All I can say is good luck to you if youre planning to do business here. I have spent tons of money here over the years. Products are always great, price is reasonable, but the service is typically some of the worst youll find anywhere. If youre spending a bunch of money, the staff will fight over you & treat you like a king. If you need to come back later for a couple of cushions, they could care less & dont want to be bothered by you. Its all about the commission here folks. Not a lot of choices nearby for this type of product, so they tend to get away with this horrible customer service. My advice... Its going to cost you more, but if you want excellent service & the best products, head on over to the competition at 103rd & Metcalf. Theyve always been great!

Worst shopping experience of my entire 42 year life so far. Please reconsider buying pools from this establishment. They are just in it for your money. The GM has yet to reach out to me to come to some sort of resolve for all the issues I have had with this DIY pool install. Directions and videos are all inaccurate and several parts were missing or would not fit correctly. I would shop around before getting taken from Family Leisure!

Strongly recommend if you want customer service stay away from this place. Unfortunately I drove 40 minutes to give them a chance to sell me a hot tub. Im recovering from Cancer and really needed a tub. I really wanted a swim spa but just couldnt get a concrete pad and electric done for a reasonable price so Ive started looking for a spa and a pool. I came in this store with 10k in cash and was treated like I couldnt afford one and it was not priority to get me one ASAP. We asked if they were caught up and was told yes but when it comes to it they arent caught up and have nothing in stock. I mentioned that I priced a few other places but saw the commercial and wanted to come check them out. I was told that basically nobody can get me one and they are the only one that has products like them. I thought it was Very bad business practices to talk bad about other businesses. So they lost a sale of a spa and a pool. I figure they just lost 20-25k sale from me. Support your local family owned and operated businesses this one definitely has a corporate mentality and can afford to lose a sale that big. I I ended up getting a tub bought today and will be installed in a week. Thanks family leisure for letting me go.

Ordered a spa cover the first of June and was told back order would take 12 to 16 weeks. Cover arrived at the store right at the 12 week mark. Borrowed my sons pickup to make the 50 mile trek to pick it up. The warehouse loaded the wrong size cover which I discovered after I got it home. So.....being a little miffed, I called the store and they were very apologetic. Another 50 mile trip back and the proper spa cover was loaded up. The store manager gave me a substantial store credit to purchase what ever I wanted in the store. I felt like my inconvenience of driving an extra 100 miles and lost time were taken care of. The service dept. has also supplied me with cover holder parts from the manufacture near the end of the 5 year warranty on the holder. I have had several questions answered to my satisfaction by the service dept. over the phone as well. All in all, my experience with Family Leisure has been good.

Purchased a fairly expensive set of outdoor dining furniture. Paid $99 for White Glove delivery. Explained that we needed a call to finalize delivery time, etc., prior to actually arriving due to work schedules. Appt set for afternoon. I came home to find furniture sitting in my garage. Delivery people apparently called and when no one answered, took it upon themselves to show up. My wife was leading a call and could not deal with the situation so just told them to put it in the garage for the time being.After realizing what had happened, I called the delivery manager. His stance was too bad. For another $45 we will come out and move it to where it was supposed to have been delivered in the first place.Of course the curb side delivery (which is what we received) was supposed to be at no charge.Really poor customer service after the sale.

BUYER BEWARE! Go somewhere else!! We bought a pool package and bought the gold upgrade package, and twice they tried to push off lesser quality parts, and we got screwed out of our filter upgrade. I would NEVER, EVER recommend Family Leisure to anyone!! Take your hard earned money elsewhere!

They might be a little over priced, but you get what you pay for . Their staff is alway very courteous & helpful. The parts manager is very knowledgeable & polite. Prices were great through out the store and we had Vicki J. for our sales associate and she was very knowledgeable and helpful with both items. Would recommend everyone to give them a visit. Went to shop for patio furniture and was told the set we wanted would take 6-8 weeks to come in. Passed up on in-stock furniture despite not being super happy with the 6-8 week wait as it seemed the other furniture would be of a better quality. Expected arrival timeframe came and went and after I called them I was told my expected ship date from the manufacturer was 6/21. If that is the ship date then who knows when I will actually have the furniture on my patio. I had specifically asked about a delivery date when in the showroom because of a previous issue with a shipped item being delayed due to COVID and was told that after a check in the system that Mid-May would be when it arrived. Feel like I was lied to and after spending thousands of dollars I still have no patio furniture.

