things music. Whether it be books, gear for myself, gifts for people or just advice from the high quality musicians who work here. I’m a percussionist myself and I can say that don’t waste your time with the guitar enter across the street, if you’re a drummer this store has more options and higher quality gear. If you’re looking for gear of any kind, no matter the department, this place delivers.
