I’ve been going to Santa Rosa Seafood for years. It’s remained the absolute best place for quality, selection and value. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful. It’s not uncommon to have an unsolicited sample of an oyster variety while making a selection. Small, medium and *large (*if you’re the grilling sort) sizes are available. They carry sushi grade fish (in addition to a menagerie of other selections) at reasonable prices which makes this home chef very happy. Finally, they take safety very seriously. Everyone wears masks and there is a delineated line outside for safe distancing. Truly a gem.

Simply the Best and freshest Fish & Seafood. I have never eaten anything from them that didn’t taste as though it had been either “swimming” or “clinging to a rock” 5 minutes before its demise. They set the bar for me and I’m going to miss then when I land in Massachusetts .. which should tell you something .. because we (originally) from New England know outstanding fish and seafood when we taste it.

Please be advised, the owner threatened to punch a customer in the face and drag him of his property, well he claims to be the owner in the video I just watched (which is going viral) the man claiming to be the owner in said video appears to be obese with a general unkempt appearance, no coveralls or apron which I would expect a professional fishmonger to wear, I also noticed some issues with his elbows which appear to be scabby or dirty in the video either way I’m glad to inform locals to note this review, I consider myself fortunate to live 12 hours away on a jumbo jet I’m thinking of moving to Thailand after seeing this video to make it an even 20..... wow I just watched the video again and even his zipper was fully open on his shorts.

This is the best place to pick up fresh seafood in Santa Rosa. They have a wide variety to choose from and there is different stuff here all the time. The line can get a bit long here in the afternoons so make sure you show up early if there is something particular that you are looking for.

This is the real deal! A family business at its best. The young man revealed (as i suspect everyone was) he was family. The mussels, oysters, and tuna we bought were divine and so very fresh. Crab was already sold out... :-( he joked that as a kid, his dad would say that they couldnt count sheep when they couldnt sleep but had to count mussels! LOL

Ive been coming to SantaRosa seafood since they started, in the side door after work, had dinner with the crew one time, Mike would meet us for special orders, they are fantastic and i am a loyal customer, i recommend to everyone.

The best fresh seafood, by far, in Sonoma County. The wonderful and friendly staff, mostly family members, make this a shop we look forward to visiting every week. And of course the fish, shellfish, smoked fish, soups, and other seafood are always the highest quality - we have always been very happy with our weekly catch!

This place is awesome! To start off the servers are all super nice and friendly and always in a good mood. Clam chowder is the BEST ive ever had! Seriously and they have a store next door that sells it so you can take some home. Fish and chips are great too. Just had again like the clam chowder the BEST baja style fish tacos, the batter is so crispy is phenomenal. My son had the smoked salmon pasta... you can really taste the smoke! I love this place!

This is the only place I go to find sushi grade meets, they have exotic and local selections. Along with the very best selection of oysters in town. They have amazing service, and the best smoked salmon Ive ever tasted. Dont take my word for it, go in and ask for a sample. You will be delighted with the taste.They can get very busy here so have patience. Im usually in and out in a few short minutes unless there is a line. Life is short, try everything once & twice if you like it!

The fish is some of the best, ultra fresh...but expensive. I did not like there clam chowder which is a big test for me about quality of cooking; do Ive not given restaurant a fair chance yet. Clam chowder was too thick with potatoes and starch for my taste and not enough garlic/ onion etc.

Joe at the market is phenomenal and extremely generous! He is also very proud of this place. I can see why! The people, the food is excellent! Thank you for spoiling us, and serving us so kindly! We will come back tomorrow!

Best clam chowder ever!! There is smoasted (smoked/roasted salmon) in the chowder..smoky taste delicious. Then the fish and chips are awesome. RUN IN FOR BEST FISH IN THE NORTH BAY. Dont let the exterior slow you down. As you know the best restaurants in Santa Rosa are very unassuming from the street.

This is the only place to buy seafood. We travel from Cloverdale to the Windsor farmers market just to buy fish every Sunday or we go in the Santa Rosa store. It is a great family run business with the freshest seafood, wide variety, and their own smoked salmon. We are lucky to have them in northern CA!

Mike gave us the most outstanding seafood shopping experience Ive had in my life. We came in after close; they opened up for us. Mike gave us repeated samples of incredibly tasty bites(caviar, raw scallop, smoked fish, a custom sriracha), and the variety of seafood we bought for bouillabaisse led to one of the great dinners of my lifetime. I cannot highly enough recommend their establishment.

