Great service! I was visiting family for a few days and tackled a blown head gasket on a Jeep 2.5L. These guys cleaned, checked and milled the head in less than 24 hrs after my initial call. They also cleaned an aluminum valve cover that was caked in carbon deposits. Quality work and within my time window. I cant say how much I appreciate that kind of service! This will be my go-to machine shop when Im in Utah.

The machine shop does great to excellent work and has decent people to take care of needs. The shop uses them and trusts the work which thus far has been above standard service. Thank you to everyone who helps me do the jobs needed to be done.

Highly recommended!This review is coming late but I had Cleggs bore the block and repair some damage on the head of my Honda K-series autocross car. Every bit of machine work was top notch! Not to mention I got everything back clean and organized. The engine is solid! 195psi on all cylinders, revving high and running cool. Thanks! I will be returning for any other automotive machine work needed.

Truly the best machine shop Ive ever worked with. I had gone to other places in the past but none compare the Cleggs. I brought in a head that ended up being cracked. So they waited for me to source another head. After pulling another head from a junk yard that eneded up being cracked as well they waited yet again for me to source another head. Once I found a head that wasnt cracked they promptly assembled the good head and made it better than new. They do high quality work and I will recommend everyone to this shop. Earl and Hunter are totally awesome. Definitely go here its worth it.

These guys get the job done right. I would recommend to anyone. The engine is solid, 305/334 stroker/matching number on a 1989 IROCZ. I shipped the block from Miami FL. I told them every thing I wanted they delivered. They sent pictures through out the process like watching a baby being born. I love my stroker motor. Kevin is an impressive sales man, he made me feel at ease and explained every step of the way. Well worth the extra money it was to ship it, they are truly pros in the industry.

No way would I use these guys again. I switched to try them to have a head shaved instead of the usual guy I use because they quoted me a lower price, well that lower price sure has cost me a lot now. They wanted to turn my $65 head shave into a $300+ valve job after looking at the head and kept trying upsell me. After having to go to the shop several times to talk with them on what my head actually needed, we settled on them replacing the 1 actual bad valve and drilling out a broken exhaust bolt and told me it would be about $50-$75 more than just the head shave. When they called me to pick it up I had to ask him repeatedly to tell me the total on the phone, he looks it up and tells me $225 ... naturally I was irritated. After talking to them again they told me the total was only $150. Not sure what went on in the background between calls and I was not excited about $150 since it was still more than we had talked about but I wanted to just get the motor running again and so I paid and picked it up.Well now its a month or so later as it took me a week or 2 to get the Jeep back together, and then spent the next 2 weeks trying to figure out why it ran so crappy (thinking it was plugs or timing or something) ... well finally started to suspect the head. Well I put new plugs in it ran it for a few mins then pulled them and the center 2 spark plugs are totally burned, so initially thinking a stuck valve or something something else worse (which is the cylinder they replaced the valve). Not sure what these guys did but now the valve cover bolt hole connects to a water passage. Yeah imagine my surprise when I started removing the valve cover only to find the radiator fluid started coming out of the valve cover bolt hole. You can shine a flashlight down into the bolt hole and it goes straight through now. And when I pulled the head it was clear that the reason it was not running right is because it was not sealing between cyl 2 and 3 which only leads me to believe it was not surfaced correctlyWhatever you do, go somewhere else, the guy in the front office was super nice, but thats the end of positive things I have to say about them. The guy in the back was rude and this head is ruined and I am out about $300 in parts and labor (not to mention weeks of time) and now I gotta go find a new head. My worst experience with a machine shop ever.Thats a lot of work and money wasted.

So far things are good. Still waiting to hear what the damage is but I am pretty sure I know but waiting for the official word.

Have a 292 y block I brought in to have work done, staff is quick to work when production is slow, but when backed up they do there best to get you in and done, the only downside threw Clegg would be you dont really get a detailed receipt of work done and who worked on it, but other than that I believe it to be as good place

Full service machine shop! Built a barracuda years ago and the guys did the machine work on the engine. That thing was a screamer! Balancing, port and polish, decking, stroker kits, even hovering with deck plates! They can do it all!

