My experience with Dr. John was absolutely delightful! Who knew you could actually enjoy going to the eye doctor? His exam of my eyes was the most thorough and comprehensive I have ever received. In addition, he was genuinely kind and explained everything he was doing and seeing in great detail. I recommend this practice without hesitation!

The doctor was very clear, fun, intelligent, thorough, and skilled at communicating and staying organized. My health was assessed thoroughly and everything was explained very well. Dr Levine is truly helping to save my daughters vision! She started with glasses in preschool and now 4 years later has the vision of someone 4x her age. We are using eye drops at night and a check up every few months to monitor the changes and Dr Levine is right on top of things. Anytime I have a question he takes the time to answer and explain everything to me. I would highly recommend Vision Care Specialists!!

I didnt see an optometrist there. I just went to get a new pair of glasses. The opticians were very polite and professional and take Covid-19 precautions very seriously.

This was my first ever eye exam and glasses buying experience and I must give the folks at Vision Care Specialist a AAA+++ rating. Dr. Levine and the staff I interacted with were all great. They made me feel very comfortable and answered all my questions without hesitation. After the exam, they worked with me to find just the right frames. Even ordering a pair in an alternative color for me to try on, only for me to pick yet another pair that caught my eye when I went back to see them. I cant wait to pick them up.They do take their Covid precautions seriously, but everything is well thought out and I again felt very safe and comfortable during both visits. I would most definitely recommend them to family and friends and you.

This place is amazing. I have been going to see Dr Abbondanza for 10+ years. He is really passionate about what he does and is excellent at his job--always gets complicated issues right on the first try. I moved over an hour away and I still came back to see him. During Covid, his team has gone out of their way to help me. I needed new glasses but because of underlying health conditions, I couldnt come into the building to pick out new frames. Working with Kristin in the optical dept, she was open to figuring out how to get me a new pair, which included coming out to my car to get an ancient pair of glasses out of my trunk, taking them back to the office to do measurements, and bringing them down again. She researched to get me an almost exact same frame and had them sent to me. Amazing. These are trying times and I cant thank them enough for helping me out of a tough spot. I am forever in their debt. You wont go wrong by using them. They are good, good people.

The experience my 8year-old had with vision therapy was nothing short of amazing! After many months of hard work my daughter’s reading level skyrocketed! Her teacher couldn’t believe the progress and honestly we couldn’t either! If you do the “homework” and put in the time this therapy really works! The best reward is seeing my daughter have an easier time at school and how proud she is of her accomplishments!

The Vision Care Specialist team is professional and friendly. It is so evident that they like their job. They are efficient and knowledgeable. The office is attractive and clean. I have never had as comprehensive an eye exam as I did with Dr John at Vision Care Specialists. He was very thorough and made me feel very comfortable. Im moving from (really) old hard contact lenses to gas-permeable ones for which Ill see Dr Paul in a few weeks, and I just saw Dr John for an exam and to be fitted with glasses for those few times when my vanity allows me to wear them. The technician who helped me pick out my glasses was friendly and really helpful. An all-around exceptional experience. Highly recommend. Oh, and they figured out all the insurance for me too!

Dr. John was very thorough, and took his time doing the evaluation. He gave great care in explaining the results to my brother as well as shared information for good visual hygiene. My brothers prescription is a bit of a difficult one and he said that it was the best prescription he ever had.. Highly recommend!

My daughter was referred to Dr. Abbondanza after my sister-in-law (also an optometrist) had noticed she was having some tracking issues. She was evaluated and a very thorough and comprehensive vision therapy plan was put in place. The team and Vision Care Specialist was amazing and everyone there was supportive and encouraging.During the tail end of her treatment, we were all put into lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic. VCS communicated their plan throughout the entire time. Not wanting her to miss her last few session (she was SO close to finishing) they organized online sessions with Dr. Abbondanza so my daughter would stay on track.Her follow up evaluation went great and I have seen a noticeable improvement in her reading skills and comprehension as well as her self confidence! She was a good student to begin with, but as the material gets more difficult and dense I feel she now has to tools to keep up with her studies. Thanks to Dr. Abbondanza and his team at VCS!

