My 2014 BMW 328i engine light came on about six weeks ago and I called Bimmer Rescue to run diagnostics on my vehicle. Two and half days and $1700 later Bimmer Rescue replaced the oxygen sensors. Later that week I was moving from Richmond, VA to Spring Lake, NC and the engine light came on again. I brought my vehicle to the Fayetteville, NC BMW dealership and they said the oxygen sensors were replaced - however they were installed backwards. The service rep stated he had never seen that before because they are color coded. The labor charges at the BMW dealership were the same as Bimmer Rescue but the service was performed correctly in much less time. Bimmer Rescue technicians need training and management needs to perform quality control. Just take your BMW to a dealership to avoid the hassle.

My BMW story does not have a happy ending, but the folks at Bimmer Rescue were great. After it had been sitting at another repair shop for months, I had the 525 station wagon towed to Bimmer Rescue. They quickly diagnosed the problem, but the repairs would have cost more than the car is worth. Rick was very good at explaining my options, Paula in the front office was great, and everyone was very patient as I figured out next steps. Your car will be in good hands with these fine people, and hopefully youll have a much happier ending!

On July 23rd, 2020, I had my car towed to this shop because it stalled on W. Broad St near 288 interchange. Since then, my vehicle had been back to this shop for the same issue of low fuel pressure for at least 3-4 times including multiple times of stalling while driving. The vehicle was towed back every time. After spending almost $7,000 of parts including majority of the fuel system, the same issue still happened. At the end, I realized that this shop did not want to work on my car anymore because they simply told me that I need a new engine and will not handle this same issue anymore.I finally took it to a BMW repair shop in Fredericksburg to handle this issue. At the end, problem solved after careful and diligent diagnosis, it was the Low-Pressure Fuel Pump relay soldered on the broad inside the Junction Box was burnt and loosen and failed to send current properly from Junction Box to the Low-Pressure fuel pump. This issue generated error codes of low fuel pressure, triggered Yellow CEL on and stalled the engine. Bimmer Rescue replaced low-pressure fuel pump and had Crown Mini replaced the high-pressure fuel pump under factory recall. My question is whether Bimmer Rescue had properly diagnosed my car and did the correct procedure. The proper procedure will be checking current level and respective fuel pressure prior to making a decision that the low-pressure fuel pump was bad. Obviously, mechanic at Bimmer Rescue did not do a good job checking it because if he did, he would have realized there was problem with both current level and fuel pressure.Bimmer Rescue also replaced the fuel filter, sensor and lines in the fuel tank. During that work, the original fuel line from the tank was shattered. In addition, mechanic also damaged the fuel gauge part of the tank by performing his work with the gas tank. My car ran out of gas on highway when the fuel gauge showed 1/4 tank was left in the tank. When I had the vehicle towed to the shop, the mechanic realized the fuel tank was completely empty. When I called Crown Mini regarding the Junction Box issue with R56 Mini Cooper, they knew of it. They have sold over 20 JBEs in 2020 and 4 alone in 2021.I only spent $778 to fix the issue at the other shop in Fredericksburg and I spent 10 times that amount at Bimmer Rescue who I trusted. All the extra money spent was really unnecessary and at the end, I was told to get a new or rebuilt engine just because your shop cannot fix the issue. Paying attention to detail and doing the proper diagnosis would have avoided me from having these terrible experiences. I was going to leave it in the owners hands to address my dissatisfaction and make things right. I have been in his shoes as a dealership manager, and I understand what it takes to turn a customer around without negative publicity. I was wrong. He completely pushed all the responsibilities off his shoulder and they never showed me any faulty parts as they claimed! I will never go back there for my vehicle service! Here is owners reply:Intermittently failing electronic parts at the circuit board level can be some of the most frustrating to diagnose for any shop. Disassembling these modules is not something we generally recommend for safety reasons, but I am glad that that it helped. We have also replaced many JBEs for symptoms different than what you experienced, they control many electronics in the car. Perhaps if you present your case BMW of North America will refund you what you paid for that repair to the JBE.I am saddened that you think none of the work we did was necessary, because we did find faulty parts in your car along the way, many that aligned with your symptoms and were clearly faulty, failing, or leaking but again, I can empathize with you on this, it was not a fun situation.I hope this helps you, you have been nothing but patient with that car and with us along the way, you are a good man who has wound up with a particularly finnicky Mini and I wish that wasnt the case.

