Todd and Dave are wonderful people. If you ever need that unusual part or piece, this is the place. Their gun library smokes anything in Reno and the 55 or so years of continuous presence means they know their stuff and they stand behind their word. First time Gun buyers would be wise to stop in and be treated with respect and have your questions answered. They have it all and it’s a family operated business, unlike the big boys.

Wow! This place is amazing. They have everything. I went in looking at metal detectors. They carry whites metal detectors and have a great selection. They also have a vast selection of fishing and hunting. I could have spent hours in here. I found what I was looking for and was very happy with the service and the professionalism of the staff. Dave and Marty the owners are awesome. This is a family run business and I highly recommend visiting here for all your outdoor needs.

I have never walked in this place without being pleasantly greeted and respectfully treated. And Ive never been told sorry were all sold out, come back next week... when purchasing ammo (9mm). They run their business the American way. I dont mind the 4 hour drive either. Ive literally made the trip 3 times this year alone, specifically for ammo and no other reason. I dont even bother checking their website or calling ahead of time just to make sure they got what I need. I wont shop anywhere else.

Mom and pop gun shop. SOME of the staff are just unprofessional and lazy NOT ALL OF THEM just some. If you don’t like dealing with customers don’t open a store. I don’t understand why they talk to people like this when we are the ones keeping them in business and putting cash in their pockets. Don’t get me wrong the staff is awesome it’s just one guy who gives everyone an attitude like he’s just tired of dealing with customers and people.

Had gunsmith work done here. The work that was supposed to performed was not. 1. Recoil pad was supposed to be a 1 and it was not. 2. Action was to be cleaned and lubed, action was cleaned but not lubed very well. 3. Picatinny rail was to be installed for mounting a scope, a weaver style was mounted instead. 4. Hole in receiver was supposedly shipped to a Master Gunsmith to be welded closed and was never done. Will not recommend this shop. All this and it only took six months.

My favorite gun store in Reno by far. I have bought two firearms here and lots of ammo. The staff is really knowledgeable and passionate about firearms, and eager to answer any questions that you have. They make the customer feel welcome and want to return. Their prices are also very reasonable for the same product compared to big box stores like Scheels or Sportsmans warehouse. This is my number 1 stop when looking to buy a firearm and I will return.

I had not fished in the Reno area, but wanted to take my 5 year old granddaughter fishing for the first time. The store staff recommended a good place to fish and fixed us up with the right gear, bait, rig, and fishing regulations. My 5 year old granddaughter landed 3 nice size trout. Prices were a little high but the great advice from the staff made her first fishing experience successful.

I went to this store as my friends stated that they had ammunition for sale. I needed some 9 mmr as I was out. I bought 2 boxes as I had zero ammo. Each box was 31.98 for a box of 147 grain fmj. Thats about a 150% increase. Price gough since the ammo shortage. These people are looking more democratic than possible. I urge all to not buy from these crooks. Taking advantage of people during the shortage. These people are blood suckers. Dan lestelle language is held back for these pos people

Pros: Extremely knowledgeable staff, large and varied stock, very friendly staff, no waiting around.Cons: Prices are quite high, staff likes to up-sell.I went to Mark Fore and Strike to purchase a handgun. Staff was extremely helpful and stayed late to let me process paperwork. The staff member who helped me was the most knowledgeable I had encountered in town. I do pretty extensive research before all purchases and it was evident that the staff member had done his too. I was looking for a specific item and was impressed with their inventory. The gun was almost 100 dollars over MSRP (550), given the rarity due to COVID, etc I decided to buy anyways. The staff member then proceeded to try to sell me ammo (9mm). 50 rounds for $18. Not a great deal in my mind, so I decided to go look for a better deal while my background check processed over the coming days. 3 days later I return to pick up the gun and decide to buy the ammo there. The price is now $30 for the same box. The staff member that sold me the ammo walked up to the counter and had to tell the cashier what they were charging me for the rounds. This experience after being told I needed a holster for any CCW class I take in town made me feel like they just try to take advantage of any fresh face that comes into their store. Conclusion: Price gouging keeps staff friendly and the store stocked. I’ll only head back if there is something that I need more than the extra dollars they’re going to charge me. That being said, if it’s something unique you’re after this might be your best bet in town.

