A shortage of mini carts. Employees using the (3-4) small carts to stock shevels. I asked manager to use. Her response was Will I remove cardboard boxes. This manager needs to be trained in Customer service satisfaction. Once addressing her poor Customer service. The manager tried to justify her response as You cant take a joke. Im not here for jokes. I told her I would file a complaint. The manager walked of feeling confident, as the owners would side with her. 724 location is always customer service friendly. They are better managed and stocked.

Plenty of carts to use, staff are friendly, and great prices on most everything they carry. Random great finds for great prices, just depends on what they can get in.

They always have great discounts on different things. Never know what to expect, I try to go there once a week.

This is another nice place to shop a lot of bargains in this store and very neat place to shop, the people that work there are nice and friendly.

Grocery stores in the Reading PA area are the worst so why should this little hole in the wall be different. Its hit or miss when finding true bargains. The help is not too bright here especially the ones working the evening shift. Check my photos of the tomatoes. They advertise to shop elsewhere to save 20 cents! Stupid people. I hate to be seen there. Stupid music too.Update 12-2017: Always check your receipt. Some items are scanned wrong and its a waste of time trying to get a refund.Update 4-7-2019: These stores are getting real bad and run down. The cash register did not work and I walked out. The cashier complained that the register problem happened the day before. This location seem to stop carrying a certain item so I drove to Shillington. They have the item but the store is just as dumpy as the 5th Street location. Make me laugh. One does not SHOP at Grocery Outlet Bargain Market, one SLUMS at these stores.

This is a good store. We drive to this one instead of Allentown. The Allentown store is so cramped. This store is wonderfully clean and organized. Fantastic deals; just make sure to look at expiration dates. That said, plenty of things Ive bought here are very fresh.I also love that they have some interesting products you wouldnt see elsewhere unless youd go to some European gourmet market.

This one is nice. I like the Shillington one better because it is just organized the right way.

If you want a true review of this store, take it from me. I have worked here 2 years, so Ive seen and heard it all. First of all, yes, we do sell VERY FEW outdated products. We only sell these products if they are very, very close to the current date (and still good to eat!). Selling these helps to reduce the amount of wasted food products in America, which is a LOT! Also, we are a BARGAIN market. We are not a traditional grocery store, so we do not always have everything you need, but we have most. The items we do offer are also a lot cheaper than the other local grocery stores. My coworkers and I are very respectful and polite to our customers. Of course, we are human, too. We give you the same respect you give us, so be kind! In response to the pandemic, we have properly been following the governors guidelines to stop the spread of CoVid-19. We always wear facemasks, sanitize the carts after every use, clean the registers and pin pads constantly, and enforce social distancing procedures at the registers. Not only is this for the safety of the cashiers, but it is mostly for the safety of our loyal customers. We appreciate every one of our customers for supporting our local veteran-owned and operated business, and I hope the people who have read this review stay safe and healthy during these uncertain times.

This was my 1st time in the Market, & I found their prices to be reasonable. I stopped in there in a pinch because I wasnt prepared for the snowfall, but they had a great assortment & friendly customers who showed me how to shop for items to get the best deal. The staff could be friendlier, but I am a cool person & the prices were okay, so I can give them a pass on that one....oh yeah, they even have organic items as well.

Love this place. Can find cereals at 1-2 dollar range and never have I ever had bad cereal. Yogurts cost anywhere from 7 cents to 25 cents for Greek yogurts ( gotta get that protein in for the gains). Snacks like chips, salsa, hummus, pre cut veggies, cheese are always discounted to ridiculous prices. Amazing place. Im 190lbs and feed myself for a month here for less than $180.

I visit this store once in a while. During my visit today the employees were very friendly. They even begged me to come inside and wait for my cab because they felt that it it was too cold for me to be outside. The prices and selection are great. When my cab arrive those same empoloyees came and wish me a safe trip home. Outstanding customer service desire more than five stars.

Grocery outlet has many good deals on food and some house hold goods also. Some of their food products are only there for a short while. It is an outlet. Others they have continuously. You can get many of your staples there for a good price. Dont forget to look at the circular in the paper or you can find it on line. By registering on line they will send you deals of the week to your email.

Cheap prices. This place is definitely a bargain. I love their items. If you find a hot deal get it while they have it because they go fast.

This place is great! I get really great prices on salon hair products, premium cat foods, and high quality products like Tide pods or Gain pods, Downey fabric softener, and Dawn dish soap, most of which seem to be available regularly. They also have a great deal of bratwurst, lunch meats, and cheeses at way better prices than retail stores. Oftentimes, they have the frozen entrees of family sized lasagnas, Encores meals (varies in variety) and other frozen foods that can be a decent but quick family meal. Other frozen foods are also available, such as hot pockets, pizzas, and lots of vegetarian stuff like the burgers and chikn nuggets. Seafood, Spanish/Mexican, and Asian foods are usually there too. They have freash produce and meat, bread, milk, and eggs, and the canned and dry goods vary at times, but are quite extensive, cuz Theres always chips and pretzels, candy, cookies, and cereal for a decent discount, as well as soups and condiments and baking goods. Theres a large Adobo and spice isle with gourmet olive oils and vinegars, and so much more! They have organic food, diet foods and body building supplements, clothing, bathroom accessories, pots and pans, make up, seasonal items for gardening, camping, decorating, and other very nice discounts on perfumes and beautiful greeting cards from leanin tree. Also, You can win the amount you saved by putting your name n contact information on your receipt and putting in a box for a drawing to win the amount you saved. The staff is friendly, it is clean and well maintained, and they are so conveniently located to all of shillington, mohnton, reading and the surrounding towns. Some prices on items are really cheap, but you will sacrifice quality on the product because most of the food is outdated, not bad if it does not bother you. Most of the produce is ok, definitely not the freshest. Some of there fresh meat is not the best quality, but it is cheap.The staff is not very friendly. Bathrooms are always disgusting, and not well ventilated, I say that because You can always smell someones business if you checkout near the register closest to the bathroom area, come to think of it..... it always smells like that. Bottom line is you get what you pay for.

The 3260 N 5th St Reading, PA store is not doing their part in helping to stop the spread of this pandemic. They are not cleaning carts. They dont have wipes available for you to clean the cart yourself. The cashiers are not wiping down the conveyor belt or pin pad and are not wearing gloves.

A little difficult for those too shop at that are used to doing with a list, since there isnt always a guarantee of what will be in stock, but always a bang for your buck with what they do have. Produce addition was nice and always greeted with friendly faces.