I was having trouble tracking down a rough idle on my 325i. Im a DIY mechanic and I ususally work on my own cars at home. After replacing several parts, I decided to take it to these guys to help me figure out the problem. BIG MISTAKE!!! Right from the beginning they try to sell me a bunch of stuff unrelated to the problem I brought the vehicle in for. After reminding them I was only interested in diagnosing the rough idle, they then suggested several diagnostic procedures that I had already tried myself. After a week of not hearing anything from the service writer and ignoring my texts, I had to call the front office to find my car. I eventually got to speak with the manager who then told me they could not figure ANYTHING out with my car! Frustrated at this point, I go to pick up my car only to be greeted with a $400+ bill for unnecessary testing and health inspections. After forcing me to pay the bill to get my car keys back, the manager even wanted me to come back and tell him what I did to fix my vehicle since they couldnt figure it out. To add insult to injury, they parked my car in the apartment building parking lot next door and the hood of the car got covered in tree sap and leaves. This is obviously a very unprofessional shop with incompetent mechanics. I took my Bimmer here to get rescued, but all I ended up with was a giant bill and a car that was still running rough. Total waste of time and money.

I was involved in an accident that did something to the transfer case on my car. The insureds insurance company sent the car to Mercedes of Richmond to diagnose the problem. They found the problem, but refused to say whether or not it was caused by the accident (youre asking yourself, whats the point of sending it to Mercedes in the first place, right?). Trust me when I say dont waste time at the Mercedes dealership. There are so many other repair shops out there who do better work with a higher level of professionalism and Bimmer Rescue is one of them. I paid out of pocket to take my car to Bimmer to prove once and for all that the failure of the transfer case was brought on by the accident. They were able to diagnose the cause and the effect and show the claims adjuster what had happened inside the transfer case. Could Mercedes have done the same thing, sure they could have, but they werent interested in doing that...thats what makes Bimmer Rescue different. They were able to get me the resolution I needed to make me whole again and they did it at the expense of losing the work for themselves, since it unfortunately led to the car being declared a total loss. I met Patrick through his volunteer work with the Boy Scouts for the Automotive Maintenance merit badge and I dealt with Rick for the work I needed. I can highly recommend them and can tell you that regardless of what happens or the way things turn out, they just want their customers to be happy and whole.

Its helpful to have insight into whats critical and what isnt; its also useful to see what work might be due in the next 12 months so there are fewer surprises. Everything is available for review online and it helps make the process really streamlined. There is no high pressure phone call to have you commit to different jobs. The team is always great about getting me a ride share while the work is being done and Ive never had a problem with the car not being ready when it was promised. The guys were awesome. I had my 1998 BMW 528I towed during the overnight in relation to a breakdown on route 95. My son had researched for repair shops in the area and this came back as one of the best. I was there at 8 am in the morning and met with Jared as he was opening up. I explained my situation to him. I had left Fort Bragg the day before driving 750 miles to R.I. I explained the symptoms to him. He texted me about 20 minutes later with the problem. Got authorization to do the work needed to get me back on the road. Job was completed and I was back on the road at 1:30 pm. Drove the 500 remaining miles home with no issues. Great place, great work and great people. Offered me coffee and/or water and then gave me some water to take with me. I would highly recommend Bimmer Rescue. Great work and great people. Thank you.