My experience here started off great, but quickly took a turn. I went here to purchase a particular scope and figured they would have it since they are a Vortex dealer. I went in purchased the scope and was also looking for a set of good scope mounts, but had a particular kind in mind. The man behind the counter, whos name escapes me, was incredibly helpful and spent a lot of time skimming through every bin of rings they had to help me out. Turns out they didnt have them, but no big deal. I can always come back. So, I purchased the scope and left. Had my experience ended there, this would be a 5-star review. But, unfortunately, it didnt.About a week and a half goes by and a friend who is also a Vortex dealer now (but not in the area) found out I wanted one and decided to hook me up with an incredible deal so I can finish this build thats taken forever. So, I decided to return the scope from this store and buy through my friend. I had very lightly mounted the scope awhile, but didnt torque anything down yet. And obviously, hadnt shot it yet either. I packaged the scope back up, grab the receipt, and head in. I tell them my situation and the first guy I saw was the same guy from last time. He was fine with it and made it seem easy, then pointed me to the man who was in charge of doing the returns - Im guessing the owner. This is when things just got obnoxious.Doing a simple return and coming from a place of understanding wasnt in the cards I guess. He seems all disgruntled all the sudden and opens the box to inspect the scope and points to a spot saying its all scratched because I mounted it. I knew it was really just sitting there and not even torqued to finger tight, so a scratch didnt make sense to me. I wiped the mark right off with my finger. He packs it back up and then gives me this long spiel about how its going to cost his business money to do a return and how he needs to pay his workers and its not fair to them if they took time to help me find something, to then return it. Talked about how he has a business to run, etc. and just makes a huge deal out of it. Dude, I dont need Sarah McLaughlin singing In the arms of an Angel while you give me some spiel about how your workers need to put food on the table while you hold one of them in your arms, to guilt trip me for making a very simple return. I didnt feel guilty at all. Its a simple return for Petes sake. I was just sitting there hoping the money came from his paycheck personally, if anything. I too, am a business owner and now FFL holder, so I dont need someone telling me how business works - especially with how you run it. Someone who is as experienced as you pretend to be, would know that this is part of how running a business goes. Welcome to owning a storefront. I take it you arent there in person very often since returns seem to be a new thing to you. Then you deem it necessary to give customers who want to do one, a class on business and how you are going to be out oh-so-much money (when you really wont be) because of how you have to undo the credit card transaction and whatnot. Get over yourself. My advice to people is to just stay away from this place. Its a shame because the workers seem very friendly, but God-forbid you have to make a simple return. He will make sure you feel terrible about it...or at least try to. I will leave this review everywhere I can, spread the word to every friend I can in the area, and report this to Vortex since they have a zero tolerance policy on things like this. Hopefully, something will come of that. I dont know what that guys problem is, but hes got to work through those daddy issues before more people catch on to this and he ends up running himself into the ground. There are no excuses for that in any way, shape, or form. That was horrible business modelling.

Nice to see one selling fishing licenses and other gear. Curbside or phone orders. Also will let a few folks in at a time. Having said that grabbed a few lures (5) too be exact. Three kastmasters and a couple of mepps. Didnt look at price tags (my fault) When the cashier rang me up bill was 40.43 I about gasped. Yes I could have not taken them-but they were only game in town. I will never go back for any reason and either will any of my family. Nothing like a little price gauging

In the past few years I have purchased 2 firearms, various clothing and what not from Mark Four & Strike. It’s a family run operation and more often than not I’m greeted with a warm smile from what I suppose it the establishment’s matriarch. A lot of the floor space is devoted to firearms and related goods. There is a very wide selection, something appealing to every taste I can think of. There is high quality outdoors clothing, outdoors and sporting goods available. It’s the only place in town that I know of that carries a line of Filson garments. There is plenty of help offered and available from a warm family that is knowledgeable of the outdoors life style. The fellows behind the gun counter are well experienced and I’m sure that at least two or more are educated armorers. My experience at Mark Four & Strike is consistent, pleasant and I feel like I get my moneys worth. Thank you.

Ordered a custom holster through them. In the span of two months I called twice to see what was taking so long. Both times I was told some excuse as to why it was taking so long. Finally I had to contact the vendor directly just to find out the order was never placed. The vendor (Black Point, 5 stars) immediately made the holster and shipped it out. This took a total of 2 minutes to email them.Mark fore and strike is quick to take your money but slow to help out after. I could have saved $30 by ordering it online myself, but try to support local business. Disappointed to say I will never do business here again.
