FIVE STAR experience as a seller. They were very friendly, professional and efficient. They had gone through and priced out my stuff (about 30 pieces) in less than an hour. I was very pleased with the pay-out amount $ and they took about half of what I brought in which was fair and expected. Store looked very organized and clean and made me want to start shopping although I resisted! I definitely recommend to buyers and sellers.

My first time shopping and selling at Clothes Mentor and it was a positive experience. The store is neat and organized by size and type of clothing. I sold a few pieces of my clothing and was paid on the spot (cash or credit, my choice). I also bought four items of clothing and two of them were brand new with tags on them. The sales personnel were pleasant and eager to assist you. I would definitely recommend giving Clothes Mentor a look.

I stopped into clothing mentor today to sell some clothes. I had never been in but had just cleaned out my closet. A woman was in front of me with a bag full of clothes, and the woman behind the counter who was ringing was pretty abrupt with the woman and told her they could only take 35 items and what was on the board. The woman selling nicely said that she wished she had know that last week because someone else told her the week before that she could bring anything. The woman had a bag full of very nice clothes many with the tags still attached. We both waited a bit and then a really nice young girl came up and began helping the woman, who again explained the situation. The girl was wonderful and very helpful . During there conversation the cashier who I believe was some kind of manager appeared to be very irritated, interrupted the conversation and again was very rude to the women selling. I was incredibly uncomfortable with the situation, and the other three customers near the cash wrap and the young girl working all seemed equally uncomfortable. I ended up leaving and donating the clothes I had as a result of it and another customer left the same time I did, and told me in the parking lot that she was shocked at how the associate addressed the woman in the store. I know that I will never personally shop or sell to clothing mentor after seeing that in the store. I have been a retail manager for over 20 years and that experience made me embarrassed for the young girl working, the woman selling, the customers shopping and the store. I hope they are able to attract more customer service friendly employees in the future.

They have a lot to choose from & Ive found a few really cute items, but theyre overpriced for used items! If you have the time, check out your Good Wills, thrift shops, FB market place & yard sales, Youll get More Bang For Your $$$.

I went in with my Mother this past week and had a wonderful experience with Ashley, she reviewed clothes we brought by and had such a magnificently positive demeanor. The store was clean and we were happy that made the stop on their first Monday back open. Thank you again for such friendly service! (Ashley deserves a raise and high praise!)

I stopped into this store for the first time two weeks ago and so glad I did. They have a wide range of clothes for all occasions; work clothes, dresses, workout and casual. I wasnt planning on buying anything when I just stopped in, but left with five items! They had a great selection in the store at 50% off ! Employees and staff friendly and very helpful. Selling clothes to Clothes Mentor was super easy. I was in and out in about 15 minutes. Ashley and Meena were very friendly. I would definitely recommend this store vs a consignment shop.

Stay away and support other businesses. I have sold and bought here in the past. Drove across town today with items listed on their “items we need board.” Some of which still had tags. Similar to other reviews from months ago, I was surprised to learn they are only accepting for store credit. I asked if this could be posted online, as I drove across town. The lady behind me in line stated the same. We were told it was up to management. Look at the dates of other reviews before you support this business over others. Clearly, they have been told this multiple times and it seems they hope people will find this out after arriving to the store and go ahead and exchange items for store credit (that may or may not get used... and what happens to the credit if they go out of business... something else you may want to consider before dropping items off.). I feel sorry for the employees who have clearly heard the online post request multiple times.

I sold a few items today inside the store. I received store credit and bought 2 tops and jewelry. It was easy. Stop in and check it out!

Today I called to see if the store was open and buying. The lady on the phone told me the store was so I gathered my things to sell and headed over there. I arrived at the store after driving across town and waiting while she went through my basket of items. About 30 minutes into waiting, a customer that had sold earlier came to collect her money. The saleswoman preceded to tell her that they aren’t giving cash but store credit for items. I was flabbergasted since she had two opportunities, the first being over the phone and second when I arrived, to tell me about the new policy. I was expecting cash as well! So I politely gave her a word of advice to tell her potential clients about this policy of store credit first! What a waste of my time! I will never come back to this store again since she had no courtesy for me.

Thank you for your above & beyond customer service Amy & Rae!! I purchased a pair of shoes on Saturday and tossed out receipt as i had no intent in returning them - but had a problem with them and went back to the store 3 days later. Amy & Rae could have easily said they couldnt do anything for me without a receipt (and I expected that!) But instead of turning me away...they worked together to track my purchase on their system - which was a bit challenging - but they worked to figure out a way and...they did it cheerfully!! Great customer service with smiles!!

This place is excellent for higher end used clothing. I originally planned to go there just to shop, but saw on the website they take in consignments for cash or store credit. I brought in a bunch of items, and they bought most of them. I took the store credit and used it to buy new (to me) clothing. I will most definitely be back.

Not sure why this place has bad reviews on here and yelp. They have some great finds, and the customer service is nice. Many items are quality and it is definitely a store geared towards older women. I have not sold any clothes to them, but it’s pretty clear when you shop there what type of brands they buy, and what type of quality they expect. Great little store!

Great service and clean store. I brought some items in and they bought them and I got some (new to me) items. Im always happy when a consignment store takes my items, even just a few, I dont need them anymore so whatever they take of mine is awesome! There is a donation box in the parking lot for what can not be sold again. Easy peasy

Might be a good place to shop but not to sell/consign!Left items for them to look over. Had 2 boxed pairs of new boots which I had asked for a price. The rest was many pairs of shoes in large shopping bags. They looked and returned quite a bit which was fine but rushed me to check out - did I want cash or store credit? I chose cash before I realized my boxed boots had not been returned. When I realized I went right back in but they said once I chose cash they owned the boots! Would not make any adjustment. Said I could come in and BUY them back later! Very poor customer policy.