Misdiagnosed but still charged over $900!!I am very disappointed with the recent experience I had with Bimmer Rescue. I was receiving service for my headlight, they replaced the head light and the issue was not resolved. I was told that they misdiagnosed the problem. At that point they said I needed to replace the whole headlight unit which would cost about $3,000. I did not want to allow them to continue service on my car after the misdiagnosis and they were not willing to refund the money that I had paid. They told me they could refund the PART but not the LABOR. The part was about $400. That would mean I would have spent roughly $500 and nothing was resolved. Before service, I asked questions about the service quality since the prices were more than the BMW dealership. I was assured that most of the mechanics were from BMW and that I would get better service here vrs. the BMW dealership. They told me that they were more professional and most of their mechanics had at least 15 years experience. I went with Bimmer Rescue because I was looking for good quality work. First and for most, this establishment has excellent customer service. Very welcoming place, were able to get me in a day after I called. 160$ diagnosis fee which is fairly priced. Providing an Uber drop/pick up. Even a 24 hour car rental. Everyone i talked with was very nice. I called Bimmer with concerns to one of my rear bumper sensors being knocked out from a minor hit and run. My MMI navigation screen also went black. Ironically the screen went black the same day the sensor got hit, so I assumed they were tied into each other somehow. After the diagnosis, I was informed they actually had nothing to do with each other. I should just need a new sensor for the bumper and my car needed sometype of update that would of allowed the screen to re-program. I asked a few questions but never mentioned if the diagnosis happened to be wrong what would be the follow up of a mis charge. Collectively to fix both problems wasnt even 1,000. Around 450 per issue. I gave them the go and the next day I was told the sensor was in and working like it should (which it was and still is). Unfortunately, after thier attempt to fix the MMI screen, something had came back around and my car actually needed a new radio. Its NOT the price they gave me it would cost to be fixed to why Im upset or writing this review. Although it was 3x as much as the 450$ i was originally told haha. You would think I would get offered the slightest discount since i spent money for something that didnt get fixed. Remember, should. Maybe the shop sees BMW and Coops a lot more so the problem was a bit unfamiliar. Its definitely my fault for not digging into the what ifs or follow up. Youd like to see more ownership when mistakes are made. Especially in this type of field. These places are hit or miss with actually fixing what you need to be fixed for the price they tell you. When another issue, that was masked by the original issue, arose shortly after the initial work, Patrick was very accommodating to get that taken care of quickly and was fair on the price. The great thing is when Ive had basic maintenance/wear and tear work done, the approach and feeling was the same. How much the repair costs doesnt impact the level of personal service. While there are other places to work on your BMW, I doubt they can provide the level of service and personal touches that Bimmer Rescue does.

Great, Great, Great experience! Absolutely appreciated the professionalism and care displayed from the beginning of the service. Their knowledge and understanding of my vehicle was far better than the individuals I dealt with at the BMW dealership. The full assessment of my vehicle that they provided sets them apart from all others. Everyone showed that they cared about getting me back in the car and making sure it would perform as BMWs should! Mike is awesome and I will be using them again for my 535i and will start bringing my wifes X5. You guys have a great thing going on and have set yourselves far above others in the Richmond market!!!

I started going here years ago, and its one of the few places I trust to work on my car(s). I prefer them to the dealer and it is actually a faster / better customer service experience. Recognize that the price you pay here also covers - warranty, loaner vehicle (if coordinated ahead), and the additional service reports. Know that you can always refuse a service that you find to be overpriced before committing to it... but I prefer to come here over all the other places available.

Bimmer Rescue is hands down one of the premier shops in RVA to take your BMW, Mini, or Audi to. The team (lead by Patrick and Rick) are top notch in professionalism, thoroughness, and kindness. Its a refreshing approach to vehicle maintenance and repair, and I appreciated their transparency in every step of the process. From keeping in touch, to a courtesy vehicle, to coordinating repairs with my existing warranty provider, this shop goes above and beyond in every aspect of service possible. I liken the experience to the Chick Fil A Model for Cars, and they consistently deliver. This is the only shop Ill go to in RVA, and I appreciate both their mission and the opportunity to support a great shop!

Seriously, these guys are legends! The most professional service Ive ever experienced with a genuine desire to help you. Patrick is only looking out for YOUR best interest and the technicians are some of the most skillful in Richmond. Could not have been happier with the experience, quality of service and most importantly, how my M3 felt after leaving the shop. Great guys and the best in Richmond in my opinion. Give them a call, they take care of you.

First timer. Excellent marketing brought Bimmer Rescue to my attention. An excellent website drew me further into their clutches (pun intended). I figured Id give them a try and see if they were as good as they appeared to be online. They turned out to be even better. No, really. They text you the status of your car, with photos! They respond to text message questions. And they are all really nice guys. I made an appointment to take in my other car when I picked up my first one from them. Highly recommended.

Fantastic shop, great people, and extremely qualified techs. Honest shop that will tell you exactly what you need and what can wait. Would definitely recommend to everyone. Slightly more expensive than the dealership but you get a much greater quality of work from their certified techs. I have a new to me BMW and my first diesel. I had a low oil light come on prior to my first service. I called Bimmer Rescue and they had me come right over to top it off and scheduled an appointment to take a look. My appointment had to be rescheduled but they communicated ahead of time and got me back on the schedule. They were great when I went in! Looking forward to many great years with my new BMW and being taken care of by the great people at Bimmer Rescue.

