Very nice place. Large and very varied. Staff is great in the social distancing is good. Only reason for four stars is that theyre often nobody Manning the customer service desk.

Safeway has such great fruits and vegetables. Fresh and clean. Their butcher meats are very well priced if you have a Safeway card. But the people that work there! Always so friendly and fun.

WRITING THIS REVIEW AS I STAND BEING IGNORED AT THE DELI! I PATIENTLY WAITED MY TURN AS THE YOUNG MAN FINISHED HELPING ANOTHER CUSTOMER. A GENTLEMAN THEN WALKS UP TO WAIT, AND AS THE YOUNG MAN FINISHED HELPING THE OTHER CUSTOMER, HE JUST LOOKS OVER AT ME AND BEGAN TO HELP THE GENTLEMAN WHO JUST WALKED UP! I SAID, “DO I NEED TO COME STAND OVER THERE??” HE THEN SAYS “WELL I WAS WAITING FOR SOMEONE ELSE TO COME HELP YOU.” AND PROCEEDS TO HELP THE OTHER GENTLEMAN! DID NOT CALL TO COME HELP ME LET ALONE TRY TO HELP ME! AS I WAS ABOUT TO WALK OFF, ANOTHER GUY COMES OVER AND SAYS, “DID YOU NEED HELP?” I CAN’T WITH THIS SAFEWAY!

This rating is for the gas station. They need to be more consistent on keeping their window cleaning stations stocked and filled. Overall, the gas station is clean and looks good, just a lack of care for the small details.

Sad they gave in and added self check, hence the 4 stars. I loved that Safeway was the holdout and you always had a cashier. Store is well kept and employees are nice.

I just love the way the butcher makes the packs of meat with Little to no fat. I love the prices I shopped and only paid $170 but my saving was$160.

This is my go-to grocery store. They have great digital deals, good produce + meat selection, self checkout with no line and friendly associates- what more can you want? I do wish the store was open until at least 10pm as Im a fan of late night grocery runs, especially now. That being said, the store is hardly ever crowded and they are taking the mask policy seriously. Thanks for keeping us safe, Safeway!

Lawd Ham Mercy!!! Safeways bakery has these Heath chocolate chip cookies, that will make you want to buy out the bakery! However, if you do PLEASE DONT BUY OUT ALL THEM COOKIES.I almost want to delete this review so I can insure theyll be some when I want them. 😂The prices are reasonable there too.

Safeway had very helpful and friendly employees especially in the customer service department. I had my issue solved quickly and to my satisfaction. I really like the Safeway at the Rancho Visto location.

Nice Safeway. Not too busy most of the time. They have had pumps out in the parking lot to spend you gas points at. Very convenient. The store is quite clean.

Ive always liked this Safeway that is tucked away and never too crowded. They have gas pumps too which is nice since they offer a cents off deal when you shop there too.

Why are the Safeway stores so under lit and gloomy? Is it some type of marketing ploy, I cant wait to get out of there.

My favorite grocery store in the area. Clean, tidy, wide aisles, good meat/seafood counter, produce section includes items I have trouble finding elsewhere. I have to drive further to shop here, but often do.

Quite supberb shopping experience i had today. Everyone was so kind and even the karen that attempted to run me over with her shopping cart was so kind by attempting to go faster. What a terrific community we have here.

Shopping carts everywhere! Im in this lot daily and healthy people leaving their carts 10 ft from the return, right next to nice cars and blocking entry ways of other businesses. Ive never seen anything like it. Safeway, please get this under control. A lot of us feel this way. Thank you.

Always like Safeway. This store is large, clean, and well stocked. They have a gas station onsite. Parking is OK but exiting to go south or east is inconvenient. (You need to find the rear entrance and cut across traffic or do a U-turn on a 3 lane road.)

Normally dont post reviews, however I am livid when a snotty night manager denies me entry 5 mins before close because the registers are all closed. Ive worked retail before sad to see what cuts as management now a days. Ill be shopping at Frys as this wonderfully awesome employee SO condescendingly suggested.