I have always had a good experience at this store as a buyer. They have a nice Chico’s selection and tops sorted by color and size. The manager was nice and friendly. When I am in SRQ, I usually stop by there for a browse. Note: fab selection of purses and jewelry!

What a great experience I had on my first visit to Clothes Mentor, Sarasota Fl. where I have been wanting to go for a while as I follow you guys on Instagram. Thank you Bailey and Amy, I love my three pair of shoes and two pair of boots I found, cant wait to go back for some bags and clothing. Everything looked like brand new and Unbelievable prices. Your girls are very professional and friendly. I know I can order online and you ship to me but I definitely prefer the in-store experience much better.

Susan is the greatest in customer service satisfaction!!! I went to sell a purse but left 2 1/2 hours later with true wardrobe treasures! Susan was very patient as I tried on so many things ......She gave me her opinion in a friendly and “tactful” way not in the condescending tone I’ve received a few times at this location. Thank you Clothes Mentor for my “new treasures”. Also for the true treasure you have in your employee Susan!!!

Disappointed that I drove a long way to sell some shoes. I had to leave them there and come back two days later to find out they didn’t but any of them. All shoes were stylish and hard to find sizes with little wear. They had an absolute mess of bags behind the counter of donated items. Sell your items on Facebook Marketplace instead.

Asked for a return within 24 hours and would not do a store credit. Tags still on merchandise and receipt. Paid 20 + tax gave me $4.80 back and will resell for 20. Unethical. Wrongdoings for retail! Have spent hundreds of dollars there and was a great customer. No more!

Negative experience, the buyer did not take any of my clothes, not even my Ann Taylor pencil skirts -which never go out of style. The store seems to be only into what is in trend for older Sarasota customers. I prefer the one in NC much better, they always buy my Ann Taylor/LOFT clothing, on trend or not. Not recommended.

Great experience at the Sarasota location. They took many of my items back at a price that I wasnt expecting due to previous experience at such stores. I went to the Bradenton location with three Calvin Klein purses in very good condition and they did not accept a single one. This location is much better and the staff is better trained and very friendly.

Im going to start by saying that every single person that commented a review about trading in shoes or clothing is true, I just went in today to trade in shoes. They tried to only offer me $3.40 for 10 pairs of good quality shoes. They are very rude and selective, thats honestly not worth it. They make you sign a paper saying theyre allowed to have and use your number, but also saying if your stuff is lost, stolen, or damaged its not their fault. They told me they would be fine in 15 to 20 minutes, then call me.. They didnt. I had to come back 1 1/2 hours later to figure out theyre trying to rip me off basically. They said nothing has been lost, stolen, or damaged but guess what Im missing a pair of shoes and they told me its not their fault. But what could have magically happened within that 1 1/2 that they suddenly vanished and no one called me to even tell me they were finished? Dont go here. Just dont. The clothing is overpriced anyways and you are better off going to Goodwill. Dont support a place like this one.

The assistant there was really nice and explained how everything worked but once the store owner became involved in our conversation it was almost like she was trying to get rid of me, idk if it was because I was there without my girlfriend but she didn’t seem even slightly interested in me or my business.

Extremely difficult to locate store due to construction.For the large size of the store, there was not the expected amount of lots of inventory.Clerks were absolutely helpfulTold me ALL L/S TOPS were 50% off. I asked about a 3/4 length sleeve being counted as long sleeve discount. She said, Yes, of course.Once I got home, my receipt did NOT REFLECT MY 50% off; only 20%. Too late to drive all the way back & we leave for St. Petersburg, FL tomorrow. Get your discount sales all the same! Will not be returned to Clark Rd. Clothes Mentor next FL vacation. 🤨😠👎👎👎👎

I thought I would give clothes mentor a shot. Since I take most of my stuff to local consignments. Like Laura jeans, Woman’s exchange, Designer consignor, Fi Fi’s. Well I learned my lesson. They literally are a joke with there pricing. Even brand new in season designer boxed shoes were priced mere pennies. I will never shop/sell/advertise that establishment. Now a good comeback from them will probably be, you accepted the offer. Again shame on you.

First time in the store. I have some dresses to sell. Was treared like I was gum on the bottom of their shoes. I was lectured on how they handle items. I did tell them that I have never been in the store or sold anything with them. Not very welcoming at all. My items were too well loved or not in demand at this time that was after about 20 minutes. No problem. The treatment of the customer is the worse. Wanted me to sign their agreement that was half printed becuase od low ink. I asked for a better copy and was treated with a very disinterested staff member. I knew at that time no matter what I had it would not be accepted. Do not waste your time

One star as Google will not allow zero stars Interesting that they don’t allow reviews on your Facebook page. I am standing in the parking lot right now absolutely astonished that I was not able to return something outside of your 7 day window due to missing 2 weeks of work from an illness. A policy is a guideline for thinking; not a rule or a law. Your associate was rigid and inflexible. I simply wanted store credit for what would have been about $20 (remember...I likely would’ve spent more). I have been a loyal customer for years, first at the Roseville, MN store where I used to live and here for the past 3 years. Sadly, I won’t be back. In fact, I left the clothes on the counter - they are of absolutely no use to me due to fit, along with my punch cards and a credit from a small sell. I plan to alert the women that I’ve sent your way to your unwillingness to work with clients when circumstances are out of their control. Perhaps this is a training opportunity for your team.Very saddened by this.UPDATE: they have read my Facebook review and have blocked me. This is completely unacceptable as a business. Good business practices always include reaching out to an unhappy customer to gather more info and attempt to rectify the situation. I have sent many friends to this store and am now in the process of alerting them to shop elsewhere.
