I like the store. Good selection... When I needed help I had to go looking for someone. I found three employees at the resister socializing with each other. They seemed to know this wasnt right because they dispersed after one if them was trying to help.

Its nice to have this store close to us.

Big 5 doesnt carry the latest shoes, but has last years models of common brands for reduced prices. The shoe sale persons are patient and helpful. I dont usually buy other items there, so I cant speak to their other items.

Nice little store. Terrible employees. All employees were standing behind the counter chatting amongst each other ignoring customers in the store. I had to go to them multiple times to ask for different size shoes to try on. Then when I pay, the childish boy tries to flip the receipt all cool like to impress his female coworkers, causing it to fall to the floor and doesnt even apologize. All around terrible experience.

Smaller store, (Im used to bigger foot print in the Phoenix area), helpful and friendly staff. A friend got a good deal on a 5 person tent, $79 + tax. Store was very clean. Lots of merch selections.

Im not a big Sports guy but I like to camp. Big 5 tends to have a good selection of inexpensive camping gear. Its not going to be the lightest gear ever but itll get you by.I also love that every week they have a pocket knife on sale for about $20. Once again these arent the greatest pocketknives ever but theyre perfect for every day carry were you plan to use and maybe even abuse your knife. At 20 bucks, if you lose one, its no big deal. The $20 pocket knife sale is probably why I go into Big 5 the most.I also do like their store brand hiking pants as well the convertible ones... Pacific Crest I think theyre called.Ive also gotten a pretty good deal on some of their Columbia clothing.This newest Store in Prescott has great employees that are always helpful and knowledgeable.

Based on the ads in the newspaper, you might think Big 5 carries only cheap sports equipment. I was pleasantly surprised - they do carry cheap stuff but they have a good selection of quality sports gear. This store had more than enough pleasant sales people to help us and answer our questions, although 1 of them needs to unlock the door to the changing room for you. Maybe their customers are a function of their advertising?

I went to this Big 5 to purchase a pair of hiking boots. Upon entering this Big 5 I immediately noticed how clean and organized the store was. I was immediately greeted by one of the workers. She directed me to the shoe department and found me a shoe salesmen to provide assistance. I am not very well versed when it comes to shopping for hiking boots but the salesmen really helped me out and I found a great fitting pair of hiking boots. Very satisfied.

The sales gal that helped me was very patient. The store had all the sizes I wanted to try in stock. The prices are amazing.

Drop my Sunday afternoon to look at some pickleball equipment. Wandering around the store for about 15 minutes we werent ever greeted and no one wanted to help us.as we check out again we arent greeted as we approached the counter and no one says anything to us we just get stared at. This is all the way three employees all hanging out behind the cash registers are criticizing someone who just left the store. Saying I think that was a she not a he. Ha ha ha. Weve been in the store twice ever. And both times the employees were pretty horrible. Hello management?

Well stocked and the best part is the staff. They are good at assisting without hovering. This seems to be a lost art. Kudos to whoever is setting the standard for customer service.

This place sucks. Its super packed with merchandise that makes it super difficult to navigate around the store and there is nothing in order.The children left in charge couldnt be bothered to help you if their lives depended on it. We went in looking for football fear for my 6 year old they looked at us like we spoke a whole different language. They went to the back and brought two boxes of jumbled stuff and basically left us to sift through the mess.Checking out was ridiculous as three employees stood 25 feet away from the register and we stood there for a good 5-7 minutes before one boy sheepishly asked: are you ready to check out?

Ive been there many times, though at many of different stores. This one I particularly liked. I just needed some athletic shoes. The salesperson was most helpful on deciding which shoes to get. Wasnt very busy there.

I love the manager of this store! He is so friendly and helpful, not pushy at all just there to help if you need. I ended up returning a sleeping bag that didnt zip and he gave me store credit no questions ask. Theres a ton of parking and there open till 8 most nights which is great.

Good prices. Some staff never say thank you. Some say no problem which is really poor etiquette for an employee, at least in my book.

Its a good Big 5, all sporting goods stores are some level of expensive but thats part of the genre. Lots of variety, attentive staff, clean and organized, easy peasy.

I see a lot of people had a Good experience at this store i wish i could say the same we were in the store during a storm and the only customers there are patronage was repaid by 3 employees following us around and taking turns hitting on my wife she was so upset she left the store as we went to the register were the clerk took both shoes we were buying out of the box and the paper out of the shoes and box looking for any hidden items he them let me pay for the shoes and a pair of swimming googles before demanding that it was store policy to see my credit card and drivers license after having paid for my items. I have shopped at this store several times and never been treated like this nor has my wife. I should mention my disabled son was with me and wanted to know why people were talking to mom this way. These are not good people or employees and i hope big 5 replaces them all with deserving employees who respect the people who are willing to pass by walmart were i could have got both of these items for the same or less money to support a business that is part of a chain but owned by a resident of are city.

Service was very good. Unfortunately I wear size 11 workout shoes and they only had size 10s, so I was out of luck.However if you need excellent running or hiking socks. Ask to see the Therlo socks. Little pricy but I am darnning a 6 year old pair that is still in great shape except where my toenail rubs through.
