Cool store! I went there to sell items and the staff was really nice - plus they pay 35% on the spot. However, they only bought one item, because they are primarily focused on designer labels now. Good thing to know before you take anything there.

I’ve only been twice and I’ll never go again! first experience, a security guard followed me around while I had my headphones in, and made me uncomfortable, all because I had a personal bag on me. second time, I went to exchange clothes and all they did was take one look and gave it all back to me without explanation and the person at the counter just walked away and tended to someone else before I could say anything else. workers there just don’t seem too friendly or customer experienced! not to mention everything is marked up three times the original retail price, which is a bit obnoxious for a thrift store. overall, service isn’t great, and I could’ve been dealt with in a different way.

Maybe its the mens clothes, but I couldnt find a single thing under $80, including t-shirts that I wouldnt pay more than $20-30 for. Thrifty? I dont think so. Giving it three stars because of the vibe and because there seem to be some good bargains on the womens side.

Definitely not a “thrift store.” Prices are a little neck breaking, but there are really cool designer finds, and everything is beautifully organized and merched-so the staff know what they are selling.Just have a tempered expectation before you go in, and a curious mind to find some cool pieces.

Wasteland has the best buyers of designer clothing in the Bay area they pick only the coolest most original items for sale. Takes a very particular discerning eye to do this kind of work and they seem to hire people consistently that have that discerning eye. The management is fantastic too. More importantly they know these products that theyre buying and that kind of knowledge is invaluable. Go anytime you will definitely find something you like.

One of my favorite secondhand clothing stores! All of the staff Ive encountered were welcoming and friendly. Ive sold here a few times and the staff are knowledgeable about various fashions and trends and price their inventory fairly/according to current market prices, not insanely inflated Depop prices. The designer inventory is significantly greater than their vintage and contemporary inventory, but the curation of the staff allow for many happy customers, as the inventory follows a wide range of styles. The staff are also very good at weeding out duds and fakes, so you can take it easy when youre shopping for high end goods. The store itself is well maintained as staff are regularly reorganizing the racks and picking up any possible fallen garments.

One of my favorite things to do in San Francisco is go thrift shopping on Haight and Wasteland is always one of my favorite stops. Ive found some really amazing pieces here including a pair of Levis 501s! The shop is well organized and clean. They have some really amazing vintage t shirts that I swoon over every time, as well as ranks of vintage high end designer wear. Really fun and good sized place to shop vintage and second hand in a super rad San Francisco neighborhood. 10/10 recommend as a must do while in the bay area.

A great store for vintage and fun clothing. They have a huge variety of clothing, shoes and purses. Everytime Im in the San Francisco area, I make sure to stop in and I never leave empty-handed. As a plus, its located in the Haight neighborhood in the downtown San Francisco area, so it is surrounded by other original stores, shops and boutiques. The store and the neighborhood is definitely worth a visit!

Theres no shortage of great designer finds at wasteland. The large selection of wears spanning many different styles and designers will have something for any discerning shopper. From a sellers perspective I think they get you the raw end of the deal for the most part and is not really any negotiation you could take him some shoes that are worth $500 and Ill give you 40 bucks for the its a little bit of a rip off. But honestly, what can you expect, this is SF after all. Anyway, they are definitely worth checking out. I highly recommend stopping by next time youre in the area and maybe youll find yourself that one special piece of vintage clothing youve been looking for.

Not much jewelry. To sell: have ID. You will receive 35% of the selling price.

I just purchased a Louis Vuitton belt from wasteland about 4 hours ago, thinking it was legitimate, after deciding to authenticate it, I realized that it was fake! I’m leaving a 1 star review because I expected that a store that deals high end fashion pieces should be able to spot a fake. After a close examination of the belt, it rang every bell for being a fake, it’s screws weren’t flat, it had Louis Vuitton ingraved in the back or the buckle (telltale sign of a fake) the buckle was off to the side, and the belt said made in France, when the specific model is supposed to be made in Spain. But at the time in the store i didn’t know what to look for, and being in a store that deals with high end fashion regularly I expected them to have at least taken a few moments to authenticate the belt before throwing on a price tag, and not a cheap one either.Anyway there’s that, it’s also a little bit pricey, which I guess is expected, and some of the employees are rather rude otherwise they do have some cool stuff, but make sure to authenticate whatever you plan on purchasing before doing so.

9/10 Would Recommend-Large selection, unique clothes, priceyOverall, Wasteland is my favorite thrift clothing store in San Francisco. I’ve found some of my favorite articles of clothing here - leather jackets for $40, All Saints jeans for under $40, countless t shirts and much more. That said, this isn’t the place to come for cheap clothes. You can expect to spend as much or more shopping here as you would at H&M or Urban Outfitters, BUT the clothing choices are much better in my opinion. You’ll have to sift, but often times there are more unique options and designer labels hiding among the racks. They have a wide range of clothes for guys and girls. They also carry a lot of marked down designer clothes. I picked up a Comme des garçons shirt a month ago for $70.The staff is usually friendly and helpful, and while I always leave in awe of how much money I spent, the clothes I buy always get a lot of good use. I send all of my friends here!
