Gold refinery made a good first impression for me. The location is conveniently near highway 8 and was easy to find. The lobby area was clean and the customer service was five stars. First off this was my first visit. I’ve been prospecting for gold for a few years but typically only going out 1-2 times a year. I’ve gotten a bit more serious about the hobby, and decided to sell some of my gold. I believe I brought in about 1.5 ounces to sell. The gold was analyzed using a type of X-ray machine that distinguishes the types of metals in the gold. The measurements were made several times showing a purity of 84%. I chose to be paid in cash though you can also choose check. I was very satisfied with the experience and the payout was good. I’ll definitely be back the next time I decide to sell some gold.

I spoke with Carmine on the phone unsure of if I had gold or not. I had melted old electronics into what looked to be a gold bar, but apparently it was mostly copper and zinc. After more research I found out the parts I collected to melt are more electroplated gold over copper than solid. I probably burned off any gold during smelting. So Im going to look for just solid parts from now on and hopefully soon I can come back with gold. I would recommend them even though I didnt hear what I wanted. I am a after all just an amateur with a basic smelter, live and learn.

Simply the best place in SD county for buying your precious metals.,stop going to pawn shops that’s only giving you maybe 30-35% of the value whereas SD gold refinery gives you close to double of that. Times are tough stop allowing yourself to get robbed by pawn shops and jewelers such as Leo Hamel and others such as. Go see for yourself. Do yourself a favor.
