To be going out of business and have 60 to 80 % off everything in the store was over priced! Most of it I can buy at Walmart for a fraction of the price.

Black Friday is hard on everyone. The floor staff and cashiers were great. Helpful and communicative they made sure you got what you were asking for.

I quit going in there for a while. It appeared to have turned into a discount outlet store. Almost looked like a junk store. They would have some good deals but I never found much there. So glad they are back to a normal JCPenny store. I found some nice clothes there again. The saleswoman was nice and helpful. Will definitely start shopping there again.

I worked there for several months. It was a horrible work environment. The general manager Joey doesnt know how to communicate with his employees and always finds a way to threaten their jobs or put them down. And the stuff they have on clearance is filthy. A ton of it came from Houston and had a strong mildew odor. They have one elderly woman working there that is always cold so they never run the AC. Its like a sauna in that store. And its so dirty. The bathrooms are always disgusting and its like the guest think its funny to poop on the floors and walls .The womens restroom is the worst .the dressing rooms are just as nasty .People use them as a restroom! I used to think JCPenney was a good store until I worked there. Its a joke and not a funny joke at that . I wouldnt take my family in there for fear of them getting sick from the moldy clothes and body fluids that are all over that place.

Glad we still have JC Penney in Shawnee. I like the customer service at this store. I like the young mens section and choices. The ladies section is great too. I do not like the reduced baby/toddler area now, thus the four stars.

Not awful. Cluttered, racks are pretty close together. Different music in each section can be weird. The snake-like line of impulse buy items you have to go by before getting to the registers grows every day it seems.

The sales people were very helpful and friendly. A young man showed my daughter where to find what she needed and the two young women who waited on me made it a pleasant experience.

Cant finish dying quickly enough. Overpriced goods frequently marked down to only about 50% more than youd pay anywhere else for equal or better quality. Only Sears was worse, and they at least sold more than clothes and cheap jewelry.If you suffer from a spouse who cant resist spending unwisely at a 70%off sale, keep her away from this place. All that stuff in her closet she never wears probably started at this store.There must be some retailer willing to take over that space. Anyone. Please.

If you like getting racially profiled this is the place to go. I have never stolen a thing in my life. Never had to and Im blessed for that. But the sure fact that Im followed because of my race is ridiculous.

I believe this is the only jcpenney in the state that condenses all the clearance items from all the other stores in a special section. The bras pictured were less than $1. Its super hit and miss. When you get lucky, you get really lucky!

This store doesnt have the selection they did in the past. There are only 3 places in the entire store to check out also which was a big issue for me during the holidays. I believe thats only 5 registers if theyre all open. My daughter tried to exchange a pair of pants 4 days after Christmas and she was told that she wouldnt be able to because she didnt have a receipt. The clerk was too busy to be bothered with the hassel of an exchange apparently. I made the exchange myself today with no problem however. Kohls has had my business since the store in Shawnee opened.

There was a email coupon that said that if you spent 40.00 dollars on clothes that you would get 40 %off your purchase, but because there was a sign up that said buy one get one half off they wouldnt give us the 40%off, which the half off would only be 25% off, so we didnt buy anything.

Why would the Store Manager lock the exit doors @ 6:30pm on a Thursday, when they dont even close till 9:00pm! Inconvenience.