I was so impressed by the kindness and service in this place. It is very old school in that they know how to make a return customer by actually talking to you and making sure you get what you need for your fish dish-even when its busy! I plan to get my seafood there as much as i can afford to. Nice family of people with fresh great selection of seafood.

The only game in town that carries such an array of FRESH seafood. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly. If youre looking for sashimi grade fish, this is your place. Also, nice variety of shellfish. Clam chowder is off the hook! Im sad I no longer live in the area. Unfortunately, where I live, fresh seafood not only doesnt exist, most people are meat and potato eaters. I do make a trek back to the area for my fresh seafood fix periodically.

This store has the highest level of seafood available to the public. Ive ordered a lot online from the finest purveyors in places like Marthas Vineyard, Key West, San Diego, and Seattle, I like a great fish.. These guys rate with the top shops, they may not have the super rare items, but they do a fine job selection wise with unsurpassed quality,Their prices are no more expensive than the online stores with comparably beautiful seafood, and certainly better than whole foods or Olivers.

I debated for a month to write a review but decided it was necessary, I emailed this company on a Sunday 7/25/15 ( they are closed Sun and Mon) asking to place an order for 8 dozen oysters the following Friday, I offered to pay in advance. I followed up with a call early Tuesday morning, The person who answered the phone was almost impossible to understand, like he had been drinking..not sure he was, just my observation. He said he had received my request and then said, ( at least I assume he said) he would call me back because he was busy and hung up on me. He never called back. I had heard good things about the company but after this experience and hearing similar ones from friends, I dont recommend them for your seafood. BTW I purchased my oysters at G&G Market, they were fabulous and a lot cheaper!

November is 90+ days aways.. crab season starts! This is the place to get fresh fish! And CRAB!

Regarding the issue of asking for bones and being told theyre in the dumpster, the fact is that fish bones are commonly used to create fish stock for various recipes, that asking at the fish market for free fish bones is de rigueur and any competent fishmonger should be aware of this and welcome the opportunity to create a customer. Someone who is making their own fish stock probably appreciates good fish as much as you do and this is exactly the customer you want.When the customer wrote that she had actually asked for salmon and was told it was in the dumpster the owner shouldve caught onto the fact he had obviously misheard and taken full responsibility for his inappropriate response.Together with the owners grammatical errors in other post replies, I feel like I ought to avoid this place, at least until such time as these issues are addressed and remedied.

Always the freshest and best seafood. Much less expensive than either Olivers or Whole Foods.

Store is non-descript. The seafood looked fine, but two of the workers behind the counter got in a screaming match during my visit and it was so loud no one could hear me place my order. Workers werent asked to leave the store. Was such a disturbing situation that I will not be giving this store my business again.

This place is incredible. One of my favorite local haunts!! I no longer buy fish at Whole Foods or Olivers. THIS is the place. Reminds me of my childhood in San Franciscol: fresh seafood off the piers, local fish mongers, lots of friendly energy. This place has all that and more, soooo many different types of fish, almost all of it fresh off their own boats, mostly local, and yummy!!The smoked/roasted salmon, FANTASTIC! The jumbo scallops, the amazing variety of oysters (I grilled some just now... each one perfect,) the salmon, the sushi-grade hamachi, the clams, the mussels....DE-LICIOUS!!!The service...EXCELLENT! Always with energy, a smile, spirited laughter.... this family works hard! Thats right, familia... Mike, Trudy, and 4 grown children. My first time meeting MIke was when he was 13 in San Francisco where he was always at Fishermans Wharf, hes always been around fish. I was happy to find him at our Windsor Farmers Market years later.About 10 years ago, while at their store on Santa Rosa Ave, I wanted a swordfish steak. Mike took me to the back where all the butchering, cleaning, slicing & dicing is done. He picked up a 65 lb. swordfish, just in, and WHAM!, slammed it on the counter and asked me where I wanted the cut! That was AWESOME! Love him and his family.This is the place for fish lovers!! Great Fresh Seafood, very friendly service.On my first visit there,it was just after the closed for the day. The staff was nice enough to let me in so that I could get the fish I needed for dinner. I was also treated to a piece of fresh Ahi tuna by one of the owners, something that just does not happen anymore.I wish they were open 7 days a week but none the less, you will not find fresher or higher quality seafood in the north bayI purchased Sea Bass, Beautiful Escolar for Sashimi (white tuna), and Ahi all were greatEnJoy
