We a looking for sweet peanut soup in a can for my tofu pudding (dou hua). Asked two different stickers, in English and Mandarin, neither one was successful. Gave up and went to New York Mart, down the road, which stocked 3 different kinds. So if you’re looking for sweet peanut soup, don’t bother.

I bought Wang ShouYi spice packets there. Turned out the spices are fake, basically recycled spices! I wasted my time cooking using these fake spices and thinking of how these fake spices were made made me lose my appetite. I called Great Wall Supermarket 3 times, nobody picked up the phone. I emailed them, the email was undeliverable.

Great place to shop for a wide variety of fresh vegetables of all descriptions!

I love shopping here. So many exotic (to me) things to look at. Only problem is that sometimes labels arent in English, and help is hard to find.

Ill never get BBQ pork, crispy pork or steamed pork buns from a Chinese restaurant again, and Ill have to find a similar place when I move from the area. The chopping station is amazing. Not only fun to watch, the food is freshly made, cut to order and better than any Chinese restaurant Ive ever been to. Period.

As Nixon said it certainly is a great wall. Narrow aisles and a fishy smell let you know this is a typical Chinese supermarket. Huge selection of teas and produce you cant find across the street.

This store is on the busy Rockville Pike and we were quite surprised by its roomy interiors considering its modest entrance and parking. The store has a bit of everything from fresh produce to canned goods to electric appliances. The service is indifferent but the prices reasonable. We had been searching for quite some time for fresh tofu and this, as far as I know, is the only store in our area to sell it. One has to a look long and hard as the fresh tofu bin is hidden way in the extreme corner of the store. But at 50 cents a piece the price is very reasonable

I go to Great Wall regularly for Chinese groceries and veggies. It has a much better selection of produce than the Hmart near me. The vegetables are very fresh and the prices are very good.The food court is very good and the price reasonable. There is a good selection of vegetarian dishes and the food is not overly greasy. Three dish combo and a soup is $6.56. The BBQ is better than most other grocery stores in the area. To top it off, the people working in the food court are very friendly.The negatives: Parking is not easy on weekends. I find Friday is a better day to go to the store. Parking is a lot easier. The shelves are well stocked compared to Mondays. The dry goods and sauces are expensive. This place is freezing cold in the winter. Sometimes it is colder inside than the outside (in the winter). The place is not the cleanest and check out is typical Chinese service.

Its so fun shopping here. They have super fresh fish, crab, clams, meat, vegetables, snacks, condiments, fresh noodles, sausages, even hot fresh food for sale. Sometimes bulglogi ready to cook. Very good to come and see what is in season and on sale for further savings!

This is an AMAZING Asian supermarket! If you are non-Asian and have never shopped here you are going to be blown away. Fresh seafood and meats. Isles and isles fresh produce. Prices are half of what you pay elsewhere. If you are addicted to supermarket chains like Giant and Safeway, do yourself a favor, try this place just once.

I have been a customer for many years. The groceries are always well kept and fresh. I took 2 stars off because over the years the cashiers attitude are getting worse. They don’t look at you, greet you, or say a word to you. Almost like customers are just an inconvenience to them. To the management, a simple “hello” and “thank you” from your cashiers would be a nice change. It would be even better if they can actually look at the customers and smile. I also went to their competitor, 99 Ranch, today. 99 Ranch’s cashiers did a better job in terms of greeting and helping customers. Too bad 99 Ranch doesn’t have a lot of groceries selections. Otherwise I would stop going to Great Wall.

Decent Asian grocery for your daily cooking essentials. However, the horrible smell originating from the seafood and beef section was overwhelming to the point that we had to leave the store. Coming from the Westcoast, this is the smallest GW we’ve seen.

Convenient location in the heart of Rockville MD. Great selection of produce, seafood, meat and clean store. Parking is not the best. One entrance and exit to 355. Thankfully they do practice social distancing and offer hand sanitizing at the entrance and at the exit.