If I could give ZERO stars, I would. We purchased our spa From Family Leisure a couple of years ago and were very happy with the salesperson who helped us select the right one to fit our needs. However, last year we started having trouble with the heater not coming on. As our spa was under warranty, we called and spoke with the service manager about the heating issue and a problem with the display lighting not working correctly. We followed his directions and reset the system. This fixed the issue for several months. In November, it happened again. We called again and were told how backed up they were. We reluctantly scheduled for Tuesday the following week. Unfortunately, no one called and or showed. We did another reset and let it go until yesterday when we had the same issue once again. I called the service department to finally have our issue fixed for good. This time they were more than happy to tell me that my spas warranty had expired a just a couple of weeks ago. I was then told that he was the service technician, and he could be on site the following day. He also stated that since this has been an ongoing issue, he would waive the service call, as he was going to be in the area anyway. He went on to explain how we would still owe for parts and labor and I agreed to his proposition. However, I did find it odd that we could get service so quickly, now that our spa was out of warranty. Today I received a call to verify that they would have their service technician out this afternoon. This time, I was told that there would be a charge for the service call and that they needed payment from me before anyone would even look at it. When I explained an agreement was made to wave the service call with their technician the day prior, the gentleman became agitated and rude stating there were no notes in their system about prior troubles. After giving him a few dates, he then said they did have some staffing problems and system notes were an issue. After all of that, he still refused to honor the agreement I had made with their technician the day prior. My point is that if your Spa is under warranty, dont expect them to be responsive. However, once the warranty runs out, they will be happy to take care of you after a $95 (pre-paid) service call with the hope of selling items that should have been taken care of during the warranty period. If you’re looking at spending 10k on a nice spa for your family, you should look elsewhere and avoid this place at all costs.

This place is a joke, their pool installer is rude, they don’t stand by their product, we spent several thousand dollars on a pool that popped in 3 weeks, we swam in it twice and hadn’t been in it for a week and a half because the back yards a mud pit.AVOID AT ALL COST!!!

The family leisure staff and store does a great job, but if you use their installers for anything expect zero communication. They will not allow you to talk to them and you will have no clue when or if they will show up to work. Your left in the dark. I would rather have them say it will be 6 months so i could do the job myself or hire someone else. Bad customer service.

We recently purchased a hot tub and while every other store in KC we went to told us that delivery would be 6-10 months out. Family Leisure was able to get the model we wanted and installed in less than 45 days. We had some simple issues but they were handled professionally and expediently. Thanks to Dennis in sales and Walter in Tech you guys made the whole process hassle free. Would recommend Family Leisure to anyone.

Our sales person, Harold, was wonderful. He explained the process of purchasing our pool, the delivery process, and our responsibilities prior to installation. Our pool was delivered as promised on June 3 and we were told we were put on the installation list. Installation would be in 4-5 weeks. My husband called last week and spoke with the installation manager, Walt. Walt told us to call after we had all of our permits and he would get us on the list. What? We were told we would be on the installation list list at the time our pool was delivered which was a month ago. Today, we called Walt and told him we have all of our permits. We were told we would probably get a call on Sunday, July 12 and installation would be 2-3 weeks after that. So, now we are looking at sometime in August. Summer will be over before this pool is installed. Very disappointing since we were expecting the installation at least by mid-July based on what we were told when the pool was purchased. The sales people need to communicate with the installation team and get on the same page before they make promises to their customers. We will probably not do business with Family Pleasure anymore based on this experience.

Purchased a hot tub. Have since had it installed and visited/called numerous times for water testing, chemical purchases, and questions. Everyone has been great. Pricing for most chemicals are the same or better than Amazon plus the added benefit of knowledgeable staff to help you decide on it. My only suggestion would be to find owners manuals that match up to the Tropic Seas spas better than the generic one supplied. I went and found one on Artesians site that is much better with the same control unit and options as mine.

We purchased a 30 pool in late September 2019 and had it installed a couple weeks later in October. The sales staff was very helpful and the installation went smoothly. Because we didnt open the pool until 7 months after installation, we realized we were missing a couple small things and Family Leisure never hesitated to get us whatever we needed. I even had questions on how to put the filter together and someone in service took the time to take and send me photos of the filters on site. We upgraded to the Perma Salt system and our pool has been so easy to maintain and is always crystal clear. We love our pool!

We bought a 33 pool.The filter we were supposed to get in an upgraded package was not held back for us. So were given one that been used for a display or something . It was missing parts. We requested a new and were given excuses as to why they did not have one for us. Customer service once you buy is not very good at all. We called force days with no call back, so we drove down here once again. They said yeah, its just been real busy.....so you cant call your customer back?? We just picked up another filter, its also a display because 2 weeks later they still do not have the one we paid for. On the phone one sales guy offered us a store credit, today nothing now that were here. What a mess.

