The greatest experience! We were visiting Sarasota on our way back to Orlando to the airport, and our add engine oil light came on. This was our college sons car. We pulled over and the oil stick was dry! We called Tuffy, and explained our situation. He said pop right in now. He added oil.. but wouldnt let us pay!! We insisted. But he said Im the owner. I can do whatever I want we thanked him profusely! And told him we would pay it forward. Love this old fashioned way to do business.

Arrived in Sarasota on Thursday for 2 weeks of vacation and the very next day the tire pressure light came on indicating that the pressure was low. Put air in every other day for a few days and then discovered that the slow leak was due to a nail or screw in the tire. We called a local competitor mid afternoon today and said that we were hoping to get the tire repaired same day or next day. Fortunately for us, we were told that they were not able to look at it for at least a week so we called Tuffy instead. Glenn answered the call and to quote from Jerry McGuire had me at hello. He told us to come on over right away and that they would get it fixed for us on the spot. When we arrived, every bay was occupied by a vehicle that was being worked on. After bantering with Glenn for a few minutes and having some laughs, we left him with the keys and headed off for a coffee. The tire was fixed lickety split even though they were obviously very busy. Tuffy took the stress out of a stressful situation and honestly, getting the leaky tire fixed was some of the most fun weve had since arriving in Sarasota. Customer service makes all the difference and Glenn and the Tuffy crew were exceptional!! Highly recommend Tuffy...and Glenn, you really made our day!

These guys are awesome! Having anything done to my car is always nerve wracking, but Glenn made me feel right at home. I hit a curb and wrecked my rim and tire on a Friday, & Glenn was able to order a new one and get it on my car by Monday. I also got a synthetic oil change for $60, which is half of what I usually pay. I will definitely be back!

The shop manager took my car (1975 Datsun 280Z) in for an emergency repair (the engine was smoking) despite that the fact that he was slammed with other cars. The lead mechanic diagnosed my problem (a loose hose) & replaced the coolant for a very fair price. We need more auto repair shops like this one!

Im not sure how the service is because when I went into the office to ask about their wait time for an oil change the manger said, which BTW he looked annoyed and upset, I could just feel His vibe but he said itll be about an hr and a half or so and we may get to u or we may not. If hes telling me theres a wait time um thinking theyll get to my car but when he said we may or may not get to u threw me off so I just went to Speedy instead in and outta there in 30 min

Freaking amazing they did same job that dealership wanted 3X the money and I didnt have to schedule 3 weeks out! Tuffys got it done same day, just go early place is in high demand!

They were excellent here- my husband and I have a Buick, which most other places told us we would have to bring to the dealership to fix. (which is more expensive and we were trying to find a more cost effective route) my husband called Tuffy and they got us in next day and determined the issues with the car and fixed it same day. It is really hard to find a mechanic shop you can trust, and that is what these guys have over every place out there. They tell what what is wrong, what needs to be done now and what can wait. They are great guys, and the prices are good too.

The guys have been taking care of my cars for 15 years now. Excellent work and customer service every time. Randy and Glenn always go above and beyond.

We had some lug nuts come loose on our van and they got screwed up and wouldnt tighten back up. We are also from out of state and were headed home in two days and needed it fixed asap. Glenn got us right in and did an amazing job. Treated us well and fair and was a pleasure to deal with! Highly recommend!

Originally took my BMW X1 to the dealership for brake inspection and wheel alignment. I was quoted $1200 for front pads and rotars but only had the alignment done for $200+. I took it to Tuffys at 1pm for front brakes and rotars for less than $500. I left at 4pm and so far, so good. The invoice did not go over the initial quote at Tuffys. If the alignment machine was working at Tuffys, I would have had it done there instead of dealership.I will update the post in 30 days.

