If you own a Subaru this is your shop. Friendly fast service, up front, honest, and most important best prices around. Because, they only work on Subarus their prices are lower than anywhere else. I have a 1999 Outback and this is the only place I will take it. Took it in recently for the windshield wiper transmission. They did a full diagnostic for free and gave me a report that was easy to understand. They took their time going through all the work I needed, what could wait, and helped me come up with a plan that fit my budget. I took it in when I tried to repair my shifter linkage and couldn’t figure it out. They just charged me to finish what I started.

Hands-down one of the most competent and most honest repair shops Ive ever had the pleasure of dealing with. My 2009 Outback needed a new catalytic converter AND it was nearing 100k miles, which meant a timing belt change, plus who knows what else.Mountain Tech did a thorough assessment, which of course came back super-expensive because it was so exhaustive. My final repairs were expensive, given their scope, but I was treated fairly and the shop spoke honestly to me about which services were truly needed and which could be put off.The car drives like a dream now, and the repairs came in much cheaper than the original estimate, as a few could be bundled to cut down on labor. Once youve got the engine opened up to fix the timing belt, for instance, you can do a lot of other stuff quite quickly, without needing to open it up for those separate tasks.Very honest, very skilled, very reliable. No one likes spending money on repairs, but if you need to, it wont be wasted here.

These guys are awesome :) I bought a rebuilt 2008 Outback from them in August, and it runs better than the 2015 I was replacing. They are helpful and responsive and I know where Ill be getting my oil changes :) A totally positive experience!

Everybody seem great and very knowledgeable. They were very good at communicating what was wrong with my car and I did not feel like they were adding extra things as some people are sometimes concerned about. Their software system that presented a overview of my cars health was also pretty awesome.

Customer service is amazing, they always had a loaner car for me to drive home and use while they worked on my car. They are really NOT in the auto sales biz...their priority and is definitely on Subaru service and repairs, and in building and keeping a loyal clientele. (Suby owners are often fanatics lol). HOWEVER, you can snag a great cash deal on a reliable Suby that they have overhauled to their own specs. I appreciate their candor as well. No qualms on their ethics. Nice small LOCAL biz with good people who know what they are doing. Check them out.

Peter and the guys at Mountain Tech have always treated me so well that I am not even sure how to put this into words.Two weeks ago, wildfires struck the Oregon City area. I was having my 1999 Subaru Outback alternator worked on in the morning within hours of the city and surrounding areas declaring a get ready to leave at any moment evacuation notice.Without a car and stranded at home, I was very stressed and panicked and had no idea how Id evacuate if I did not get my vehicle back somehow. Peter made sure the job was done by the time they closed mid-afternoon working throughout the massive chaos and horrendous smoky air quality dominating the city. Thanks to all those who endured working in those conditions.I am so beyond thankful for all the ways this shop has gone completely out of their way to ensure their customers are safe and satisfied. BEST SHOP AROUND!!! I will never go anywhere else! First of all, the customer service is THE GREATEST. Peter is so knowledgable, friendly, and extremely helpful. They do quality work, never pressure me for add on services, and are highly communicative about whats happening with the car while its in their care. Today I was in for an oil change. They always do a great job. They never push to do extra work but let you know what they see and if it needs to be done right away or if it can wait. Always tell you up front what needs to be done and what it will cost. Their service is always great. Ive been going to them for many years now and wouldnt go anywhere else.

I had asked them to replace a motor entirely. I get the bill and its my old block remanufactured and they didnt even wire it correctly. I take it back and they played games and acted like its just part of the process and tried to charge me even more. Needless to say its a waste of 5,000 dollars

Our transmission needed to be rebuilt in our 2011 6 speed Outback. After speaking with a number of different shops who said they werent comfortable working on this particular transmission, due to its fragile nature, we went with Mountain Tech on a friends recommendation. From the start, the team at MT instilled confidence that they were experienced with this particular transmission and could get our car up and running for a reasonable price. We couldnt be happier with the work they did and would recommend them highly! :)

Mt.Tech is my go-to for any work on my forester!I bought a sketchy forester from a private seller, and it started to have quite a few issues. Ive been embarrassed to take it anywhere, because I didnt want to admit that I had bought a bad car. But I didnt feel judged in the slightest when I talked to Peter about my predicament! He was very kind and understanding about it, while the awesome techs dedicated their time to my vehicle. I got my car back in a timely fashion, and am very pleased with the work done.Any more problems that pop up (and Im sure they will), I will only be taking my car to mt.tech. We had out 2003 forester engine replaced here and they were so nice and helpful. They explained what they found as they got further into the job and kept us in the loop with the progress!