It was my First time there.. My sister had told me about them many times so I was really excited to finally be able to go and the experience was Phenomenal there were so many options to choose from and many options that arent sold in my local supermarket, the ONLY issue I had was the Communication of the clerk Not able speaking English other than that great experience and Ill definitely be back.

When this store was originally a restaurant with rides known as Jeepers, it was where my siblings had a birthday party in 2005 and it included a roller coaster.

Lived in Maryland for one year and this became the most often place for me to get groceries. Prices sometimes are not the best, but they kind of have almost everything what I needed. Now I moved to Delaware and I need to drive 2 and half hours to come to this store, would be nice if they open one nearby.

Great place to go to find ingredients you wont find at the regular grocery store. Lots of fresh fish and more kinds of ramen than you can imagine.

I always love coming here. The last time I was here I purchased some chicken (I get this alot) 2 pieces of my chicken was on its way of spoiling. After I cooked it is when we could tell. Thats the only issue I had, but I still go here & always will.

Food CourtGW price for their roast pork is overpriced, and has terrible service, when Ali went to purchase some roast pork, I wanted a specific part, and the lady who was working their rolled her eyes and looked angry. They didn’t even give the part I asked for, when we tried to buy more she got extreme angry, she acted like we were buying it for free! I drove 30 minutes just to get glares at a lady angry at doing their job, the food is terrible. GW as a whole is a great place, but the food court is something you should avoid.

Always clean and had what I wanted for Chinese/ Asian grocery. Try the baked pork floss bun if you visit, it’s by the bakery/cooked food area!

They just have a whole load of vegetables and dry goods this is a great place to shop for Asian food.

Worse Asian market I ever been 1st time my sister took me there to shop for some Asian food because she wanted to make some got some product pack and fruit and vegetables got home to half of the stuff being expired since July 2020 and we are in December how come those aryff still on shelves!!!??!!!! The soy sauce expired and smell like trow up the avocado look good and fresh on the outside but all black inside one we open all 8 of them. I will never go there again

They have more selections of fresh fruits and vegetables but the prices are not cheap anymore. The cleanliness is poor. I wouldnt go in there if not because of the bulk dried shrimps they carry. No one else have bulk dried shrimps like here.

This place is huge with All kinds of groceries and trinkets and knick knacks

SELLS ROTTEN PRODUCE! DONT TRUST THE PLACE. We paid over $40 for mangosteen and over half of what they gave us are rotten. Manager wont accept their mistake. Didnt even apologise and kept claiming its a special fruit thats why it went bad quickly. even if its just laid out like the other ones.

I love this market as they have fresh produce and great collection of seafood. This the only place I was able to find silver pomfret fish in dc area.

Fascinating place. I went there with my neighbor to pick up a half pound of shrimp and spring onions for his cooking. Everything was fresh - a huge variety of fish and fresh vegetables. Great Chinese community vibe and bulletin board of services near the front.

The prices are up a lot. The butcher in the meat selection was very rude, gave me a meat with lot of fat and not allowed to change. I wont buy meat in there any more.

Fresh fruits and vegetables at a good price. I will say as a deaf person navigating this market is tough especially trying to purchase fresh fish. Once a guy behind the counter was condescending and mocked me for my voice. Besides that good market.

The store is usually very dirty and has a terrible smell. It did not change, I go here about once a year and its still there. Food quality is pretty bad but has good value. One thing, stuff here is usually a few months expired, so be careful.

Great place for Asian food and grocery specially for Chinese taste as the name suggests. Price is reasonable. Meat and Fish section looks messy and stinky . Customer care is just average.

American food alot of money

This is your typical Chinese grocery. Honestly we only shop here if we really need something quickly, H Mart and 99 Ranch in Fairfax VA is 100000x cleaner and has a lot more items than GW.Our biggest complaint with this place is the cleasiness for both the hot food section and their produce. You always see flies.The next complaint is the parking and entrance. Having to make a U-Turn to get to the entrance when they should have negotiated to open up at the traffic light.
