We‘ve had the pleasure of storing our boat with Waypoint in the dry stack over the past couple summers, and would definitely recommend it to others. The storage costs are reasonable compared to other dry stacks and the quick turnaround time for water drops enabled our busy family to get out a lot on the water. The staff is very friendly, responsive, and accommodating - for instance, our boat was too small to fit lengthwise on the lift truck so they improvised another technique to get it in the water. We also had some minor repairs done and bought a trailer through Waypoint, both of which went smoothly and were reasonably priced.

I am so glad that I went to Waypoint Marine for my boat repair. My friends and I co-own a 1984 Carver 3227. We had bought it used without a marine survey. It was in working condition but it quickly started to have problems. One of the engines even stopped. We took it to Waypoint Marine and after 2 hours of estimating, they gave us a bid for the work. It was 1/3 of the price that we got from another Marine repair shop and Waypoint had the best reviews so we selected them. Their estimated hours, approach to the diagnosis and transparency about the repair were all 5 stars. The boat ended up staying with them a little longer than anticipated because one of the manufacturers of one of the boat parts was delayed in shipping it. There was great communication the whole way through though and even though they were working through the holidays, the pandemic and with the impacts the vaccine distribution is having on our distribution networks, I am very happy with the work done. Our boat is back to full working order and if I have any future boat work, I would definitely return to Waypoint Marine. We worked with an associate named Carly who was also great at responding to my questions and keeping me informed. Thanks Waypoint team for your support in fixing our boat and helping to educate me on how to maintain it.

Brent and Jose just did a quick install of new transponder in my boat. Brent really knows his stuff. He went over all the possible problems we might have in the install, which I really appreciated. Jose did the work, and is very easy to work with.In fact, we had a bit of technical trouble from my boat, but José was encouraging and informative about how to get through it. He had to come back later to finish the install, but made it happen with no drama, and within the budget we’d discussed. Oh, and the new sounder works even better than I’d hoped. Im so glad that Waypoint Marine is there to support the Seattle boating community. They are the best in the state for inflatables and offer good brands and the most bang for your buck. They also have outboards, parts, service, dry storage w/ forklift, and so much more.Perhaps the most valuable thing about Waypoint is their customer service. The staff are true professionals, passionate about what they do, and always give me free advice when I call. I recently picked up some parts to overhaul my Tohatsu. Not only were they the only outfit in town that had them in stock (at a fair price!), they gave me advice on which parts I needed to change. I mentioned them I was having trouble getting my inflatable clean, and they sold me some of the soap they use in there shop. Total game changer.Lastly, they are committed to their COVID prevention protocols. They are open to the public, and I felt safe going inside when I saw how much they were doing to protect people. Thanks, Waypoint!!

After my first phone call with Brenda I knew we would be right at home at this marina, she gave a very friendly and almost family like welcome to us! This Marina is the complete package! The drystacking is always on time and very flexible. If they can help you with your boat in anyway they can they will! My husband and I took our boat out over 35 times this summer and on our last day out we ran into some battery problems, but knowing Waypoint was just one call away really eased our minds. I bought a 40hp outboard from Waypoint. They said they would have it in 5-7 days. I called and checked in with Gary, the sales guy. No response. I emailed Gary, no response. Finally, I called a third time and he responded to say “it maybe on tomorrow’s shipment.” It finally arrived, we picked a day to come get it. The day before I got there he tells me “there’s no propeller for it.” Not something I expected to hear the day before I made the 90 minute trip to Waypoint. I emailed him and said I wanted a specific prop and fuel tank. When I arrived on the plan day the motor was ready-ish. It was on a stand but not set up the way I expected, which could have easily be remedied with some communication beforehand. Something like “hey, these 40hp motors only come to be bolted onto the transom, you’re aware of that, right?” Here’s where we take a turn...I take the motor. They load it in my car without oil, no owners manual, no copy of the receipt, no warranty info. Gary hands me 4 qts of oil off the shelf and says it takes 3.5 qts - which was wrong, it takes 2.1qts.I ask if they have the prop I emailed him about. Gary’s response? “I sent that email to parts.“ Well, parts never contacted me and Gary didn’t reply. In person, I spoke to the parts guy and ordered a prop. And a starting battery - a $433 Bill. They said it will be here in about a week. I wait 5 days. I call, and the prop is there on a Thursday morning. I call and say “Hey, I’ll pay the shipping or whatever, but can you overnight it to me or expedite it?” The parts guys says, “It will be there tomorrow, anything in Western Washington basically comes in a day.” Surprise surprise guess why doesn’t show up “tomorrow” or “the next day?” The prop. So here we are, me calling Waypoint yet again to get my motor that was supposed to be ready to go, about two weeks ago.I foolishly gave these guys $7,000 for a working motor and have a multi-week pain in the rear trying to track everything down. DO NOT USE THESE GUYS.

