I purchased a futon from The Futon Shop. I received excellent service--from Victoria (on the phone) and Tyler (in person). I am more than pleased with my product. In my first week, I damaged the futon. Tyler drove 4 hours round trip to come to my dwelling and repair the damage I caused. Didnt charge me a dime. Excellent service and an equally excellent futon.

Jumped on the live chat after not being able to reach someone when I called and Tyler offered to call me right away. Answered my questions and talked me through a few options for my short term situation and thinking through what happens to the mattress when I’m done with it so I can responsibly repurpose. Are you sick of smelly new mattresses and interested in The Futon Shops non-toxic options? DONT DO IT.The mattress I bought from The Futon Shop doesnt smell like off-gassing plastics, which is great, but it does reek like a barn. Literally like sheep and animal feces. The website hilariously refers to this as a fresh smell, and states that it takes up to a week for it to dissipate. My experience is that after two months, its still so strong that I dont want to be in the room with it, much less sit or lie on it. Ive let it bake in the hot sun for hours, but no change. I finally purchased two mattress covers in the hopes of isolating the smell, but eventually the odor permeated those too. Heres how bad the smell is: the odor transferred to the mattress covers, and after washing them twice they still reek, *and now my dryer reeks too.* I mean, what the heck?!Please be more transparent about this on your website so that other people dont have to waste their time and money on products that wont work for them. I tried to post a review on their website to provide information on my experience so that other customers could use it to make an informed decision, but discovered that they wont let negative reviews post to their website (presumably thats why every review for every mattress on their website has an average 5 stars... I thought that meant the company and products are great, but now Im seriously questioning that assumption).With better information, I couldve picked a different mattress that wouldve worked for me, and been a really loyal customer. Instead, I feel really disrespected by this company, and just stuck. I cant even sell this mattress, given how much it stinks. Please learn from my mistake and give your hard-earned money to a different company.

We were looking for space saving alternatives to couches. We shopped everywhere and finally landed here. Chris is an amazingly helpful salesman and took the time to find us just what we were looking for. We custom ordered our color and material and mattresses, and Chris personally delivered them and completed setup. We are absolutely pleased after using them for 2 months. I was looking for natural and organic mattresses for my family, and I had shopped around at other stores, but they were so expensive. I came across the futon shop and Im so glad I did! Victoria was so amazing and helpful! I was able to order beautiful wool mattresses for my husband and I, and one for my son! We also purchased wool toppers for extra comfort and one for living room camp-outs! They are so comfortable and I have such great peace of mind knowing that my son is not breathing in any chemicals or toxic dust from his mattress! I would def recommend this store and their mattresses!

Great experience shopping at The Futon Shop for a crib mattress and mattress for us. The didnt have a floor model of the style we wanted but we did try out a queen mattress with basically the same components as the sweat pea crib mattress. We all liked it! Waiting for our crib mattress to arrive this week - so excited to have a chemical free mattress for our baby. Hoping to get one for ourselves too. We were at Sea Ranch over the week-end at our house there, and we realized that the futon was the original one we had bought 35 years ago. We quickly searched on the internet for a futon shop in Santa Rosa on our way home to Palo Alto. We found The Futon Shop in Santa Rosa, and were pleasantly surprised by the welcome and knowledge of Victoria who clearly knows her business. Within a very short time we had a decision about a futon and cover, and had arranged for delivery to Sea Ranch which is two hours away from Santa Rosa.
