I love Distinctive Cabinets. We had a house fire and decided to remodel the kitchen and bathroom - an overwhelming task! Darcy helped me design a new layout, as well as choose cabinets and counter tops. She also made many helpful suggestions about accessories and other materials. My kitchen is absolutely perfect and a reflection of what I like best, and the bathroom is warm and welcoming. She is great to work with. If I ever remodel again, I will only call Distinctive Cabinets.

Choosing cabinets for our kitchen remodel was very overwhelming--- until I worked with Darcie and Distinctive Cabinets. She spent so much time with me, answering my endless questions, prompting me to think about our layout in terms of having a unique and fully functional design. Darcie went about and beyond for us to not only end up with a kitchen I love, but to enjoy the process which can be very intimidating without her professional advice. The quality of the cabinets is amazing. I highly recommend them!

The person who answers the phone can be quite rude. She was adamant that this was a professional business, but didnt behave that way on the phone. She became upset when I objected to her curt an unnecessary attitude. If thats how you interact with someone before you have their money, I wonder what its like once you have it in your hands.Edit 8/2018: The owner states that they think Im a contractor. Im not. Im actually a paying customer who was working on MY PERSONAL project. They would not sell to me, the end consumer. All of this would have been fine, except that the lady on the other side of the phone treated me with contempt for asking if it was possible to buy something. Instead trying to find a way to do business, she spoke to me as if I was beneath her. Her follow up post simply shows that she still doesnt understand that she was speaking to a POTENTIAL CUSTOMER, not a contractor.

Distinctive Countertops installed our bathroom cabinets and countertops. They were very helpful with the decision making, and clear about how the process would go and what they needed in order to do the job right. They are meticulous. Now, seven years later, I still walk into the bathroom and am delighted with the warmth and practicality of the wood cabinets and the beauty of the countertops. When we redo the kitchen- theyll be the first phone call I make.

First and foremost, I am not a contractor so when I called this company for information, I was not sure what I would get. Home Depot and Lowes where incredibly horrible about explaining how to get Corian or Quartz counters and I found the person on teh phone to be very knowledgeable, up front, honest and patient with me as I ask question on how to get counters and what the process is. I ended up using them on a counter project for my two bathrooms that were remodeled and they were great. Timely, professional and up front on what to expect. the bonus was getting a great deal on material and the final product turned out better than expected. - Would recommend this company to anyone looking to have counters done in the home or bsiness.

Meh. Buyer beware; Look elsewhere for your countertops you’ll be glad that you did.Distinctive Cabinets and Countertops LACKS sound communication and ensuring customer satisfaction. We had Distinctive provide Corian coutertops for our kitchen remodel. Our sink is an undermount and has two basins of differing size. During the templating process the installer specifically asked how we wanted the coutertop profile cut for the sink; either an oversized square cut (typically seen with the extra large single bowl sink) OR a tighter cut to follow the inner profile of the two differing sized sink basins. We requested the latter.Fast forward to the day of install and time for review of the finished product: What we got was the oversized square cut (typically seen with the extra large single bowl sink). When I asked what happened, Distinctive indicated that they did not have the template for the profile we wanted and that it would have resulted in additional cost as a result. Hmmm, that sure seems like a conversation that they should have had with us when this became evident. Being the consumer, spending good money on coutertops, we should have been afforded the opportunity to weigh in on this choice; we could have agreed to the “added costs”, change the sink mount to top mount or procured a different sink. Why Distinctive felt this was their call to make and feel it acceptable to NOT communicate this change to us prior to fabrication is beyond us.Anyway, I mulled this over for the rest of the day and later that night I reached out to Darcy with Distinctive Cabinets and Countertops letting her know we were seriously bummed that we didn’t get the look we had communicated and subsequently expected.Darcy’s response, “Thanks for sharing you thoughts.Wishing you a wonderful Holiday Season, bestdarcy”WOW, really not the follow up we were anticipating. My mom raised me on the belief that if I do not have something nice to say about someone that I shouldn’t say anything at all, so I’ll refrain from telling you just what I think of Darcy Niedermeyer, “owner and sole employee” of Distictive Cabinets and Countertops. My wife replied to Darcy commenting that we had hoped Distinctive would be more interested in customer satisfaction and that for the amount we paid for their services and product, we are very disappointed that we are not completely satisfied.Distinctive’s followup: CRICKETS, not a word.Clearly, once Distinctive Cabinets and Countertops has your money, they will make decisions on your behalf where they have no business doing such and they ultimatley don’t care whether you’re satisfied with the end product. They certainly don’t care about repeat business or word of mouth referrals.Lesson here: There are plenty of trained, insured and liscensed countertop outfits around the Seattle area; you’d be best served utilizing any of those outfits over choosing Distinctive Cabinets and Countertops any day.Devin Yedo - dissatisfied homeowner