AVOID AVOID AVOID! There are far more one star reviews on this business and the shoddy work they do if you scroll down. Dont be fooled by the 5-star reviews! My husband and I are commercial fishermen in Alaska. Last March we paid over $600 to have our commercial-grade fishing raft repaired for an air leak. This was already a ridiculously expensive price for this kind of repair, but we gave them a shot anyway. Turns out, all they did was spray out the nozzle and give it back to us. HUGE mistake. We got it out to Bristol Bay last summer and the raft was still leaking air! I dont know what kind of work they did other than spraying out the nozzle, but we do know that they stole over $600 from us.

I really want to like this facility because it’s the only place that will service a Suzuki outboard engine that’s accessible from the water (my boat is on a dock on the lake and I don’t have a trailer). From the start, just trying to make an appointment was kind of a hassle because I wanted to wait while the work was being done (which I thought was reasonable for what should be a quick job), but Carly, the service rep kept insisting that I needed to leave the boat there for an indeterminate number of days because she needed to order parts once I brought in the boat. She was polite about it, but we had to go back and forth over several phone calls until we finally agreed on the solution that I would pre-order the parts and then bring the boat in once the parts had arrived. Carly took my credit card info and then e-mailed me an invoice to authorize payment on the parts as well as 4 hours of labor. I didn’t think anything of the 4 hour labor charge at the time because Carly told me previously that their hourly labor rate meant they would bill for whatever time was needed to do the work so I just figured she budgeted that much time, but if it didn’t take that long then great, I wouldn’t be billed for it. It took them less than 2 hours to finish so I was a little surprised when I saw the final bill and it was indeed for 4 hours. I asked the service manager, Jake about the discrepancy and he claimed he had 2 guys working for 2 hours each. I politely informed Jake that I was waiting up the hill on NW 54th St eating my lunch and watching them work on my boat and I only saw 1 person working on it, but Jake insisted that there was other work going on that I couldn’t see. He also mentioned the work of hauling out the boat from the water and said he needed 2 guys to work the forklift (do they charge their drystack storage clients an hourly labor charge every time they want to launch their boats?) I had no other option at that point but to pay the amount demanded of me in order to get my boat back.I really hope there was just some breakdown in communication or a simple misunderstanding, so if someone smarter than me can please comment and let me know if it’s reasonable to pay $1000 for routine maintenance on a Suzuki DF200 engine I’d appreciate it. If thats the going rate then so be it. Like I said, I really want to like this facility and I’d like to bring my boat back here but I kinda think I got ripped off. I really want to be convinced otherwise. The majority of the $1000 charge was 4 hours of labor at $175/hr which totaled $700. And the work that was done was oil/filter change, spark plug replacement, impeller replacement, and gear oil. Since it was routine maintenance the engine was running fine when I brought it in so I can’t even comment on the quality of their work, but everything seems fine so I’ll give them 2 stars.

Went out of their way to help in a pinch. Our dinghy outboard died during test prep for a rapidly approaching scheduled cruise. Since we had been considering a larger engine I started calling around for pricing. Waypoint pricing was best in the region (of the six that I called) and they were the first to return my call. Given the short lead time we were ultimately unable to order the outboard through them (plan on 5-7 business days for most brands), however they were able to recommend alternative providers with stock. They were conveniently located near Ballard Locks. I will definitely keep them on my list for future needs as they are a one stop shop and very responsive to customer needs.

Not a great motor service provider. Brought my 9.9 Yamaha Outboard in to them. They had it for 2 weeks, told me they were unsure what was wrong with it (“either your head or your block is cracked, we don’t know which, but the motor is basically junk”) and then charged me $213 for the time to diagnose it. I, having a suspicion that they incorrectly diagnosed it, took it to Auburn Sports and Marine down in Auburn. ASM fixed the motor (turns out the thermostat was bad and letting moisture in) and did a full tune up for $650 in less than a week.