This will be the ONLY place I will ever take my truck! Randy the manager is the best! He was able keep my expensive ac and steering repair at a cost that was manageable. You know when you watch car races and they have pit stops to repair a car as fast as possible? Thats what happened here.Relatives vehicle was experiencing problems while they were traveling through. It was closing time but they threw it on the lift and diagnosed it. Ordered the part from neighboring parts store, where it was literally delivered by someone running across the parking lot.Start to finish it was probably less than 30 min. One could never expect service like this, and to say they went above and beyond is a gross understatement. Astounding may be more appropriateThank you! You saved them from hundreds in rental car, hotel, and most importantly hassles and interrupted travels.A+++++

Came late on Friday to get 2 ball joints pressed into spindles (both spindles were removed from vehicle). Picked up next morning! Guy at the counter said: Its done, you can take it. No charge. Went to Publix got two packs of Gatorade for them. Wow! Talked to couple guys outside the shop: one of them coming to this place for years! I used to press joints myself, but arthritis doesnt let me do it anymore, so they took their time and just did it for me! Talking about quality service at your local shop!

Very good and quick and most importantly HONEST and not constantly blurting out book shop hours and prices like most shop do like if it takes 10 min they wont charge $ 130 shop price and in a lot of cases they let it slide because its the right thing to do.

1st off the website isn’t working and won’t let me book appointments, and when I got there nobody was at the desk and all the mechanics were just hanging out and playing around when I waited 15 minutes for somebody to come to the desk, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anybody after multiple issues with this from the past until now. Last time I went my telescoping steering wheel was fine but when I got my car back it started grinding every time it moves and it won’t push outwards anymore. This place is just terrible I give it a negative 5 star

Took my car up to these guys two weeks ago for a quick oil change before I went out of town for a vacation to the keys. Asked them to check my AC because it had been acting up a little and wanted to make sure all was ok. AC was working but every once in a while would blow warm. They called me and said the compressor was shot and needed to be replaced. Approx $600 all in. I told them to hold off as I would take to my normal Mechanic when I returned from vacation. When I got the car back from them it never blew cold air again, constantly blew hot air. I figured they did something to it on purpose. Well today that was confirmed. Took the car to my normal shop and they told me the compressor was unplugged!! Seriously guys? Crooks .... you are the reason people dont trust mechanics. I hope all your potential customers read this as I would have liked to used you because you are less than a mile from my house .... thats not gonna happen now. Pathetic you need to stoop this low to try and make money.....

Glen and Randy are men of their word, when they say they will take care of something....they DO IT. You should never take your car any where else but here. Very trustworthy. They back up all repairs and do a fast, quick and cheap repair.

Mr. Glenn Gray and the team at Tuffys went above and beyond with their professionalism and honesty. I had major repairs that were completed on a Toyota Sienna and was overtly pleased with the work completed and the price. I will use them for all future repairs and would highly recommend.

Went in for a quick tire patch at this business. While I waited 45 minutes to get started, a technician approaches and tells me he is ready. I ask him to please be careful with my wheel and dont scratch it. He told me not a problem. The technician not only lost my original valve stem caps but SCRATCHED my wheel. This business hires people who can be fast not people who care about other peoples property. I also bought my technician a red bull because he told me he was careful. What a lie I was told and I wanted that red bull too. My friends and family from here on out will never spend our hard earned money and bring our cars for service at this place of business ever again.(Update)** Randy the store manager is reaching out to me to make things right and I respect this.**

The place is clean and nice oh, the people are friendly enough. However over an hour and a half for a scheduled oil change and tire rotation is much longer that I am used to.

An acquaintance and I both drove 2 hours from seperate directions to swap our wheels at this shop. They told us to be there before 4 when they closed and they could get it done. Upon arrival at 3pm they told us we were SOL and that they sent all their techs home so they couldnt do it. We almost wasted an entire day due to this inconvenience! Luckily after making multiple phone calls to other shops we got it done.

On my way to Ft Myers on a Saturday the bolts on my kickstand on my GSXR 750 broke. No cycle shops so I Google auto repair. I called and spoke with Randy. Upon arrival I see a motorcycle inside that belongs to Jason an employee. For less than 20 bucks and less than 20 minutes these eyes got me back on the road. So you probably have a car not a cycle but what you need to know that these guys are excellent both in service and workmanship.

