Ace has a decent amount of DIY items from, plumbing, electrical, and gardening. Considering how small the store really is.

I used to be a regular customer of Ace when I lived in Lake Forest, CA. But since moving to Palm Desert I have found that my home improvement shopping has been closer to home. But my daughter recommended Ace when I needed a specialty item. I was reminded upon entering the Palm Desert store how wonderfully cordial the employees are, and even more...how helpful. Such a well-stocked store with the warmth and feel of a neighborhood business. Loved it, will be back.

Im a maintenance worker for my apartment complex just down the street from the store. Ive never had any issues with staff or items Im looking for, they are extremely knowledgeable & outgoing & help you make the right decisions on parts to get job done correctly. I went in for a part the other day that no store like Lowes or home depot had & neither did ace but they went above & beyond & special ordered it for me when the other stores said they couldnt. It may be a little bit more pricey than other stores but Id rather pay it because of the level of service. Great team guys, keep it up. Thank you.

Ace is the place! My dad and I used to shop here at least once a week when I used to work with him 30 years ago. They still have everything you might need, even some of the specialty stuff you cant find in the bigger stores, and the customer service is awesome!

Today wasnt our best experience at Ace. We went looking for a screw that holds the pull on our table drawer. The salesman approached us trying to be helpful, but as soon as we showed him the parts we were trying to connect he became extremely negative. He kept insisting that we could never find it and there were no options.2 minutes later we found the drawer pulls on our own and simply bought a new one. They salesman could have suggested options instead of standing there repeatedly stating we couldnt fix our issue.

Great little place always has what you need fair prices great staff. check out areas is a little bit of a maze but my guess its to slow traffic on the way out purposely. Keys, paint, lights, and everything else you need. Staff is really considerate and always helps out, they go out of their way to most of the time and see your needs fulfilled.

I was pleasantly surprised by my visit. I was asked if I needed help finding something, I was quickly led to it, the person answered my questions and I was left to make my choice. At the checkout stand I was again surprised to find out that the prices were the same or better than the big stores.

I have been going to this same Ace Hardware for going on 15 years. Always helpful, always friendly, always a good experience. Now, yesterday the 24th I went to purchase a cheap circuit tester, they do carry the expensive ones too, as they are all now locked on the hooks with magnets, I asked for assistance. Friendly enough until this employee tells me hell take the item over to the cash register, I said I can do that, He said no, its now store policy due to recent theft problems. That would be fine if it was an expensive item but, a $13.00 item? Come on, if there is one thing i cant stand, its a person who thinks they are law enforcement, when they are not. It was not just the act itself but the employees whole attitude.I will not be treated like a common criminal in a place I frequent 2 to 3 times a week. I think Ive earned their trust and respect in 15 years and should have been shown some back. I go out of my way to support local businesses, instead of buying online, or at a Home Depot, or Lowes, but, no more.

They had everything I needed and people were around to help. I had ordered something online to be delivered to the store and then remembered I needed many other things. It was great. Although it was hard to resist all the cute decorator items there too.

Has all the stuff for small projects around the house. They are very helpful in answering questions and helping locate items in the store, but the staff seem annoyed that they have to interact with customers.

Typical Ace Hardware store. Very well stocked with a large variety of products, helpful older staff who seemed to be knowledgeable about the products in the store. I found a good supply of fasteners, and got the items that I needed fairly quickly. Narrow aisles are the sole reason I didnt give it 5 stars.

I love this store. If you are looking for any kind of hardware, they have it. Paint, cleaning supplies, tape, keys, locks, plumbing, this is your one stop shop!! Cute neighborhood feel and wonderful employees make for a pleasant shopping experience!!!

Great local hardware store. If you need something for an mid century house this is your place. The staff are very helpful and extremely knowledgeable. They also have a great selection of Air Conditioning filters at good prices. Some items in the store are a bit pricey, others are affordable.

Knowledgeable employees. Better prices than Home Depot and Lowes. Great selection. Had keys made and every one of them worked perfectly unlike Home Depot.

Everyone was nice. The paint guy helped us right away. However, the place is a crowded congested mess. I will go back because everyone was friendly and helpful.

I love Ace Hardware and will travel miles to go there. My recent experience at the Palm Desert Ace Hardware was with Ed. He spent about a half hour with us helping us solve a problem we had with a table that had an unfortunate meeting with nail polish remover! He helped us match the stain and gave detailed instructions. He then offered to give instructions again so we could write them down on my phone. This kind of customer service has ensured our loyalty to Ace.

Staff is very helpful- and willing to help. They will help carry out heavy objects. One of the best parts the layout is always the same- doesnt change weekly like big box stores

Ace has always been my preferred home maintenance store. They do many things by hand that the others use a machine for, like the key I had copied here. Theyre always really polite and helpful here.

Pretty much the only old school hardware store left in Palm Desert. Worth a visit for quick trips for parts and hardware. Super friendly old fashioned customer service.

Terrible service. Was treated like we didnt matter; like we didnt belong. Only had No for the answers to several of our questions. No suggested alternatives, nothing helpful at all.And the store lay out is ridiculous! Forcing you into Disneyland-like turnstiles to get in or out of such a tiny store? Never again.

Store has a lot of items, you can order items not stocked on Ace app/website or through store. Typical over lower cost price point and better quality item for tools. Staff very helpful and knowledgeable. They can direct you to local supplier if they dont have or stock out (rare). A local True Value Hardware store I go to, refers customers here for items they dont carry. Key duplication, best in area. Paint area is small, but quick in quick out, not hour long process like some local big box stores.

Ive needed a particularly sized screw & Ive been to the too big hardware stores & could not find it or sufficient help. I was delighted when I believe his name may be Tom; however, he would be the only one who could find a screw with a handle on it that I could use to tighten my oxygen cart. Then when I was told he could cut some of it off so it didnt stick out, I almost jumped for joy!I am so impressed with the exceptional quality service your employee provided. Give him a raise! Ill come back because of this experience! Thank you

Dont have the bulk that The depot or lowes has. But has more items for your everday home and smaller items you cant fond anywhere.

I have driven the extra few miles to go to this store instead of the nearby Lowes because of their expertise, and have usually had a good experience but now will not be going back. I went in today with a burnt out bulb and asked the sales person to match it. (it was an odd bulb) He never spoke to me, took the bulb, appeared to look for it and then suddenly disappeared and never returned. I got a manager to help, who said that no one else (other than the three sales people on the floor who were not the one) were working that day and none of his sales people would do that. He ultimately changed his story and said that the employee I was describing was at lunch but we should wait until he returned in about 45 minutes. We needed the bulb to get the right replacement, so there was nothing we could do. No apology, and he made my wife and I feel like we were a bother. We were flabbergasted that he seemed to feel that the lost bulb was our problem and that the store played no role. There was little he could have done to fix the problem but I would have expected an apology or some demonstration of concern. Ive rarely been so shocked at a complete lack of customer regard, especially at a store where people gladly pay more in exchange for excellent service. I just located a True Value store Ill be trying next time instead.
