Portsmouth Army and Navy, has civilian and military clothing including shoes and self defense products like knives, pepper spray. However i found the employees here were not very friendly and the prices way to high.

Very friendly staff and great quality made clothing and accessories to choose from. Stocked for all your winter wear to stay warm from the cold at a fair price.

Great place and great prices!! Shop small not the big box stores. They’ve been in business for so long for a reason. The staff is more than happy to help not just point you to where something is. Certainly worth the trip from Norfolk

I went in there for uniforms, which unfortunately they didnt have what I needed. I just bought a duffle bag instead, which is perfect for when I travel

I cannot say enough good things about the army Navy store family-owned business at least three generations as far as I know that my grandfather shop there now I shop there my son has shop there and daughter theyre not your place for the hip and happening styles but if you need consistent work clothes consistent t-shirts consistent pairs of jeans all sizes from regular up to Lord I think I seen 8 + 10x these people can take care of you and well do it in the nicest way now you just want to walk in someplace and be like any other store and not be bothered walk around they can do that too but thats really not where they shine they shine and you know what you want that kind of point you in the right direction and then you look at what you want they wont be on top of you but they will be there to help you

Its more a retailer of new clothes than a true army navy surplus store.Edit: thank you for the response, and I can appreciate your situation. I want to add that the staff was great and the store seems well put together. They also have a great selection of backpacks at good prices, and decent selection of boots. I will be back.

Great selection prices where a bit high large selection of jackets and coats flight jackets where 50 for a 4x these coats use to be $20 at the flea market i did end up buying a M-65 field jacket. They dont offer military discount but again the store has every thing military related or security or just general working man clothes.

The only color that matters in here is green. They give you exactly what you ask for. Staff arent hesitant to make you feel stupid. They repeat what you say, so that you can hear how silly you are. Some experienced employees try to take it easy, but they get little entertainment. Know what you want and what its called before you go in. They have plenty of options.
