When ordering materials online, I saw copper sheet 110-0 (IN) had been discontinued. This copper is very soft and was perfect for my project application. I emailed asking if it was possible to get some. Nathan was very responsive to my inquiry, searched and found several sheets for me.Thank you!

Ordered some round bar stock, thought it would take a week to receive, received it in two days.When I received the order I thought I was missing an item, contacted them via email and the responded super super fast and gave me a status on the rest of the order. Web site is easy to use, they have a very wide selection of materials. I really like that you can get the size and amount you actually need, they have a lot of options there on the sheet metal. The standard shipping is very fast for me in detroit. The packing is very well done and prevents shipping damage. They have gotten all my orders correct. One thing that might be nice is a bit more info on the alloy specifics and properties, best uses and do not use for. You can do that research yourself, but maybe a link or something would take a great 5 star web site to a 6 star rating ;)

I’ve used Online Metals in Seattle for several orders now with good results. The will call staff in Seattle has always been very helpful and easy to talk to when receiving my metal purchase on site and they’ve reviewed the order with me to make sure I got everything in my order. Be prepared to load the materials yourself as I don’t think they’re allowed to help you load it outside the loading bay. The loading bay is about 5ft higher than the gravel parking area.I have had an issue with ordering online that caused some confusion and delay. I called customer service on a specific order because a discount wasn’t getting applied to the order (this issue has since been fixed, custom lengths were being charged at a much higher price than the preset lengths in the selection area) the customer service representative seemed inconvenienced by my request to place the order over the phone to make sure it was correct, since the website wasn’t allowing the proper pricing. I was told I should “just place the order and call back to have it corrected after you’ve paid”. In the end the order was placed properly and nothing was wrong. Another thing to be aware of is that some sheet metal is not available for pickup at certain facilities. I wanted to order a 4x8 sheet of diamond plate as well as a gauge steel sheet, but it only shipped from the Atlanta facility directly to my home. Which was going to be $200-300 shipping. So I had to get this material elsewhere locally. Aside from a few minor delays and issues, it’s been easy and convenient to order large quantities or materials. Plus I think it’s neat to get the random metal sample packs to try out some new materials or shapes that I wouldn’t normally use. Thanks!

When I was asked to Approve the order, i then noticed the mistake. I had contacted Online Metals about the mistake and asked if they would fix the order, which they did and without any hesitation. I live locally and have bought from Online Metals multiple times. I have always been able to find what I needed on the website but have occasionally called customer service for clarification; they were always helpful and friendly. My orders have always been processed quickly and ready for pickup (an option as opposed to having it shipped) within two days. The prices are far better than what one would find at a larger hardware store and, of course, there are far more options. I will continue to be a costumer for my future projects and recommend them to others.

The custom cut menu can be utilized if you need only a small piece however I like to order larger quantities at a time to help save on shipping. They run frequent 15-20% specials which help cover the shipping cost. I have checked local suppliers and even with shipping costs Online Metals is competitive or less expensive plus no hassle. Online metals is my go to place for metal. I really like that there is no minimum order. I live close to the OLM warehouse so I’m able to use will call and pick the stuff up the next day. When I have had orders shipped to me they came on time. I have never had a problem with any order.

I ordered some brass sheet custom cut into long strips to use as mounting for a project. The material was cut accurately and quickly. The will call option was also helpful and the staff were professional.

Ordered a 3/16 plate of aluminum 72X26 to fit my 1986 F-150 that I am restoring. This will go at the front of the bed with a cut out to place the tool box in and seal it as this will allow me to add a bed cover from the aluminum plate to the tailgate. That will allow for carrying bags in bed under a water tight cover. The order I received was damaged to the point that I would not be able to use due to severe scratches, I called and talked to Ashley and she ask if I had photos. She gave me an email to send them to and I received an email back stating that they would replace my shipment with a new order at no cost to me. Thank you Online Metals and Ashley!!!

Seems like everyone posting negative reviews expects this to be something is isnt. What it is: a fast and reliable metal stock supplier. You order online and have it shipped... or specify will call and wait for the email that says its ready (usually the same or following day) and go pick it up. Do this and you will have a pleasant experience and have all your metal needs covered.

Very rude when walking in with easy question. Hey online metals, your website does NOT list mild steel on the material drop down list so NO, i am not an idiot for not finding it. The piece I was looking for was a common one, a welding plate for pipe end.

Im a custom knife maker and use Online Metals very frequently for my steels. Normally for knifemaking you need to find niche suppliers for my type of materials but it always comes at a higher price and slower fulfillment time. Thats where Online Metals comes in! Theyre quick to ship and always send me precision ground and very flat bars of metal. The brass, copper, and titanium is also top notch quality. Normally my suppliers run out quickly on Titanium but Online Metals always has me covered. With the addition of their discounts they always seem to have I cant think of switching to another supplier for tool steels.Their website is also awesome for finding exactly what you need with the new selection process.RyanLCKT

This site is only for industrial applications where cosmetics are of no importance. I ordered aluminum sheets cut to a custom size for photo mounting; they arrived with tears and gouges along some of the edges -- huge and highly visible. On contacting them about it, they were very responsive and sent out another sheet, but it also suffered from a couple large gouges and had significant curvature around the edges, which the previous ones hadnt. So, I guess theyre trying, but their equipment must not be capable of cleanly cutting aluminum. Would be fine if I was ordering these to weld onto the side of a tractor, but for art, mounting, and any other aesthetically oriented application, Im afraid its not even close.

Crappy service. website implies materials are in stock and arrived at will call shop guys tried to substitute a 12 and 9 foot piece for the 20 foot piece I ordered. Actual delivery at will call was 10-12 instead of next day.Not only that the service counter personnel were angry because I could not take the substitution. Never have I had such bad service by someone who wanted my business.

I have been using online metals for over 8 years, both when I was living out of state and getting materials shipped, and now living in Seattle and using will-call. The service has always been great, the prices are unbeatable. I honestly was shocked to see the average review was as low as it is, and upon further inspection it seems like quite a few people are rating down for really absurd reasons.I have never had a problem with the customer service or materials, and I love the online ordering interface. The selection is also enormous, I dont think I have ever failed to find metal product in stock.You rock onlinemetals, keep doing what you are doing!

Ive purchased several times from Online and usually pick up to save dough. The only down side is their hours are difficult to work around for anyone with a day job. It would be great if Will Call were open just a few hours on Saturday. There are other options in Seattle tho and I just those as well.

This place is not worth coming to. I used to buy metal all the time here. But the people arent very friendly and take their sweet ass time anyway. They also quit selling metal without an order a few years ago. You cant just buy scrap anymore. They are very pricey too. Your better bet is Pacific industrial supply or even Metal supermarkets. Both accommodate walk in business.

I used to go to order from Online Metals so that I could drop by will call to get copper scrap for jewelry and small hobby work at the same time as picking up orders, but they stopped selling their drops about when the scrap price of copper peaked, probably attracting riffraff scrappers because they were very generous with drop pricing. Unfortunately not worth going to this place any more.
