Strange operation refused to give me a bill of sale on merchandise. Claim sales tax on workout equipment is 2.5 percent higher than any other tax in the state. After initial visit changed prices on me three times before delivery. Equipment is NordicTrack. Great stuff. Just buy it some place else

We had a great experience with our salesperson BJ. He genuinely took the time to listen and then recommend what treadmill he thought would fit our lifestyle. He was very knowledgeable about the products, has a very pleasant personality and provided us with great customer service. Anytime I also emailed him and asked him a question he answered back promptly. I would highly recommend visiting Johnson Fitness & Wellness and asking for BJ. We will definitely be repeat customers when the times comes again.

These folks, Rusty in particular was very helpful. I knew I wanted a Bowflex Max Trainer but wasnt sure which series. Rusty answered my questions on the phone and gave me a competitive price. Rusty, literally lives up to his name. Lack of customer consideration.Confrontational phone manner.Over past 15 years, have purchased many items from here with other staffers who afforded personalized attention and industry professionalism.Could not recommend at this time.

About seven months ago we bought a Synca 1100 massage chair. We love the chair! We are so pleased with our purchase. We were skeptical at first but our salesman Rusty in the Northbrook Illinois store was tremendous never pressured us like so many salesmen. We did come back three times before we purchased it and Rusty was always great. He explained all the features and why the chair was superior quality when compared with other chairs.I must also add that we inadvertently put the child lock on and had no idea how to get it off. I contacted Johnson fitness online and they got back to me within five minutes, told me what to do and problem solved.Great customer service!

We bought everything from BJ Thomas: treadmill, home gym, stationary bike, and smaller items. Were extremely happy about BJ and his service, very professional and courteous. We also compared their price to the online price, they are not higher at all! Why purchase from online or big stores, while you can get good service, good price and also support a local business!

Dealing with Will on the phone was a pleasure. He explained everything I asked and was very professional and unhurried. I got a very fair deal on a trade-in of a different machine against the price of the new one I bought. The delivery guys were excellent; on time and cleaned up after themselves. The machine itself gets a workout from me at least four-five times per week. I just love it. I would do this entire transaction again the exact same way I did it the first time, thats how satisfied I am!

Extremely disappointed, although weve had a good experience at Second Wind, Algonquin in the past. Northbrook misrepresented a piece, delivered something dirty, scratched and missing a part. I received a ridiculous condescending message about the problem after I called. I called the corporate office and a pleasant woman gave me the name and number of the regional rep who never bothered to contact me. The only honest guys were the delivery men.contact meAnd I was never contacted, or no one left me a message.

I went here to purchase an elliptical. The salesman was very patient and helpful with me as I tried out several different options. He went over the pros and cons of each one and did not pressure or push more expensive options that I didnt need. Delivery was on time and they set up my elliptical and removed my old one (which I traded in as part of the deal). I am a very satisfied customer.

We bought an elliptical from 2nd Wind about a month ago and have had a great experience so far. Buying it was great because the salesperson, Will, tried to help us find the best elliptical for us, not just the most expensive one in the store. It was delivered, and we couldnt believe the delivery guys carried it down our oddly-shaped stairs, especially with how heavy it was. The machine itself is really great, sturdy, and exactly what we were looking for.

We went in looking for a bow flex try limber and William gave us informed details about that and then sold us a better model for LESS money. Great product and excellent customer service. Would go back again for more equipment.

I am a middle aged women with chronic hip and neck pain. Years ago, I bought a treadmill from second wind at the Northbrook store. I was so happy with the sales person, I think his name was Will, he was so knowledgeable on all of his inventory. Well, after a few years have passed, it was getting increasingly difficult to continue because of my hip pain so he suggested I try a stationary bike. He said it would have less impact on my hip. He was right about that! I love my new bike. Its easy to use and is great to get some exercise in while watching television. Thanks Second Wind! Thanks too to Will for all his help.

I purchased power blocks & pull up bar from 2nd wind northbrook location. I was explained by experienced professional that how to use the device and received quick consultation for individual workout routine/tips. I would definitely recommend this location to anyone who is looking for exercise equipment in near future. No word can describe how much these guys know and they are willing to work/consult with customer. Just pay a visit and you will see the difference from ordinary exercise equipment store.

Our experience started off great. We worked with BJ and bought a floor model treadmill. He was very knowledgeable and willing to help. He taught us a lot about the treadmill and was there with us until the treadmill was delivered. That all changed when we decided we wanted to return the treadmill. BJ made it very clear that we had a 30 day return policy, and there would be no repercussions if we decided the treadmill was not for us. After having it for 2 weeks, we realized that this was not the right fit for us. When we called BJ to let him know we would like to return it, his tone completely changed. He was no longer the nice salesman we met in the store. He was pushy, tried to have us trade the treadmill in for a lesser version of the one we bought (we were returning it because the poor shocks hurt our feet, a lesser version would not be a better choice), and was very rude that we changed our minds. After having to hang up to think about it and call him back, we told him our minds were made up and and we set up a date for the treadmill to be picked up. We were told we would see a refund within 10 business days. Today marked 3 weeks of the return, and we still did not see the money back in our account. When we called the store, we spoke with another gentleman, and were very rudely told that we have to give our credit card number or we will not receive the refund. BJ was perfectly happy letting us just wait it out until we called and asked where our money us, instead of relaying to us we have to provide our credit card number. While I understand returns can be frustrating for the sales person because they work on commission, there was absolutely no reason for them to be as rude to us as they were when we changed our minds. They never know when we will need another piece of exercise equipment, but they can be certain we will not be returning to this store. What started as a very positive experience, ended as a very negative one, and we are very disappointed. As someone who works in sales, I for one can say my team and myself would never treat a customer who had a cancellation or return in this way. You should not pick and choose when to be nice to someone, it should be through the whole sales process.

Be careful when trading in equipment. The store doesnt make it clear that their trade-in values are subject to manager approval. After supplying photos and a full description we were quoted a value by our sale rep. When we finally received a check from 2nd Wind, it was for less than 1/2 the quoted amount. Typical bait and switch.

Dishonest. Quoted me one price for a brand new treadmill over the phone and failed to honor this price and claimed something that directly contradicted our original conversation as an excuse. Dont waste your time dealing with them order from a reliable vendor online.

I wish I could give this franchise a lower rating than 1 star. I have never dealt with a more unprofessional, condescending business owner. They made a mistake in a response to my email request to sell a used piece of equipment and did not honor the offer that I have in writing. Instead they backed out, told me to pick up my useless equipment and they did me a favor by disposing of it. When I pointed out that is was their mistake in the first place the owner sent me a very condescending, unprofessional email. My advice is to stay away and shop elsewhere, they are not worth your time or money.