I bought a rebuild kit from them and Ive gotta say this is one of the best all time customer service experiences Ive ever had. The guys over there really know their stuff and was super helpful getting me the correct info. I live in Colorado and I ordered a kit from them and it showed up at 11 the next day. I had to get more parts and they went above and beyond to help me with that too. Its really hard to find a company like this, I will definitely continue to do business with them.

They have A-mazing customer service!! I picked up a rebuild kit and the whole experience was perfect. There was a minor cosmetic ding on a piston and they helped fixed it with NO problem! No fussing over the fact it didnt matter or anything. When he came back he explained it well to me. I loved coming here and definitely always be first on my list to call for any parts or service

These guys did an excellent job machining some heads I needed done. Tony and Lance are knowledgeable and helpful. Lance helped me find a block I needed for my truck. Only a handful of good machine shops and Clegg machine is definitely one of them.

Completely honest. Do their jobs right. Dont get them confused with the guys around the corner. Id drive a car from another state just to have them work on it (did this on a cross-country trip).

I have been dealing with these guys for many years, they have always been excellent. Just had them do 2 more engines for me and I will keep coming back. Especially since they now do Subaru engines!

Brought a volvo 850 turbo head in to be resurfaced, had it done in a few hours and the price was reasonable. I do my own mechanics and had a lot of questions that they answered with ease, very knowledgeable. Im bringing in a 97 civic lx head right now to be resurfaced and on the phone they were friendly and knowledge again and gave me advice about the valves but werent pushy on selling it to me if I didnt want to.

They passed my cars safety and emission test and fix one other problem in a cheap way with very low price-----compare with other place which fails me and offered me a much higher price to fix it.My car is old and I dont want to spend lots of money on it. They did the way which is best for my case.

Bought a 331 stroker kit from them. The Scat crank was out of spec as were the rods. Clegg Machine refused to go good for the machining and basically turned their back on me. They also sent me big block Chev intake manifold bolts when I ordered small block Ford ones. I will never be back. Stay with reputable people like Summit, Jegs etc.

Makes systematic mistakes and continues to make mistakes when addressing the original mistake. Also make minimalist efforts to correct the error. DO NOT bring your business here. They have no concept of customer service. Charged me premium price but gave me inferior service.

Took me six engines to find one they could work with, but they never seemed annoyed, and did a great job getting an old AMC cleaned up and ready for my Jeep

We had to get our transmission replaced. I think they were honest and had decent pricing. No complaints.

When I was a poor college student, I took my car here in an attempt to save. I had thrown a rod and destroyed my engine. I paid them $2,500 to rebuild it. It didnt work properly afterwards. Sometimes the car started, but usually it didnt, and sometimes it would stop in the middle of intersections.I returned my car to them, they had it for 2 weeks and couldnt diagnose the problem but wanted to charge me $1k for diagnostics. They wouldnt let me have my car until we settled for about $300. I took the car to the local dealership and in an hour they found the problem, replaced the Cam sensor, and I was outta there.

I been working with Cleggs for years and sent hundreds of jobs to them and although things happen in this industry they have always been willing and able to provide the best service to me as a customer and to that of those i have sent down. I would recommend them over most if not all machine shops in utah. Dont be fooled by the never happy customers that write a bad review because you wont give them a discount, these guys are very good at what they do .Earl and Kevin have been in the business a very long time and you cant beat their knowledge or experience.

Good Work, got my 03 Aleros heads resurfaced, and two bolts taken out at a fair price. It was ready the next day.

They put in my husband AC pump didnt put the line back in correctly it rubbed against his inner cooler and now there is a $250 hole in it. they said that they do it. Thats ridiculous! You cant trust them, they are crap mechanic that dont back up their work. Worse than Wal-mart.

Had Clegg’s machine my block, they looked everything over and informed me of what needed to be done. They ordered the parts I needed and had everything cleaned and machined, and ready to pick up in a timely manner! I reassembled it myself, and every one of the clearances were dead on perfect. Everything went together smoothly, I’ll definitely be having them do my future engine projects! You can’t go wrong with these guys and their professionalism. There’s a reason they’ve been in business as long as they have.