The alternator in my suv is going out so when my car died I pulled in it’s a shop I thought a went in and asked if they could give me a jump and r if they could charge my battery so I could get the last mile home I was told they had a jump box but that’s all they could do ok hoped that would charge it enough to get home but it didn’t even get me out of there parking lot so I asked if they could put it on a charger and was told where a battery store 4 or 5 blocks away was I said ok is my car fine till it can walk a battery down there charge it and come back his answer was tow it I said I couldn’t so he said I had till there lunch was over so I carry the 50 lb battery down to the place I must have stopped to rest 15 times the workout of a lifetime and I still had to lug it back uphill upon my return I asked to borrow a wrench because when my battery is dead my doors don’t open and I just wanted to exchange the batteries I was told they would come give me a jumpstart enough to get the doors open but they would not loan me a wrench OK young man came out named Alex very nice and tried to put enough juice in there to get the back door open it wasn’t working so he went and got a wrench that would fit the battery but as soon as he started to help me the owner came out and got very upset with him for helping me said he had other things he had to do So he left me standing there a few minutes later Alex snuck a wrench over to me and I was able to put the new battery in and get my car running but not because the owner or manager whoever the gentleman was was helpful or anything very rude in fact not a place I would take my business to or buy a car from

I took my 2009 Subaru Impreza to Mountain Tech and was extremely impressed. They were professional and courteous. They went above and beyond fixing my clutch, washing my car, and even throwing in some gas. This has been one of the most pleasant mechanic experiences of my life. The car was done way in advance and they even came in slightly under budget. They used all A+ parts as well. I cannot recommend them highly enough. - 5 stars

So its been an uphill battle with my subie getting it back on the road, just non stop maintenance here and there. So I stopped in to mountain tech one day on my lunch break because I was curious about what they could do to help me... being honest, I am a DIY kind of person and so having to bring it to a shop was not my first choice. But after having been with Peter and Matt and letting them replace my wheel bearings in the rear. After that was done, I had it for a month when my clutch started to slip. So I replaced the clutch and it was still sliping. So I take it back to Mountain tech to get it checked. And to my surprise, my rear axle had slipped out of the diff enough to grind my the ends together and wear out my rear diff... So they replaced my rear diff and axle all for an amazing price! I would not have paid unless the price was fair and it was a great price! And they know their stuff too! Thank you to Matt and Peter! Yall are awesome!

Been awhile! Had a engine reseal on my 2005 Forester! Took over 2 weeks, with me having to call for updates. I was a retired ASE Certified Master Technician! But had no space to perform the work. When I picked up the car, the coolant jug was almost empty? WTH? The washer fluid jug was empty! WTH? I asked why, and his response was ? We dont stock those fluids??? What the hell! On top of that they swapped out my original motor for a stocked reseal motor! Never again!

Best Subaru mechanics around, and honest besides...acrare combonation. They did a full engine rebuild on my 2006 Forrester it runs better now (207k miles) than it did with 50k. As to thrir honestey. I recently brought the car in wit bad sqeaking/banging in the rear suspension. Expecting the worst. I was amazed when they told me it was a bolt in the strut that had loosened up like a quarter of a turn. They tightened it back up, problem solved....the charge: $8. for the 2 qts of oil I was low, which they also checked! When is the last time anyone got a repair bill like that for ANYTHING?👍🏼🎖😋

Mountain tech is honestly the best shop Ive ever delt with. I had head gaskets and piston rings done along with a new shifter knuckle. My car is better than it was when I bought it now, due to Matt and his team. I had a completely non related over heating issue with my car so I took it right back to Matt. He was so very very awesome to fix this issue with no cost. Mind you this issue has nothing to due with the h.g. job. Ok folks, get ready for a long winded, potentially entertaining story! I have a 1997 Subaru which was given to me by my father who passed away five years ago. The car originated in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where I originally came from before moving to Southern California, on a dare, from a Phi Sigma (Clarion, Pennsylvania) Fraternity Brother in 1987. One day the Subaru arrived at my front door, on a transport truck, prepaid delivery. The trucker knocked at the front door and said he had something for me. It was an unexpected gift from my father. Though that was sometime ago, this car means so very much to me. I vowed to maintain it well and keep it running. This car means so much to me that I go inside before making important decisions regarding: life, marriage, finances. I feet the presence of my dad listening and often assisting me with my decisions. A few weeks ago, I had a problem with the air conditioner, something called an ac actuator. I literally called everywhere. I called Subaru Co. in New Jersey, their expert though kind and courteous, knew nothing but that the part was no longer available. During my lengthy search I contacted Mountain Tech Inc, which was heralded as Subaru experts. Its true! Its true! I spoke to this amazing girl, Kiersten, so very upbeat and positive and knowledgeable. They located the part. Every once in a while you run across a locally-owned business that is just outstanding. I was looking around for a repair shop for my old Subaru Loyale and ended up purchasing a used Forester from them. Mountain Tec is a second-generation Subaru-only repair shop. The customer service we received was great. They were honest, no pressure, knowledgable, considerate. This is a business that cares about their customers, loves Subarus, and is in it for the long haul. I just wish they were in Eugene instead of Oregon City!