Had pool installed 6 or 7 years ago... everything seemed fine until we had to put a new liner in (winter ice messed everything up). Bought a liner I liked that they didnt have. Called to see how much it would be to have them install. Guy answered to me came off rude, we do not install unless you buy from us. OK? Dont you want money? Lol well we had someone who knew how to do it. Got it all in just fine. Went to put tops back on. They are not even installed evenly. The brackets that hold the sides up are so unevenly spaced you cant get all the tops on without either drilling new holes or moving them all around to hopefully find a match. Bad experience and Ive had many people have the same issues with being rude and not being installed properly. Dont seem willing to help even when people would be PAYING THEM MONEY to do so.

My whole family feels a little cheated. We had to cancel my children’s birthday party since the pool is now a month late on the install. We purchased a pool on May 6th and were promised 4-6 weeks on install. We’ve had 7 tons of sand sitting in our driveway for over a week now. The install company is saying it’s now 7/28 for install and were not confident on the follow through. If they do install it by then it will be a 12 week wait. We’ve lost most of the entire summer. The communication from Family Leisure has been minimal. We only hear from them when we call, they never initiate. Very disappointed.

I purchased my pool may 14th sales guy said 4 to 5 weeks on installation & I should hear from them by 3rd week. I called today to check on a date guy in service told me the end of July so an extra 4 weeks so I asked to speak to sales manager he was in a meeting so I left a message on his machine hours went by no call back so I called again spoke to the sales manager he was very rude cut me off in mid conversation to tell me weather permitted which I understand but 4 weeks extra really? So then he said I needed to speak to Walt the service manager but he was busy to give him an hour and call back which I did, Walt was very nice and said Id actually be looking at 1st week of July which is a little better but I bought this pool for more then leisure Im currently going through chemo and wanted it to help with my body pain by time my pools ready Ill be about done with treatment. After today I would definitely not recommend this company

We purchased a spa and were extremely happy with the salesperson we dealt with. Although now that we are having ongoing issues with our spa and need service we are having a hard time getting assistance. If you are planning to purchase anything from Family Leisure I would do your research and make sure that there is someone else in the area who will be able to service your product under warranty as they cannot be relied on. Our spa is less than a year old and we have had to have numerous service calls.

Visited the store. Salesman were helpful but not pushy at all. They let me look around for a long time and never “bothered” me. I purchased a massage chair less than a week before Christmas. They delivered it on the morning of Christmas Eve, carried it in, set it up, and was able to surprise my spouse that evening! :) Salesman was helpful, delivery guys were courteous and respectful. I stopped in here back in May, to get information and have a saltwater pool installed at my house. I knew when I left home that I would be paying a couple thousand dollars. I did not go with this business. I actually left upset and in tears.The staff are prejudice. White couple walked in before us, and were greeted, we were not and that is okay. We decided to check out the floaties. Another couple walked in after us, they were also greeted, staff walked right up to them and asked if they needed any help. I stood by the desk to ask for help and was asked to wait until this couple was done first, also fine but after almost 10 min of waiting while they asked their questions I finally spoke up and said can you please call someone to come help me check out for a pool . Here is where things got prejudice. He never made the call. We waited another 5 min then decided to walk around the store. We walked back by the arcade and noticed half the staff on the floor watching us, still noone came over to help us. We made it to over by the pool walls, still no help. Walked up to the same man, who has now helped 4 couples with questions (none of which bought a pool), for help again. He flagged down an elder white woman to come help us.She acted like we were wasting her time as I asked questions about leveling and storms etc. When I said Id take the pool, she backpedaled that theyre really booked up and it would be July before theyd get to us. I finally said forget it and we walked out.Weve tested your business since, I walked in with only my son, no greeting no help. Walk in with my WHITE husband a few hours later and instant greeting, and everyone wants to help him, so we walked right back out and took our business elsewhere.

If i could put ZERO stars, I would. We ordered our tub on March 27th. We were told that it would be received the first week in June. I called to get an update on the second week of June. Every employee that I spoke to was so RUDE. With COVID 19, we were disappointed that it was late, but were understanding. Come to find out, they didnt place our order! So, we had to wait until today to receive it. It felt like Christmas!! After delivering, we were checking it out... My deck was scratched and the bottom of the cabinet was busted!! They tried to jip us out of the starter pack of chemicals.. even though it was paid for... The whole entire experience from start to finish was HORRIBLE. If it wasnt for the warranty, I would have gone somewhere else. Super DISAPPOINTED!!

