Eric at Silverlake Automotive Post Falls went above and beyond the call of duty to assist me when one of my tires got a flat on Hwy 90. He had me wait in his vehicle, while he checked out the car and then proceeded to change my tire. The team at Silver lake was fantastic!! I got stranded in post falls in the middle of a solo road trip, and they were able to work with me to get me back on the road as soon as possible. As a college student with no car knowledge, I really appreciated how helpful they were both in explaining the issue with the car and with making my experience with them a great one! I just had the best experience with Silverlake Automotive. We had an obstruction in our HVAC drainage system that was so bad that water began flooding in to the cabin. They laid out the plan to get the obstruction removed and clear any excess water from the system and were right on schedule. No delays and great communication. They even came in under the quoted price which I find to be extremely rare. Thank you!

A lot to be said about the type of people who run this business. Had an emergency and pulled off the highway due to a loud sound coming from the suspension of my wifes Subaru. Was immediately greeted and had someone go for a test drive with me to identify the problem. Without an appointment took the car in immediately and tightened a loose ball joint that had been rattling. He had me back on the road with in an hour of walking in the door and at NO CHARGE ! I mean I assumed to at least pay a fee for the inconvenient of taking their time to make sure my wifes car was in safe driving condition. They recommended I follow up with my shop that had previously done work on it to make sure there was no long term damage but had it needed repair I would have felt more than confident in taking my vehicle back to to Silverlake and will most certainly be recommending them in the future to others. Though they are in post falls and I live in Spokane they would be worth the trip to feel you can trust your automotive service providers. Confidence and trust in a repair shop is worth its weight in Oil. Thank you again and keep up the great service.

So after buying a 1966 thunderbird in need of tires, the price I was quoted was 15 % higher than ordering online, so I did. After receiving said tires I called back to see about mounting and balancing....Niki quoted me 200 bucks saying that there is a charge for not buying tires through them and everyone charges that...OK called Les Schwab....100 bucks. Goodbye silver lake automotive and my 4 vehicles.

When I am in North Idaho there is no other place I will take my vehicles.The staff operate like joyful owners. They are welcoming and enthusiastic. When they learn about your vehicle the knowledge sticks and they remember the customizations you have made and how you like things done.I have never experienced them late on a repair, they are quick to send easy to read inspection reports that rate matters in an intelligent, triaged way. I came here to get an oil change and they are probably the best shop Ive ever been to. They take pictures of any issues they find and give a link to what should be fixed soon, one isnt so dire to fix, and what passed their inspection. They talked me through all of it and with that link I got to look it all over myself. They are very trustworthy and Ill absolutely be going to them from now on for all my vehicle needs.

I went in to have my a/c recharged was told that I need a new compressor even though I just had one installed. They said that they had to take all if the freon back out of my car and charged me $112 and I didnt get anything done. So now Im out the money and still have no a/c and no money to get it filled.

Amazing service! They worked with me to get unexpected repairs completed NEXT DAY. The truck had safety issues that needed to be repaired before we towed our camper trailer. They ended up saving me a bunch of money because they ended up not having to repair an item that was listed on the estimate. They will definitely be keeping my business.Oh and, they have a 3 or 4 year (?) warranty on the repairs so I have peace of mind driving our 20 year old truck.

We used Silverlake Automotive for the first time. We were very pleased with their service, not only in terms the actual problems with our Ford truck, but in working with their personnel. They communicated well and promptly, and were personable, courteous, and friendly. Their shop is immaculate. They recommended some additional items, but they explained the reasons for the recommendations, and did not try to push them on us. Based on this experience, we will be using their services in the future.

Honest and Prompt! While on a cross-country road-trip with my wife, I started noticing my car would suddenly pull towards one side and I felt maybe there was a misalignment of some sort or some issue, unfortunately for us, we had to get back to Chicago within 2 days and were short on time. I spoke with Nate Benz, the manager and he said not a problem, hed make time to check out my car if I could bring it in right away.I was prepared to spend $150 on whatever the results were but Nate was honest, and only charged for the inspection and let me know what the issues were and how to resolve once I arrived back in Chicago (parts needed to be ordered from GM) and let us know we were safe to drive home.Its not easy to find honest mechanics and repair shops, but I feel confident vouching for this shop and would recommend to anyone in the area.

I have taken my 99 Jeep Wrangler and my 2010 Dodge Diesel, 1 Ton, to Silverlake for Repair. In all my 66 yrs, this is the most professional, competent, auto service center Ive ever had. They do what they say and they do it with excellence, on time. Their shop rate is reasonable. I cannot recommend them more highly.

I had a pretty good experience here: the staff are friendly, the service was quick, and the feedback was great. However, I also have a few complaints. When my vehicle was in the shop, I received a phone call saying that my oil appeared to be dirty. I told them that I change my own oil and told them not to change it. (At this particular time, I had already purchased a new oil filter and oil from walmart to change it myself.) However, when I went to pick up my vehicle, they said that they went ahead and changed the oil themselves. I know that they had my best interests at heart and tried to do what was best for my vehicle, but that still doesnt justify doing work on my vehicle that I specifically told them not to do. Also, when I received the bill, a few of the charges were more expensive than the quote I had received. Although this place is a little pricey, I believe that the quality of the work is better than your average shop and the customer service is excellent. At the end of the day, I work recommend this place, and I plan to return in the future with hopes of a better experience.

Amazing automotive repair shop! They really seemed to care about fixing the actual problem rather than just throwing parts and money at it. They did great diagnostic to track down the real issue. They were also able to find and repair a problem that three other mechanics said did not exist! Great customer service as well and promptly called me with updates on my repair. The name Im posting under is an alias because the work you did is under warranty and I dont want my truck ruined for leaving a truthful review. Nikki did the intake for a left side valve gasket replacement. 25000 miles later it started running real rough and leaking again. I went to talk with Nikki again about the leak on the left side. She quoted me an amount, Ive forgotten the exact amount, for doing the left side AND right side valve gasket; even though the right side was not leaking. When I told her it was under warranty, she said OH WELL WELL ONLY DO THE LEFT SIDE THEN!!!! Only doing the left side that was leaking is fine but then why try to fraudulently charge for both sides then?

I really appreciated the superb service I received when I brought in my Nissan Xterra to have the engine replaced. Even when I was feeling despondent for this unexpected turn of events, the mechanics at Silverlake Auto assured me that they will replace the engine and have my SUV to me as soon as the work was done. And they delivered as promised. A special shout out to Nate and the rest of the mechanics for their diligence and their fine customer service. These folks are great. Im in the process of purchasing a car long distance and they handled the pre-purchase inspection and even negotiated the minor repairs I needed with the dealership.
