While Wholefoods was a step-down from the Bread & Circus company they bought out to get into the NE market, Amazon Wholefoods is a step-down from Wholefoods. They are in business to make money, not to feed you real wholefoods or balance your aura more harmoniously atop your immortal soul.

What can I say, I love whole foods. This location was clean and staff friendly. Prices are much higher than shaws, market basket and stop and shop that are readily available. I used to shop whole foods exclusively in NYC before I moved to Rhode Island however now I save at the other markets. Also this whole foods is smaller than most.

Sadly whenever I go to Whole Foods, University Heights, I regret doing so.After today’s visit, I realized that when I’m there I end up feeling lousy about myself. Today it was because I walked up to the register and didn’t see the hidden people in the aisle who were waiting in line. The woman who told me “there is a line” seemed uncomfortable telling me to do so.I got in another line (to avoid the previous gang) and a woman walked up to the register. Someone came up to HER to tell her “there is a line”. She felt awful. I know because she told me.I do not believe that Whole Foods values their customers. University Heights fills there store with online order shoppers. It’s crowded there anyways. Now it’s worse. It’s my mistake every time I walk in there because WFUH has never pleased me with good service for at least 5 years.I shopped that building when it was Bread & Circus.I’m not going back and writing this holds me accountable. You know the saying “crazy is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results”?By the way: many of your prepared foods were packaged 3-4 days from today. So much for “fresh”.Regarding checkout line logistics: visit Dave’s East Greenwich or Clements market in Portsmouth RITHEY HELP US FIGURE IT OUT. and they make sure I feel good about myself when I leave & excited to return.

I have been going to Whole Foods Market for MANY years and while the market is conveniently located and has a decent selection of items, as other posters have detailed, it has turned dramatically south since Amazons acquisition and the introduction of their Prime Delivery Service. In my view, Amazon has completely demolished the local market charm and healthful ambience this place once had and replaced it with a small army of shoppers that seem almost bullish in their attempts to get their shopping duties complete, while abandoning (sacrificed?) their health conscious customer base.To be fair, the veteran (pre-Amazon) staff is polite, helpful and cheerful- but some of the newer staff additions and management seem to lack the vigor and understanding that health conscious people embrace. The good: Decent selection, quality meats and produce, and some of the seasoned staff in both produce and nutrition departments are quite helpful. The Bad: The addition of Amazon / Prime Delivery services / staff has crowded the (Waterman Ave) location to the point where the shopping experience is not at all pleasurable and is both congested and irritating at times. This place used to be a gem-- seek out alternatives if youre looking for a less annoying shopping experience.

I agree with other reviewers. Amazon has wrecked this store. It was always a pleasure to shop here. Small with friendly employees and always well stocked. Now the Amazon 2 hour shoppers bang into you with their carts, and its always a mob scene with an unpleasant vibe. Theyve jammed an ugly blue depot into the seating area. The management and regular employees are still nice and helpful so its sad to have to give it a bad rating. Its not the right store for this. Amazon should use a warehouse for their service. Please give us back our store!

I used to love this whole food. The employees are nice, the store was always clean, and there wasnt a lot of people here. The recent addition of the two hour shoppers has ruined the shopping experience for me. They ripped out the cafe and added those awful blue coolers making the store look tacky. And the online shoppers are so competitive since they need to get the order done in two hours. Its just not pleasant to shop here anymore. The store is way too small to have the prime shoppers here. I miss the old whole foods of a month ago.

Whole Foods never disappoints. So much organic choices. This is not the place to go save money. Since Amazon has bought the chain the prices are good especially for those who already have Amazon Prime as they offer discounts of 10% for many items if you scan the app at the register. (They also can use your phone number if you dont have a smartphone. The bakery section is gourmet and the ready-to-eat food is great tasting and the variety is extensive. A great place for vegan food too.

Ive been a customer of Whole Foods since it opened stores in Mt Washington and downtown Baltimore. Although somewhat pricey, the quality of its produce and fish and meats are outstanding. The customer is always treated respectfully - and staff are most helpful. I was especially thrilled when WF was opening in Columbia - and dashed down to its opening day events. It was exciting and everyone was most solicitous of the customers. The wide range of fresh produce, flowers, cheeses, meats, seafood were extraordinary. However, in recent weeks - there seems to be less staff available to answer questions and fruits, vegetables and flowers lack some of the freshness and quality of opening days. I continue to enjoy the meat and seafood but question the expense and quality of some vegetables and fruit. Ive had to discard salads after 48 hrs even though the package expiration dates are several days away. The variety of veggies are less than downtown or Mt Washington - from my experience. I can attribute this to the newness of this enterprise in Columbia and HOPE it will improve in the coming weeks/months. (I was hoping this store would be on the same level as the Annapolis store... but...!

Disappointed with the prepared food. Out of town, I came for a quick fast lunch and was shocked with the difference in quality of prepared food. Besides very little choices it was really tasteless food. I have been to multiple WF throughout the USA and this is, by far, the least appealing food. I am ok to pay more if I get greater quality food. that was not it.It looked like every other grocery store food court. Not worthy! Over half of my plate went to the garbage.

This store is OK, but SMALL. Some of their sales are decent, but besides that its like you are just paying even more for shopping at Whole Foods than if you went to a normal Whole Foods. Their selection is very limited, almost like a boutique Whole Foods. They run out of the things you go there for frequently, and their products change often, so you dont know if theyll have what you need. Better off going to a regular grocery store/regular Whole Foods so you can save some money and actually get everything you need.

My wife drove specifically to Whole Foods for a sale on ground turkey, When she got there she asked for it but was given a packaged product that was not in the add. She asked about why the add pictured ground turkey in the case yet you are giving pre-packaged meat from the manufacture and they blamed it on Global Headquarters. My wife spoke to the assistant manager, Anna Marie, who understood that the add portrayed ground turkey from the case but said you have to come into the store to find out what the sale item really is. I kid you not, this was the actual statement made by the assistant store manager. If that isnt a classic bate and switch tactic and a confession to their own devious behavior, I dont know what would be. Amazon has corrupted this chain and the employees can only point to the Global Headquarters.