Ive been taking my classic BMWs to Patrick since he was working out his personal garage. My latest visit was with a 76 2002 that I had just purchased a month prior. When I dropped the car off he asked what my plans were for the car and I laid out that Im looking for a dependable driver. He then gave me a ride home to the south side as we discussed it further. About a week later he invited me to the shop where he personally took me on an hour tour of my car while on the lift pointing out all things that should be taken care of now vs things to think about in the future. Afterwards we sat down and laid out a plan and budget. He was going to do a head rebuild on the motor. He sent pictures during the course of the work because he knew Id be interested plus if something came up unexpectedly hed always get in touch before assuming Id want to do it. I easily see why Bimmer Rescue has grown to what it is today. They pride themselves on a customer first experience when you walk in their doors and protect your BMW investment regardless of year, make or model. Some could argue you could find a better deal in town but I personally dont look for good deals when it comes to performance and safety of my automobile. Get it done once and right. And if something does come up they warranty their work for 36k/3 year and offer complementary towing. I hope this helps someone out there who needs a dependable and experienced mechanic for their new or classic BMW or Mini. Thanks Bimmer rescue!

Bimmer Rescue is the place to go if you want your vehicle handled by someone other than the dealer, but with better professionalism and honesty. My BMW is an older car with the typical older car problems. Patrick and his crew inspected it, told me what was wrong, and came up with a game plan on what to do now and what could wait. From the looks of things, they are just as knowledgeable on newer vehicles as well. Do yourself a favor and give them a try!

I am fairly new to Richmond and was looking for a quality BMW service provider on Google when I came across Bimmer Rescue. I am particular about who works on my vehicles and in this case my sons M3. There is a lot of trust in experience with high performance vehicles, having the knowledge to understand common issues and the knowledge to resolve them. I put my trust in Bimmer Rescue and they didnt disappoint. They are very thorough, they understand your vehicle and they dont give it back until it is right. Not to mention the excellent customer service...thank you Kyle, Patrick and Mike. Kyle kept me informed along the 4 week or so journey of restoring the M3 back to health. The mechanic did a great job diagnosing the vehicle and correcting the issues. There is a noticeable difference in the performance and driveability. Thank you Bimmer Rescue, I will recommend your services to anyone that needs them!

Patrick and Sara and Bimmer Rescue team are fantastically phenomenal in both their customer service skills and BMW knowledge. They are easy to do business with and without a doubt the best in their field. From a precise and thorough inspection to the patience in explanation from Sara we are confident we made a solid decision in selecting Bimmer Rescue for our service needs for our X5 and 530i.Albeit we gave much of our business directly to the BMW Cville dealership which is more convenient for our family. I can positively say we will for many years of BMW ownership to come we will not need to go back to the service center at the dealership. Rather we will turn to Bimmer Rescue for all our current and future BMW service needs! Way to Go Bimmer Rescue!

These guys are outstanding in their services, timeliness and courtesy. 2 years after a service I did for my car with them, I needed some paperwork, and I called them. I cant say enough great things about Mike and Patrick. I went to BMW on West Broad to get my rear brake pads and rotors replaced this morning. I had an appointment set for 8am and I was told I would be out of there in a couple of hours. I waited 1.5 hours just to be told that there was no issue with my brakes according to what their computer systems were saying. They didnt have the decency to drive my car and listen for the extremely loud and annoying sound my brakes were making. I finally convinced them to go for a ride and then the technician all of a sudden found something with my rear brakes. Not only did he find something with my rear brakes he gave me a list of 7 other items (they were too busy trying to figure out what other repairs they could get me for instead of actually listening to my current issue) and told me Id have to wait another 4-6 hours for the rear brakes to be replaced. I immediately left and took my car to Bimmer Rescue and Patrick and Mike had my car fixed in a couple of hours, paid for a rental car for me to have for those two hours, charged me less, and looked at the other items BMW was trying to get me to fix. Come to find out, BMW was trying to charge me for a few items where an issue didnt even exist. If you want an HONEST place to get your BMW fixed, go to Bimmer Rescue. If you want to work with people that respect your time and always over deliver, go to Bimmer Rescue. If you want to get ripped off and you want to waste your time, well then go to BMW on West Broad. Thanks Patrick and Mike, I really appreciate everything you all did for me.

I just used Bimmer Rescue for the first time after my car would not start. They fit me in quickly, walked me through the issue, and gave my car a general check covered as part of the diagnoses of the no start issue. If you are looking for a top-notch shop, then bring your car here. If you have owned a BMW for a while then you may be familiar with Mike, the shop manager, and their techs and know these are some of the top guys that use to work at the dealer. You may be paying a higher price than most independent shops per hour but in the end, I know I am paying less since the tech is not learning how to work/diagnose my car while working on it. If you wouldnt want a med student performing heart surgery on you compared to the countrys expert, then bring your car here.