Had problems with my transmission not shifting. Called and they told me to come right in and they would look at it. I was thinking it was going to take big $$$$$$. Brought it in and they were very helpful. Something had happened to my gear shift. They found it and fixed it for very little. They could have taken me for lots of money I was willing to pay. But they took care of me and the vehicle runs great and the price and people were too.

We moved to Sarasota a couple of years ago, and were told to try Tuffys for our automotive needs. Glen and his team have always taken great care of us and our vehicles. We know that when we go here, we will get a fair price, and dont have to worry about anything they fix for us. I highly recommend Tuffys on Fruitville Road to anyone looking for a reliable, trustworthy mechanic!

These people are not the most trust worthy and honest people you think they are or appear to be. Charged me in the neighbor of $600.00 for parts that werent even needed or had anything to do with the cars problem.No concern about the cost to me what so ever when asked about it.To me their attitude was Oh well.....just beware if you use them.

Came in with an SRS airbag error light that wouldnt go away. Within an hour they were able to figure out what the issue was and got it fixed. Extremely Friendly and the service was excellent. They walked me through step by step on what the problem was and how they fixed it. I would recommend to anyone to go with any issues you might have down to Tuffys and they will get it fixed.

Guy at the front desk was nice and a speedy turn around.Waiting rooms a little boring, so not a place youd want to sit around.Also almost got taken down in the parting lot by one of the techs in a customers car.

Completely satisfied until I got into my vehicle. Just some context, I try to find the cheapest oil changes in my area from a quality repair shop so I can avoid the hassle of getting dirty, and getting on my back to do my own oil change. While I dont expect perfection, it is just an oil change and I would expect your mechanics to not leave grease and dirt everywhere they touch on my vehicle.My truck certainly did not go in clean, however, the door handle, outer door, inner door panel, inner door handle, steering wheel, door step, top of hood, hood latch, oil dip stick, and the oil cap were all dirtier than when it went in and I found myself with black hands just after touching my steering wheel. I keep these things clean so mechanics who perform regular maintenance on my vehicle, including myself, have an easier time. Further, the new oil filter they put in was already dripping with oil, and the bottom of my oil pan near the plug had oil on it. It had some soaked in oil before, but this was clearly dripped during installation. Take two seconds and use a rag, is the owner being stingy with rags? Do you not see the benefit of cleaning the oil off so the customer doesnt think you put the filter in loose, i.e. now theres a possibility they come in to waste your time? Im writing a lot here to explain a small issue, but this stuff really should be common sense when you want to beat competition.

Been coming here for years, always friendly, always reasonable. They let you know what needs attention right away and what can wait, especially good for me and my older, high mileage cars.

Best service experiece Ive ever had.When I moved to Sarasota I googled oil change coupons, which brought me to Tuffys. That experience had me in and out in less than 45 minutes and I had the chance to chat with the manager who was working the front desk that day. When I left he urged me to take his card and we were joking back and forth.Fast forward to 3 weeks ago. My service engine light had been on for 2 days and my ac was either at full blast or not working entirlely. I went to autozone to get a diagnostic. Immediately after I called Glen Gray the service manager at Tuffy to ask if this was something they could fix. He had my car on a lift as soon as I pulled up Tuffy.My car needed significant work. When Glen called me to explain exactly what was wrong and what they needed to do, differential, axel, ring and pin. I asked if he wouldnt mind calling my Dad and telling him. Im 30. I have a 2015 mustang and frankly I know nothing about cars. Glen called my dad. My father knew to ask about additional body warranties from the dealership. Glen spent the afternoon calling Ford in hopes of keeping my cost as low as possible.Having to rebuild the tail end of a rather new car is not something that regularly happens. Its 7 hours of labor minimum plus the parts. Glen called me and updated me every step of the way. It took a few days for my parts to come in. It was my luck that the bareings werent right and the time my car was in the shop doubled. Without me requesting it, Glen knocked off a couple hundred at checkout to make up for the additional cost of me not having a car for a few more days.My mechanic Jason did an excellent job.Tuffys treated me well. 10/10 would recommend.

I laughed and finally got my tires rotated and an oil change. They advised new brakes, which I knew I needed. Thank you for making me laugh and keeping my car safe. Just under an hour without an appointment!
