I had been wanting an organic mattress for awhile, and after much research, visited Tom at the Portsmouth store. Tom was very knowledgeable, accommodating in answering my questions and extremely helpful when there was a shipping mishap. I love the bed and highly recommend this company for a top quality product. The pillows are phenomenal too!

Tom was extremely knowledgeable and very pleasant to work with. I did not want a typical mattress sold in the big box stores that contain many toxic chemicals, so I took the plunge and invested in an Obasan organic mattress. I have slept on it for just over a month now, and its super comfortable. No odors, supportive in all the right places (which I can adjust if needed, very cool). It feels great to invest in a superior mattress thats good for my health, and a sustainable/eco-friendly purchase to boot!

We came in on a road trip up the East Coast, in large part because we knew we needed a new organic mattress and there are so few places in the US that allow you to test them out by actually lying on them! Were so glad we did. Tom took us in and explained how organic mattresses work, soup to nuts. He gave us the info we needed but was never pushy or sales-y, which we so appreciated. We found a mattress we love, one that was totally different from the one wed thought we would buy if we were just buying online without testing first. I have to assume most of these posts are fake. Ive never had such a horrible experience, especially at high end retail, but even at more affordable shops. It took two months to arrive, and I was sent the wrong mattress. The company has been gaslighting me, and refusing to replace or fix their mistake. Springs sticking through, indented after a few months, etc. I would highly suggest avoiding this fraudulent company. They have a nice storefront and lovely employees, but do not actually provide quality merchandise. Instead, they are taking advantage of a local market lacking high end retail.

What a great experience. The beds are wonderful, Tom was knowledgable and easy to work with, and the delivery was a breeze. Our first night in the organic bed had us already breathing better! Were very happy with our purchase--and we LOVE those wool pillows!

Great experience from A-Z. We visited the store because wed done a lot of research and wanted a specific latex/hybrid mattress. Tom was both knowledgeable and very helpful. His product knowledge is in-depth and his customer service is outstanding. We ultimately chose a different mattress than wed initially researched. Tom suggested the Obasan, and its been a game changer for both of us when it comes to comfortable sleep. He returned our delivery follow-up and post-purchase emails very fast (I also ordered a Coyuchi duvet and had a color issue) and hes eager to help no matter how small your issue or question. Its been eight-plus months since our purchase and were very happy. HIghly recommend Tom at The Clean Bedroom in Portsmouth! Sweet dreams!

Amazing service! I wanted to wait to write this review -- It has been just 2 months with our new mattress and we are so thankful. Our mattress journey started well over a year ago when a Macys Beauty Rest Black sunk in the middle after 3 years. Long story short, the first mattress store we visited was the Clean Bedroom in Portsmouth NH; very much impressed with the mattresses but nervous to spend $$ again...We decided to try the bed in a box route -- after trying 3 well known high end mattresses over the next 9 mos. we struggled to get comfortable & actually sleep. We returned to the Clean Bedroom to meet Tom Lincoln. He spent over an hour with us, answering every question and trying to find what would work for us. We ended up buying a beautiful mattress that works for both my husband & myself. The service, the delivery, everything was 5 stars and Tom is an expert. All I can say to anyone in the market for a new mattress- you can either spend the year trying out terrible affordable mattresses or just go see Tom. Money well spent and we will never go anywhere else ever.

Ive been researching the cleanest mattress possible for months (went deep on all the brands, especially those outside the US) and found that The Clean Bedroom carried the mattresses that I had finally narrowed in on. I had a great experience with Brian, the owner, and he talked me through all of the details of the beds, their differences, and was impressively fluent and knowledgeable (and a real nice guy). I drove from an hour away and couldnt have been more pleased. If youre looking for the real deal, look no further.

Tom walked us through the components, delivered on time and when we needed to switch out one of the pieces for a firmer one, it was incredibly easy. I’m sleeping better than I have in years. I had spent a lot of time looking for a safe mattress online that met all of the chemical free/organic standards and realized how complicated it was. I finally found a mattress and The Clean Bedroom was the only carrier around. When I went in I thought Id be purchasing the one I found online and then met Tom. He genuinely wanted to help us find the best mattress for us and was very knowledgeable and willing to answer any and all questions I still had. Despite not being able to find many choices online The Clean Bedroom carried many different brands with various price ranges and they were all top standard for safety. The mattress we went in planning to buy was on the expensive end and we would have just bought it and left but Tom genuinely wanted to make sure we got the best mattress for our family. After asking what we were looking for he showed us other options and we ended up buying a mattress that worked better for us AND saved money.If you are looking into buying a safe, chemical free mattress I highly recommend skipping the stressful online research and just go in and give Tom 5 minutes to answer your questions and you will feel confident about making a decision.

It’s nice to come across a company of people who stand behind their products and all the other aspects that go into it – like sales, delivery, post-sales, and service as well. People who are passionate about what they are doing, not just someone holding down a job.We recently retired our old queen size bed that only lasted for 2+ years. It was from a reputable dealer, and we took great care for it by rotating in regularly but still found it unsatisfactory for comfortable sleeping. Here I have to admit that I am not the lightest of people, but I still need something that will provide a good night’s sleep. So, we thought it time look for something better and adjustable.After looking into premium air mattresses, we started to investigate latex a little further after reading many reviews stating air style mattresses do not work as well with adjustable bases, sinking too low in areas of adjustment, and also wanting to move away from the other disappointments we had with inner-spring and memory-foam mattresses. Latex seems to have a bit more spring, helping with turning for me.We found TCB online and spoke with Tom initially and then Brian in store. There were many choices, good choices, and we ended up choosing an Obasan Split King with L&P adjustable bases. We also purchased pillows and bedding since we just changed bed sizes. Brian spent a great deal of time answering all of our many questions in a casual and un-rushed manor, even reaching out to a colleague when necessary instead of just providing us with some canned sales-z-type answer. Very good form I thought. He also provided us with great pricing.This is our first bed to hold GOTS and GOLS certification, and we can appreciate the value the store provides in offering these type of quality products. While not an inexpensive endeavor “going organic” we feel that given the fact that since a third of our life is spent in our bedroom, this type of bed buying makes for a sensible purchase. We also feel that the knowledge provided by all persons at TCB to help us come to this decision was invaluable. They have been doing this for a while.The bed was delivered to us within 14 business days. The delivery personnel were polite and quick to set everything up. They missed hooking up a USB feature but also took off their shoes in the house because it was raining outside. Nice. After delivery, we decided to make some adjustments to a bedding order already in process which was painless.Since we have only been using the bed for about a month, we cannot comment on such things like durability, and longevity but can say they are very, very comfortable - sheets, comforters and all. They are quiet to adjust, and our sleep is well improved. High marks all around, and an exceptional experience.