I cant say enough good things about them. The staff is super nice and friendly and makes you feel welcome. Ive see Dr. Abbondanza for 13 years, 3 different homes and through 2 jobs (but still need to google how to spell his last name!). Hes seen me through a couple of eye related concerns and kept on top of them while keeping me calm and grounded to know Id be fine. I also love the technology there that takes amazing deep scans of the eye (its pretty cool!). Glad Ive stuck around for so long :)

This is an outstanding practice in every regard. My husband and I have been patients for many years, and have always found our optometrist Dr. Paul Levine to be highly knowledgeable, equipped with the knowledge and equipment to handle a wide range of vision problems, and dedicated to solving vision problems for his patients. He figured out a very neat solution for problems I was having at the computer and reading, and it makes a big difference in my daily life. Added to that, the staff is always warm, efficient and highly accommodating. Hard to imagine a practice doing a better job than these folks. My highest recommendation, and thanks.

Excellent exams, highly professional and courteous office staff but maybe most importantly, these doctors provide outstanding after-hours emergency care even on a holiday! Im remiss in not providing this on-line recommendation sooner - this year I was seen Memorial Day weekend after something entered my eye while getting a manicure. Coincidentally a few years ago on Memorial Day weekend my young daughter was playing outdoors and a tiny piece of debris from a tree got in her eye. In both cases we could not flush out the partial, it was painful and we could have landed in the Emergency Room. Instead with one phone call we were welcomed and seen immediately by Dr Abondanza in his office. He assessed the situation, made us more comfortable (with eye drops), removed the debris, wrote a script to prevent infection and we were on our way! He let us know he was glad he could help and that we were able to avoid the ER - that likely would not have had equipment or experience for quick treatment and a positive outcome. (Not to mention the possible wait times to be seen and certainly the expense/high co-pay.) This is outstanding patient care. I wish all my physician relationships included this kind of support. I offer my highest recommendation to these doctors and practice.

I first went to Dr. Levine for my sons Ortho-K lens from friends referral. I am so glad that I made the right choice even though it takes me 30 minutes one-way trip (it totally worth it!). Dr. Devine is best of the best. He never sits on second-to-best solutions. Even when the lens were already fitting well and my sons eye-sight had dramatically improved, Dr Levine still tried to find the best fitting from all perspectives. Dr. Levine and his assistants were so patient and encouraging that they spent hours teaching my 8-year old son fitting the lens himself (my son is totally independent now! ). Dr. Levine is also fun and humorous. The pricing is also very reasonable. Highly recommended!

I can’t say enough good things about vision care specialists Dr. Abbondanza and Dr. Levine and their staff. Almost a year and a half ago I was suffering very badly from chronic dry eye from an auto immune disease called Sjögren’s syndrome. I was seeing Dr. Abbondanza at least once a week during the summer of 2017. In March 2018 I went to see Dr. Levine and he fitted me with Scalera lenses. From the first day that I had those lenses in my eyes my chronic dry eye was 100% relieved, these lenses have been a lifesaver for me Thank you to Dr. Abbondanza and Dr. Levine for being diligent in finding something that would help me. They are my true heroes, for I was suffering immensely thanks again Dr. John Abbondanza and Dr. Paul Levine. Please go see they if you want caring doctors to help you 😁

Dr. Levine and his staff are very well educated in both regular vision care and Orthokeratology (the wearing of specially designed contacts while sleeping that temporarily reshape the cornea for glasses/contact-free vision thought the day). I now have 20/20 vision throughout the day without wearing glasses or contacts, and I wouldn’t go back for anything! My vision used to get worse every year, but since wearing Ortho-K lenses, it hasn’t worsened in the past 2-3 years. Vision Care Specialists has offered great service and is always helpful with any questions we have, as well as being very accommodating to our living a good distance away from the office. In fact, Dr. Levine has called personally to answer my questions. I highly recommend Vision Care Specialists, especially for anyone looking to try ortho-k lenses. No more dirty lenses for me!
