We retired in the metro Kansas City area several years ago after living in small towns in Kansas and Nebraska most of our lives. Consequently, we bought our vehicles through small brand dealerships and up-scale used car sellers. They were generally family owned and provided relaxed and pressure free buying experiences for us. We found family-owned and family operated Auto Max KC to be that kind of dealer. We had driven by their place numerous times and noted the variety of clean-looking vehicles they had on their lot. They buy their cars from dealer auctions, not general auto auctions, and look to be discriminating about the vehicles they buy. When we were ready to replace our van, we noted their small stock of such on their lot and stopped by to check them out. We found a clean high-mileage, therefore more affordable, van that was one owner and had a great service history. Auto Max emphasizes the use of Car Fax to choose the vehicles they sell and invite prospective buyers to use it, also. The interaction we had the sales person we first talked to and the General Manager who handled the paperwork was pleasant to the point of being fun! They were very accommodating. They also offer an affordable extended warranty and service what they sell. The next time we buy a car we will check with them first.

Worst dealership ever, Transmission on pickup needs to be completely replaced, and it hasnt even been more than a year that I purchased that vehicle from there . No wonder they only offer a warranty for only about a month, Ill be lucky If my extended coverage pays for the replacement. I dont recommend this dealership at all.

Bought a Chevy Silverado. Very pleasant experience. After we bought the truck. After the deal was done I notice the tire sensor light came on. They immediately pulled it in their shop to fix it. While the mechanic had the truck he heard a noise. They came and told me they were going to replace the water pump. They kept the truck over night, when we came to pick it up not only did they replace the water pump, but also the alternator, the belt and both windshield wipers. All at no extra charge.We will definitely be back. Great place to do business. Honest and trustworthy. I am very impressed!

We went to AutoMax KC om Saturday, after previously going to another car lot with no success. I called before going up there, as we have two small children and didnt want to load them up if the car we were looking at was already gone. Mike answered and immediately was very helpful. We drove up there, test drove the car, and ended up leaving a few hours later with the car we wanted. Mike was very nice and helpful with our questions about the car. We also worked with Alex and Andrew to get our financing done and they both went above and beyond for us. All three gentlemen made the experience easy and pain free. Even with our three year old running around, and our 9 month old needing a nap, they never seemed frustrated with the kids. It’s been a little over six months since I purchased my vehicle from auto max kc. It’s working super well. I had one minor glitch - the exhaust pipe broke and I had to pay $80 to fix it. However auto max does clearly state that the cars can have minor glitches. The tyres are also not in the best of shape according to my mechanic but they’re treating me alright for now. My sales rep was Robert (I think that’s his name - someone please let me know if that’s not the right name). He walked me through the process very nicely. I got off work late the day I had to pick my vehicle up but Robert and Pam stayed back past their closing hours to accommodate me. All in all I’m fairly satisfied with my experience.

Was very patient even sitting with me for a couple of hours while my bank loan situation was being figured out. Good price and the car was nice. Very polite and patient people, willing to work with you.

The car buying experience seemed to be fine for my husband. I only had to become involved to sign the final papers and apply for financing. Signing the papers for the vehicle itself was fine, but the gentleman who was handling explaining the financing portion was not my favorite. We left unclear what our next step would be after he made a flippant statement about how our financing wouldnt be approved because I had a temporary license. We were told what bank we would have a loan through but then received denied letters from an entirely different bank. And when I called Automax to ask questions I was told I think you were approved with the other bank. We were never notified by Automax that we were approved but we did finally get a letter in the mail from the bank that took on our loan. I typically would have asked more questions because I want to know whats going on, but from the moment we sat down with the finace guy he was short with me and would direct all of his comments to my husband as if I wasnt even there. I just felt uncomfortable and wanted to get out of there so I didnt ask as many questions as I should have.I mean overall it really was fine just would have liked better customer service.

I came to Automax, not really expecting much. I had money but no credit history. When I finally found a car I liked, Pam and the rest of their team spent days trying to find a financier that was willing to take a chance on me. Actually took a couple of weeks, but they finally did and I now drive a Lexus everybody gives me compliments on and two guys have tried to buy. Fully functional, even has the owners manuals. Low mileage and a great ride. I dont know if theres another car in my future, but if there is, itll be from them again.

No pressure on purchasing a truck. They are very informative as soon as they find out information on the vehicle youd like to purchase. I was using cargurus to find the perfect truck in my price range. Auto Max KC made everything easy with no obscured fees and no haggle pricing. Simply the price of the vehicle and 199 admin and 7.50 for licensing fee. I took it to my mechanic to have it checked and it was good to go.

Still waiting for my title so I can register my car.**Update**My son had a a VERY unpleasant experience for being a 1st time car buyer.while waiting for title he was GIVEN a dealership tag, the temp tags expired . police pulled my son over and was told the tags were reported stolen by the dealership. The police removed the dealers tags but were kind and understanding.My son had to pay $75 registration fee due to the delay getting the title. My son was told he would be given a free oil change valued at $39 for the inconvenience. The free oil change came with stipulations.

I just bought my car four days ago. Im very happy with my car, but I took my car to the car wash and the windshield leaked all over the passenger side floor. My husband called Monday morning and talk to Mike and he is having auto vision glass come out to my job and having it fix. (Tuesday @ 10:00 am). I will let everyone know what happens after he leaves. Other than that Im happy with my car. 11:50 am. (Tuesday) Jerry came out to my place of employment and fix windshield No more leaking. God is amazing

Mike helped with finding the perfect car for us. He was helpful the entire time and we eventually found a Hyundai Sonata for a great price. The only catch is that they showed us the car with new tires and switched them before we picked it up. They also wouldn’t let us get the title or keys unless we showed them a 5 star review right then. I would most definitely not go to this shady place and have the risk of getting ripped off.