Paid for pool with install. Got left with filter sitting crooked, ladder not installed, and piles of dirt all the way around the pool. I understand you cant backfill until pool is full, but someone could come back and do it. They DONT tell you everything, they just want to make a sell. Pool purchased in April, installed in early June. A little longer than the wait they told us, but not bad. I will echo other reviews in that the salesman told me I was on the install list the day I picked up the pool, but only to find out later that I wasnt on any list until I forwarded my permits to Walt. I only found this out once I called and asked why I hadnt heard from an installer a couple of weeks after the purchase. As far as the pool itself, I rate it a full 5 stars. We have been swimming at least once a day every day. Kids are sleeping great at night! This COVID summer has been quite nice having our own oasis in the backyard.As far as dealing with Family Leisure I will say the sales staff is just that. Sales staff. Mark seems to be the most knowledgeable, if you have any real questions about the pools seek him out. But do your own research too. In reality they need to sell pools to make money so thats what they do. You get the pleasure of being the general contractor of your pool project for a reason. Family Leisure is there to supply you with the pool and its really up to you to make certain everything is done right. So get ready for a project if you buy a pool here. Its afterwards that you really figure out what kind of a mountain you are about to climb dealing with the city permitting, inspections, and the literal mountain of sand. (We were told 6 tons, and the installer used about 3.5 tons on the pool. So we had 2.5 tons of extra sand sitting in our driveway for a couple of months until I could figure out what to do with it. All in all I understand its better to have two much sand than not enough, but almost double is a little extreme. Also if your yard is as sloped as mine you will end up with a mountain of dirt too, which means a bobcat rental to level out.)As far as being your own general contractor Family Leisure will provide you with an installer, you will find your own electrician, also pull your own permits for the pool, electricity, fencing, deck; electrical bonding of the water, pool wall, motor etc.; YOU will be responsible for all of this since YOU are the contractor for your pool listed with the city; and YOU will own the liability for anything not done right. Im not saying beware, just be aware!As far as the filter we bought the permasalt system. Its not really a saltwater system other than you pour some salt in the pool to help with electrolysis. Its a copper ion system that adds copper to the water which kills algae. My recommendation is to spend your money on a nicer raft and skip the permasalt. The chemicals are quite pricey compared to chlorine, and the copper turns my daughters hair green. We follow the instructions to a T and still have water bugs and an algae ring. I ended up having to buy a summers worth of chlorine to supplement the permasalt system and when we do, all of our problems go away over night. You can buy a very similar looking system on Amazon for a lot cheaper if you really want a copper ionizer (and by similar I mean they say the chambers are interchangeable between the two systems and everything looks exactly the same less the color of the faceplate on the controller.), but for me once our copper chamber is up we are just going to save the money and maintain a clean, bug free, sterile pool with chlorine ; which Walmart sells under their HTH brand for next to nothing.Our pool was installed by a third party, Zapien Installation. This was a husband and wife duo, they were awesome and I plan on just contacting them directly in the future for any major maintenance that needs done, liner replacement etc. You should request them if you can, just real good down to earth people!To be fair with Family Leisure I dont think they anticipated this many sales this year, and got in over their heads. Personally I think they should consider offering a little money back to those of you having to wait until October or later after being told 3-4 weeks to install. We feel really lucky to finally be wrapping this all up.

We had a pool installed last fall that was a nightmare from the start. Installation process was our first issue and it left us with a pool not built correctly. After SEVERAL attempts at getting this resolved personally going up to the store on numerous occasions,calling(manager is never in), emails (never respond), messaging Facebook. What gives!? Im irritated at this point and hopefully this review will get someones attention so we can enjoy our pool this summer.At this point I would NOT recommend this company!

My friends and I stopped in at Family Leisure to look around since we have never been there. I wanted to look at the pool tables as I have been shopping around. The variety they have is great. They have everything from traditional, modern to rustic and even have matching shuffleboards. The sales staff seemed really friendly as well as the guys stocking the floor from the warehouse. When I am ready to purchase my pool table I will definitely be going back

Thoroughly impressed with the customer service we received at Family Leisure.We went in to purchase outdoor furniture and a BBQ grill to bring home with us. The warehouse man was awesome in helping us load and secure the furniture in our truck and was especially careful with the marble table tops.We have been doing business with Family Leisure for several years and have to say the quality of the products is far superior than what we have purchased elsewhere. It is well worth the investment.Will definitely continue to do business with Family Leisure.

FORCED TO PAY MORE AT THE INSTALLATIONBought a pool in March 2019 I know there has been a lot of rain but I finally had a family leisure company come out and install it the other day. I just want to warn people that the company hired by Family Leisure came out and started to dig out the hole for the pool and encountered a stump that was located right on the edge of the white circle that he painted on the grass, my choices were hire someone to dig out the stump that was already below the surface of the top soil or pay him 180.00 dollars to move his circle maybe one foot. Here’s the bigger catch if I didn’t pay him the money he was going to leave and come back another day after he does the pools currently on his list. Remember I bought the pool in March and the company tired to install the pool a few weeks ago but claim the knocked on my door and I didn’t answer. We own two little yapping dog that go crazy when someone comes to the door and they claim they did. Personally I don’t buy it I thing someone wanted a day off
