Usually a great place to find unique bedding plants, perennials and hanging baskets. But this afternoon there were no staff anywhere to assist us, just a woman cashier. So we left and bought our plants elsewhere. Normally I would give this business 5 stars.

I love this garden center. Always full of fun treasures to find. They are very friends and have amazing deals to get your garden popping! I bought my first ever zen garden here. They have a few different options to choose from. The Ying yang was my favorite!

Always with friendly service, this spot offers many different kinds of plants, from ornamental to herbal to native. Also offering a large array of bird and squirrel feeders, pond supplies and fish, soils and fertilizers, hydroponic options, indoor propagation lighting, seeds, pots, garden decor... and a cozy little room with local honeys, jams, jarred goods and syrups... you are likely to spend a good chunk of time exploring, especially in spring and summer when the outdoor plant section is stocked. All employees I have encountered have an excellent knowledge base and answer questions with confidence.

The ONLY place to buy bonsai locally. Incredible selection, their trees are taken care of and their staff are incredible and so helpful all around. Great prices on everything and I highly suggest you take a look!!!

I love this place for all of my Wild bird and animal supply needs! Other garden centers in the area don’t offer as great of a selection and I know I’ll always be able to find what I need here. They also have cute decor items for indoors and outdoors and always unique house plants and things. Highly recommend!

Great prices, good selection of succlents! I got these lithrops there. Couldnt find them anywhere else in Rockford. They also have classes that start after the first of the year like how to bonsai and introduction to hydroponics along with how to make a fairy garden my friend told me about them and now I wont go anywhere else.

I like this garden center as it has been a Rockford staple for decades. Today I purchased a bungee squirrel feeder that should be fun for the cat and me to watch the squirrels try to eat the corn on the cob. Cheap entertainment for all...got me a nice red and gold poinsettia too which is unique. Thats the thing, the prices might be high but you can find some unique fun things here. Beautiful wreaths and pots too.

I have been shopping at RVGC for 5 years, and as long as theyre around Ill be there. They have great staff, great owners, and a selection that is second to none. I was on here just to check what time they close today, decided Id write this before we left to head their way! Shop local, and support this place so it can be around for your kids kids!

Really big, tons of selection. More of a cross between a hardware store and garden center, there was so much to choose from. Wear your walking shoes!

They are a really cool store. They have a large variety and not only that they but stuff cant get or usually find at box office stores. For example they have an orchid section. I have seen Cattlyas, onsidiums and one point a ladys slipper. They have air plants, cacti, carnivorous plants, and so much more. If you like birds they have everything you could need. Bird seed, insects, and feeders oh my.. one last thing I forgot to mention they have hydroponics and classes for things like bonsai.

Our first time there, and I was amazed at the selection. Almost everything you could want for your garden, patio, or pond. Im kinda afraid to tell my wife about this place! 😨😂

Great locally owned garden center! Friendly staff who are very helpful. The center has a wide assortment of outdoor needs- plants, bird seed, feeders, yard ornamental decorations, and more that I probably have not seen yet. Found a large 40 pound bag of sunflower seeds very well priced- and lower than other retailers! Will continue to go to Rock Valley Garden for our yard and birding needs.

Probably my favorite nursery in Rockford. Staff are helpful and knowledgeable without being pushy. Good native plant selections, which I enjoy for stocking my native plant collections. Neat gifts and birdhouses/feeders as well as birdseed, grass seed, and vegetable seeds. In Spring, they have excellent $1.19 peat pots of individual veggies of lots if varieties of plants and herbs, including heirloom varieties. Great for starting your garden when you want 1or 2 plants, not 6.

Very good selection at end of planting season, got a couple of shrub types during their half off sale!! Good staff to ask questions, helpful. First time there (not from local area), glad I stopped in. Yes prices are higher than box stores because they are dedicated to nursery and having items the box stores dont have. Check out their large selection when you are in the area!

I ordered a custom designed wreath for my parents Graves. I live out of state so finding someone you can trust to do great work isnt easy. In fact it can be challenging. I spoke with Cathy via phone. She was a real delight to work with. The designer...( David ) went above and beyond to create a masterpiece. Every detail was stunning. This is the place Ill use again and again. I truly recommend their services. If youre looking for quality and friendly folks....this is the place. Thanks again. I couldnt be more pleased.

Healthy looking bonsai

They have a good variety of plants. Theyre one of my favorite garden centers.

It was nice but there was a large class going on and you couldnt easily get down the aisles to shop. I will try this place again in the summer.

Attended a class today about caring for houseplants. Learned lots of good info which was included in the handouts. They provided potting soil and pots for repotting in addition to expertise.

This place is great the have the most knowledge in any questions you may have. They have the cheapest plants to grow your vegetable garden I have never been unsatisfied with them. Keep you the great work you do guys and gals.

Really like this garden center. Not fancy, not pretentious, just a good nursery garden supplier. I got my beautiful baskets of flowers at 50% off and other items I needed. Always have helpful workers, even when they are busy. Ive been visiting here for years.

Huge selection of plants at good prices. Staff is very knowledgeable and helped me each time Ive been there. Plus this time of year much of the shrubs and perennials are half off which makes it an even better bargain!

This is a great shop. They have a lot to choose from, plants and supplies. The prices are reasonable and the staff is out going and helpful. I will definitely be returning.

Red warning signs on the door. Rude staff pushing back about their lawyer instructing them to refuse service unless you wear a mask. Offering to put it in my car might be okay, but I wanted to pick out a tree from a cluster of them. This place has a great product mix as I previously posted, but it is not acceptable to be rude and push back because you are afraid of spreading disease. If you are that afraid, go home and close your doors. My money is more contaminated than I am, and today you helped me decide to stop giving you that as well. Very unfortunate. Ill still buy the things I want, it just wont be from your business any longer.

Great staff and deals

Wonderful local greenhouse and garden center. Plants are of excellent quality and plenty of garden and yard decor. They also have a good selection of products for organic gardening. We buy the Serenade disease control which REALLY works well for most tomato diseases, especially fungal. It has helped tomatoes come back that looked so far gone, I thought Id have to pull them out. Its a probiotic-based product, so you can use it right up till the time of harvest. It worked on cucumber plants that appeared to have a fungal or bacterial wilt from cucumber bugs. Its approved for organic gardening, it works better than chemicals, and the big box stores dont carry it!

Received personal help through out my visit. My favorite nursery; always have fine fresh plants raised from seed and cared for until they are out the door.

We love this place! Its such a neat store and the employees are always friendly and helpful. Their prices are fair. Weve bought a lot of vegetable seedlings and flowers from Rock Valley and theyve always turned out great.

Rock Valley Garden Center is a great place to go for lawn & garden shrubs - flowers - etc. - great place to shop for bird food - peanuts - tree nuts - bird feeders - bird houses - food for squirrels - & much more!!!! Ive spent a lot of money here this summer. I called about exchange policy because 2 baskets havent bloomed after I got them home. They have no returns at all for any reason! All I wanted were 2 blooming baskets! I will NEVER be spending my money here again and would highly NOT recomend this place!