Poor customer service, took 6 weeks to repair boat and it wasnt fixed, never returned calls. I read their response, justifying their poor service as being during the busy season. However, they repeatedly said they would look at it on a specific day, another week would go by, nothing done. We had to keep calling them, they never initiated contact despite promises to do so. When they finally said it was fixed we went to pick it up and could tell as soon as we started the engine they had not fixed the problem. Clearly they had not tested it after their repair. It turned out the issue was exactly what we explained when we brought it in. We were out $1000 for a repair that did not fix the problem, no apology, just another inflated repair bill. And my name isnt on the data base because they insisted on dealing with my husband even though I was handling the matter.

I cannot recommend this company to anyone looking for engine repair. I brought a dinghy engine here with a spun hub. They eagerly agreed to repair and told me they would have a quote (if not repaired) in two business days. After two weeks, they had not even sent me a quote for the repair, so I called them. They had forgotten. Ok, the next day I get a quote. The quoted work was well over the worth of the engine. I went back and described the work that I needed done (closer to 1/3 the value of the engine). They agreed and said they would have it done soon after the parts arrived. Cool, I thought, parts should arrive in four days or so. I called them a week later after receiving no contact. Were just waiting on the parts. Theyre expected to arrive tomorrow at the latest. I called three more times almost daily with the response it will be done tomorrow. After a month I finally got my dinghy back for a job that took 1.5hrs to perform. This company does not communicate, is slow, and way overpriced. The hourly rate for the engine work was $159. I have not seen a rate anywhere else of more than $125/hr. The only benefit of this company is their dock.

Seriously regretting having done business with this company. Lease space was unpleasant and docks are unsafe. When we tried to reach an agreement about safety, (or lack thereof), we were told that, They could have our slip re-rented within a week.Photos that I sent to a coast guard inspector depicting the conditions of marina (electrical and wiring, multiple boats rafted together blocking exits, docks falling apart and cleats that feel off rotting wood...) prompted a quick reply from him of leave now. We ended up losing over a months moorage as well as prepaid pumpouts we never received. But it was worth it to move away from a bad scenario.Terrible place.*Additionally, while there, our outboard engine was sent into their shop for repair. $165 dollars later, it still did not run. We took it to Ballard Inflatable and they fixed it for much less; told us it was just a carburator issue and then shook their heads when we informed them of where we had taken it prior. As an aviation mechanical instructo by trade, I took up working here while finishing an engineering degree to maybe learn a new trade and get out of a factory for awhile. It quickly became apparent this place has no idea what is going on as the only certified techs quit, illegal payment (or lack there of) of employees while asking for overtime, and lack of any documentation of work orders. Also while not ensuring correct routing of benefits or hours worked, they told employees we had a bad attitude. This is probably because while asking about insurance, we get told it doesnt matter and to basically not ask again about the insurance as its not a big deal and overtime goes into a regularly paid bank which we need to ask to take. To my own fault, I will admit, I didnt care much as no one cared much my work or effort. What workers are left know the games being played and do not care about your boat as they are jerked around by the company. Our owner recently told us he is good to us as we have coffee and he gets a case of beer for us at the end of the workday. Show up with a boat after 430, and not one person (myself was included) would not have a Budweiser in hand. You also cant talk to one person who wont drop the c word, something racist, or sexist regardless of what customers are around. Show up any hour of the day and you will see the place riddled with Budweiser cans. As a non boat owner, this has seriously cured my curiosity of owning a boat, working with boats, or having a place work on it or store it. Do your self a favor and ask about certifications, any parameters set in place, shop tools (as most were indivually bought by the techs who left), and training, to do your work correctly. Also spend a minute to talk to workers in the yard and you will quickly know the quality of work that will be done due to lack of morale, confidence, and pay. I know I did work I wasnt qualified to do or trained on but was told to just do so I YouTubed it did the work and the writers probably sold the customer on having a qualified tech do your work. - A happily recent fired employee due to denting a truck as one of the only employees to drive without a DUI, a drug problem, or lack of a licence. I also did the daily beer runs at work around 4 and pulled off jobs to do so as no one could drive. Back to aviation it is for me. I was not the best employee self admittedly, but never felt one reason to give anywhere near my best due to circumstances and the company I shortly worked for. I could write a book on more stuff but i wont give this company an hour more of my time and need think this is more than likely enough. This is also the first time I ever felt compelled to review a company openly on social media. Good luck boaters and future emplyees!