My place for good meat!

This shopping center generally, and Safeway in particular, always seems to be just a little disorganized, old, decrepit and run-down.The Safeway is, actually, very clean and it even has a new Starbucks installation where I like to buy my afternoon drinks. But, the Safeway in general has a 25 year-old design. It took Safeway two years after everyone else had them, to install Self-Check-Out registers, but it has them now.The shopping center in general, including the rather down-turn BofA branch, just seems like its given up.

Great store with awesome produce, seafood, and meat departments. Plus an outstanding selection of wines.

The people that work there are so friendly. Each time I ask for help, the person stops stocking and walks me to where I need to go. They do run out of advertised specials and are great at offering a raincheck. They have even offered an equally valued replacement. The prices are a bit higher than the other neighboring supermarkets, but the people there make it worth it.

I like shopping here. Its clean and friendly. And its convenient to a lot of homes in the area. They recently lowered the price of some produce so theyre competitive in some ways, too.

This place has great fresh produce, friendly staff, and quick checkout lines. Theyve also got the best takeaway tomato bisque and French bread of any grocery store in Oro Valley.

I try to love this store, as it is close to the house. They do seem to have reasonably good stock levels. The produce is a turn-off, as the freshness of the items is sometimes questionable. I go down the street, where the selection and presentation seems much better. The staff in the store are generally friendly, but it can be difficult to find help here. There are adequate cashiers, just had to find someone on the floor. The deli selection has few meat items without nitrates and nitrites, and those that are without have phosphates. Every time a suggestion is made, you get the that decision is made by Safeway... so kind of pointless to make suggestions. If you accept the store on face value, it is a 4. It could be better, but it could be much worse. The Starbucks is usually very good, although the Sunday crew can be snotty. Charging 25 cents for water, when you purchase coffee, is not a friendly suggestion. Monday through Friday crew will gladly give you water, assistance, whatever it takes.

It was clean out on the floor, one of the stalls in the ladies, needed some help. The cashier was friendly. The were out of the wine I wanted, but I found a close substitution easily, because they have a good selection.

They have what I want. Including great roasted Chicken

As far as supermarkets go, this is a good place to buy stuff from! The facilities are clean, well stocked and organized. The staff is friendly, and willing to assist at any time. Management is excellent, and takes great personal pride in their store. I do find Safeway in general to be a bit more pricey than, say, Frys or Target, but not so much that I dont shop here from time to time! Plus...they have really good donuts!

Safeway is a clean place to shop. with the exception of the produce area. Employees are friendly & helpful. In the past the produce Dept was the best. Now there are smells like mold or spoiling produce. The produce is not as high quality as in the past. Other areas of the store are fine.

This store has gone through major changes...most importantly there are now plenty of cashiers. Produce is fresh and very attractively presented. Seafood and meat counter is inviting and very courteous staff. Store is clean and well lit. Self checkout is needed. Bakery needs to get that awesome sourdough bread out faster. Local residents will return!!!

Cool store. I like the little bronze javelina statues out front. And the pharmacy is nothing short of first class. Very knowledgeable and accommodating staff.

Location is pretty hidden so it can be easily missed as you drive by but store itself is clean, employees are nice and efficient. Ive been there a couple of times and theyve been out of stock on some of the items I wanted but most of the time you can get a raincheck! Items that are not on sale tend to be a bit pricier than at other grocery stores but that is just how this chain works!

The quality of the food at Safeway is always good and the employees are always very pleasant. Not having a self-checkout can make things a little slower, but they work hard at keeping the lines shorter. This location is just out of the way for anybody that does not live in Rancho Vistoso, so it can be a problem to get in and out of.

We like Safeway, store is clean, folks are helpful. They need to review their Stocking and restocking time tables. No matter what time of day you shop, sale items are Always not available. If you ask for assistance, generally the Stocker will find the items in the back room. Kosmo
