I unfortunately do not make it into Lulu Brandts eponymous boutique regularly anymore as I now live on the East Coast. However, whenever I return to L.A. this is a must-stop shop for me. Anyone who knows me knows that I have a rather no-nonsense, generally unremarkable style of dress. But when I step into Lulus store I metamorphose into Cinderella going to the ball. Lulu has exquisite and unique tastes which makes for a delightful collection of statement pieces. She really should be a personal stylist because her ability to suggest memorable outfits is extraordinary. Do I like everything she suggests? No, but pushing my style boundaries (if only in the dressing room) is half the fun of shopping here. And those special dresses, pants, and shirts I have chosen here over the years have become wardrobe staples that still receive glowing compliments when I wear them to go out years later -- in no small part because they are such a shining diversion from my more plain day-to-day style. I spend half as much here as I would at Neimans or Saks, and walk away with clothes that are infinitely more unique and stylish, and stay with me and make me happy for years longer. I absolutely love Lulus.

LuLu is a skilled shyster who preys on others vulnerabilities to get the sale. She knows how to flatter your self image and pushes to her financial advantage, does so to even long-term patrons. No means no LuLu!
