Brought in a pendant to have a rope necklace fit to it, as it did not have a perfect hole i knew it was going to need some custom work. Teri was very patient and looked through the entire inventory to find the exact necklace I was looking for, deep in the vintage section. Not only did it come out perfect after their custom work and modifications, but I was greeted with excellent service the entire way through. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for jewelry or custom work and will be visiting frequently in the future.

I went in for a specific ring style and Bianca assisted me and was so helpful. She took the time to get a feel for my style and showed me rings that seemed like they were made just for me! I found so many things that I liked that it was hard to choose. She was so nice and told me that she could order a specific ring that I asked about. She took my finger size also, so that I could know for next time. I got a ring that I absolutely love and wear everyday. I went to Leo Hamel to get my wedding ring set remade. I also had several diamonds reset and a pair of earrings redone. Taylor helped me realize the vision for all the pieces and was able to suggest the perfect settings while staying true to my own personal style. She spent a lot of time with me, and I can truly say she understands her customers, and knows her jewelry and available options. This store and everything about it is AMAZING. I purchased an engagement ring from here and could not be happier. I originally planned on purchasing an engagement ring through a vendor that is mostly online, but I am so glad I didnt because Leo Hamel has so much more to offer. Maggie and Logan helped me pick out the perfect ring at a great cost. Logan was able to answer every single questions I had (Im an engineer so there was a lot) and answer questions that I didnt even know I had. She showed me an entire case full of settings that matched the exact style I was looking for and spent so much time showing and explaining the difference between diamonds. That is something you must see in person (not online)! I eventually landed upon a vintage setting with a 2.1qt lab grown diamond. I was able to finance half of the cost (although I could have done more) with 0% APR for a year. Logan and Maggie then provided me steps on how to properly insure the ring and my complete ring was ready a week after my purchase. When I picked up the completed ring, I was provided with multiple cases that would ease the proposal and next steps after the proposal (wedding bands, cleaning/caring, etc...). I cannot express how happy I am with my experience here. If you are looking for an engagement ring, this is the place.

Simply the best! I celebrated a milestone birthday last month reaching my 60th birthday. That was extra special since on my 30th I purchased my first Rolex from Leo Hamel Fine Jewelers. I have been a customer for 30 years and have treated myself and others to some very nice watches and jewelry of the highest quality and value available at the time. I have been able to share with my wife, goddaughters and others so many nice things for which I’m grateful. Through the years Leo Hamel has been my one and only go to jeweler who has shared in so many of my life’s celebrations. Lisa was referred to my husband by a family member. She helped him and my daughter pick out a ring for me. They said they loved her. She was helpful and treated them like family. I then went and met her and she helped with picking out my wedding band. Lisa was warm and welcoming and was not pushy like a lot of Jewelers we went to. Leo Hamel will be our jeweler from now on.

Short story:I was told theyd inspect my watch prior to doing a repair so I didnt waste my money. 15 minutes after picking it up it stopped ticking, apparently there had been a miscommunication about what an inspection consisted of, however the repair department was accommodating and helped remediate the situation!Overall the entire staff was extremely courteous and professional and I would work with them again in the future.The long story:I brought in my timepiece on which the crystal had fallen out to have the crystal reinstalled. They quoted me an amount which was on the upper end of what I was willing to spend to repair it, but I like the watch so I did. I was informed that there was concern about it keeping time properly, but they would test it and let me know before proceeding with the reinstallation. Additionally they were not able to work on the movement for what I assume are legal, liability reasons.A few days later they called and told me it was about a minute slow, but otherwise working, which was fine by me so I had them reinstall it. The next week I picked it up and it was working. No more than 15 minutes later it no longer ticked whatsoever, regardless of position or winding.Naturally I was upset having spent what was a substantial amount of money to me that I would not have spent if I had known the watch would stop ticking completely after 15 minutes. However, after explaining my situation, they were very accommodating and helped me to resolve the situation.

25-Year Customer. After learning a little about how to tell a good diamond from a not so good one I went shopping around to some of San Diego’s most recognized jewelers as well as some not so recognized. I was sad to learn that many jewelers tried to sell me low quality products if they thought I didn’t know much about jewelry. Only after I displayed some knowledge, which I was at least a little then they showed me higher quality products, at a higher price of course. The whole experience left me suspicious and worried about getting ripped off on something they knew more about than I did. I felt like a sitting duck because I actually needed this ring.Not Leo. There I was shown high quality diamonds with certification paperwork in my price range that was better than the quality I found anywhere else the first time. I have now done business with Leo Hamel going back 25-years to his first location in North Park, (now I go the Old Town Location), where I purchased very nice Diamond Engagement Ring. I went to Leo Hamel to sell my grandmas silver. I felt like I could trust them, and that I was getting a fair deal. I met with Blake.Not only did I feel comfortable doing business with them, but they were very friendly and hospitable. They provided good explanations and helpful advice about what to do with anything they wouldnt buy.Id do business with them again any day. Even if I didnt have anything to sell, Id still go back just to shoot the breeze and hear more from them.

My wife was hesitant about coming in here because she wanted a “private” jeweler for her new wedding ring (25 years). She and I were both pleasantly surprised about the quality rings and the service we received. We also found out that the ring my mom passed down to my wife is actually 140 years old (had it resized). It makes no sense not to go here first to give them a try. It has been a very good experience.
