Super cool Comic Book, collectables, trading card shop. Very cool, knowledgeable & helpful owners. Massive back issue collection. Long and short boxes to dig through for days. A great community shop. Owners get to know there customers and have great conversations. They do have in store gaming for certain TCC. NICE selection of Wall books to add to your prized collection. Video Games? Yep, they have that as well. Stop in and have some fun.

I come here a lot, and I really like it there! They have tons of cool comics games, consoles, cards, pop figures and even more cool stuff. All the staff are really friendly and helpful and its a great place to hang out and meet people. The comics there are amazing too, theres old stuff, new stuff, and really good sales that come up! Probably the best comic store I’ve ever been to. 5 stars!

This is a shop with not only positive, helpful and genuinely cool staff/owners, but theyve cultivated a community of customers around them that are just as fun to be around. This is a place where new, returning and seasoned players can feel welcome and at home.P.S. This store has come to be one of the places i visit most on my time off. Its a place where despite the clutter of new items arriving and the ever growing play area makes even the most claustrophobic person feel calm. I kid when it comes to the clutter and area but am serious when it comes to the fun and tranquility this shop brings.Ive been going to this shop for id say about 4 years, and In my frequent trips it never ceases to amaze me the growth in both a shop and community this place has become. Kids and adults of all ages show up to play an arrangement of board/card/video games and read/discuss comic books and movie iterations of heroes adored by all. The owners Emmett and Doug, as well as the workers Josh, Chris, Ed and the occasional person helping out have always worked hard to make this place feel more like a home to residence in and around the Hudson Valley / Tri-State area. Ive seen friendships be created amongst the oddest of people who youd never expect to let their inner nerd shine, mine including of course. (I mean odd in an endearing way as everyone who goes to Haven [as its known for short] is considered a friend.)This shop will continue to grow and from the looks of it, it will be getting bigger and better as the months and years go by. The amount of customers grow as the weeks go by and to that adds more to the family/community that haven has worked hard on building.So congrats to the last couple of years and all youre growth. . . and heres to many more.

Great shop! I found them VERY kid friendly! I took my 6 year old in, they took time with him, showed him a special comic book area just for kids... Now hes into Pokemon and cant wait go to back!

Whatever you do stay away from this store. They are not kid friendly. I brought my five year old in for his birthday today to pick out a transformer comic and they were nothing but rude. First we get told dont kick an empty box and I brushed it off. Well not for nothing dont have empty boxes in your aisles. Second we get told we cant take comics out of their plastic covers. We arent talking about expensive valuable comics either. We are talking about comics worth a few dollars in a box underneath a pile of dozens of other boxes.I will definitely never be back to this store. Its a shame, I was hoping to share the joy of bringing my kids to a comic store for their birthdays like I used to go to when I was a child.unbelievable!

This is one of my favorite spots to go. Super nice people, if your thinking of going just go youll love it. They have comics, video games, toys, and trading cards. I got a huge hall of GI joes with my father for a great price. Cant recommend this place enough!

Haven for Heroes. Where does one even begin with this place…other than by saying that it is by far the best game store in the area, and one of the best I’ve been to in general. The sheer breadth of their offerings are surprising considering this isn’t a heavily populated area. The staff there have a strong commitment to creating delightful customer experiences and are more than willing to help you find whatever you need from their stock. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to play games, make friends, or just have a good time in general.

Awesome place!! So much awesome and retro stuff there. The owner and stuff are really friendly and will even verse you in matches on the retro console when they have throwback Thursday!! I would say it definitely is a Haven for retro gamers and those who like games like magic the gathering.

A nice little comic book with friendly staffcould use a little bit more organization this side but it looks like they were working and one of the only places open on the Tuesday I came through town looking hunt for antiques and collectibles definitely suggests stopping by and plan on stopping by when Im through that part of the country the next time

Fantastic store. Friendly and very knowledgable staff. Lots of great games, records, toys, etc. The prices are super reasonable and fair plus theyve got lots of second hand gems that you can find. Lastly, the owners are real fans that host D&D and various game nights.

Highly recommenced, the owners are extremely nice and welcoming! A comic lovers dream, also have vintage video games that you dont have to sell a kidney for. They have a little bit of everything and the store is HUGE so you dont step on one another. I love it!

It’s a comic book and gaming shop but they had vinyl lps they were clearing out. Everyone was very pleasant and laid back. Seems that there is a family of serious gamers who spend time here socializing and supporting each other. Heck, it is a better alternative to hanging out at a bar. Place is a tad cluttered and could use some reorganizing and such but hopefully that is on the agenda for the new year. Came away with some excellent vinyl for cheap. Spent a few hours sorting through boxes and drawers.

Im sure its a great store but someone driving a car (a navy PT cruiser maybe?) with the Haven for Heroes logo on it nearly ran my family of 7 off of I-84 late this afternoon. I honked my horn but the driver just kept coming into my lane and forced me to slam on the breaks to avoid a fiery death for me and my family.

DO NOT GO! I was walking into the store and I was greeted by like 10 smoke/vape people outside, then proceeded inside to see inflated pricing on most comics and kids running around cursing and talking about vaping with owner right there saying nothing about it. Had a bad moldy smell. Left wont return.

With the biggest selection of MtG singles and comics in the area by far, a casual console setup right up front, and a burdgeoning retro gaming section, Haven for Heroes is well worth going out of your way for, even if you dont live in Port Jervis.

I have been going here for a while to buy MTG cards. The staff is very friendly and down to earth, they are always looking to help with whatever way they can. They have the biggest variety and selection of Magic The Gathering cards Ive seen. They have regular weekly Modern and Commander format tournaments. They also carry older and newer video game systems and games for them (GameCube, N64, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, you name it). They normally have a group of Smash Brother players also if thats your forte. They also have a huge selection of comics to choose from (70s-Modern). If your looking for a LGS with ownership that cares about its playerbase then I would recommend this store for you.

Its in the middle of a floor change but man is this place fantastic. Tons of comics toys board and card games... even a badass selection of old console games movies and cds. Super friendly owner and staff! Customer for however long it exists which could be forever if you show your support which it absolutely deserves.

Needs to be cleaned up a bit and back issues pruced properly and it would be even better! Otgerwise, my go to spot for new comics and various memorabilia

This place is absolutely terrible. I seen three fat kids go in and I wasnt allowed in there because I wasnt fat enough. Plus they wont take my limited edition charizard card and my one piece comics. Im gonna gain some pure weight and come back maybe theyll welcome me then. Overall I recommend this placecuts amazing.
