Great place to find interesting things. Me and my dad found an old Panasonic boom box from the 1980s turns out it’s worth over $400s now. Highly recommended you to go to here if your looking for something rare because we found even more things since then. Not to mention the staff is very friendly and the prices are nice too. The old boom box was like $5 AND it works very well and so are the other things we found there.

Im not happy with this location...the people handling the carts were letting certain regulars get 1st dibs on EVERY new cart that came out. There was even someone waiting by the door for guitars that were coming out that he was apparantly informed of beforehand and was able to get them 1st...they pick and choose when to ring the bell. If the regulars are waiting for the new stuff and not around..they ring it...if theyre standing there waiting.. they dont ring it.People were not happy and shaking their heads because its very unfair to not have a chance at the new stuff.

Treasure hunting in this store is always time well spent. Theres not a lot of mens clothing, and that may be my only complaint. I used to score hard to find PC and electronics components from their computer store located on the opposite side of the complex. Needless to say, the prices are more than reasonable.

Its a typical Goodwill. I was a bit frustrated in the lack of labeling for price. For example, I looked at their books. There was no sign stating specific books were a specific cost. I saw no book with a sticker with a price. I went to the register to ask how they were priced and was told they were all the same price. I asked if that was the case with all sizes. I was told that was correct. So I found a few books and went to pay. The first question out if the cashiers mouth was doi you have any childrens books. I asked why, I thought they were all the same price. She said no. This was THE SAME girl. This was maybe 5 minutes prior to checking out. I felt like she could have just made up whatever price she felt like giving me. I did not appreciate that moment.

I shop at 4 Goodwill locations on a weekly basis. I went to the Rivers Ave location and picked out 6 large plates and 6 small plates and a cart full of other products. I received the receipt only toreallize they charge the same price for the small plates as the large plates. I replied thats too much and would like a refund or exchange. The guy at the next cash register asks me to come over only to ppint out All Sales are Final on the bottom of the receipt. Really? Im literally still standing in line. I feel I was duped and this is horrible customer service. Its not about the $6, its the principal. I do NOT want the overpriced used plates. I would gladly pick something else out. I called the Palmetto Goodwill headquarters to speak to someone but noone ever returned my call. I am very disappointed and will NEVER shop at the Rivers Avenue location ever again. Im sticking with the knowledgable staff and friendly staff at Mt Pleasant and JAmes Island.

I come here very often but they always have a new supply of goods to peruse. That also means that a shopper might not want to expect to be able to come back and buy something they saw on their last trip there. The staff is usually friendly and helpful, and the prices are what is to be expected of a goodwill.

Apparently they keep the good stuff in the back. When I went in there was a group of people waiting at the warehouse doors. None of the staff indicated what was going or even bothered to ask if they could help. Then about 15 minutes later a guy comes out of the back and asks everyone in the group to pick numbers and they could pick one thing off the cart when their number was drawn.

I bought used computer here a few months ago. All their towers were priced at $150; Pick a tower, monitor, keyboard, and mouse. All the computer towers there are flashed and have a new operating system installed on it so it runs like new. My review is in regards to the outlet store on Rivers. I visited the store on a Monday morning, drove in from out of town for it. There was a good selection of items, I really expected it to be cleaner than my local Goodwill Outlet, no such luck. Overall, it was worth the trip. Watch out for other shoppers though, theyre insane! After rolling new bins out everyone crowded around and literally just started grabbing handfuls of clothes and shoes, throwing them into their carts..I was nearly taken out by a pair of rogue Steve Maden wedges...I can only imagine how many quality items were damaged in the chaos of it all. The employees werent the most friendly either, but with shoppers like the ones I encountered, I can understand why. A poor employee had to break up an argument between two shoppers while I was there. Apparently it wasnt the first time as the employee mentioned that he didnt know what their problem was but they needed to get themselves in check as he was tired of their drama. Yall are the only two I have problems with here!

Not your typical shop!! The CLEARANCE CENTER has tables piled with random clothing, others piled with housewares, and some with books. These are all sold by the pound. Clothing has its own price per pound, as do books and housewares. Keep them separated, if you can. I love it because if you have time to look, youre going to get amazing deals!!If youre not this adventurous or dont have the time, head NEXT DOOR to the regular Goodwill store.

There are three goodwill store as well as the corporate office behind the three stores on this property. The three stores are as follows, a typical thrift/retail store, beside it, a bulk, pay-by-weight store, and beside that store is the goodwill computer store. My rating and experience is for the computer store where used computer items are sold. Great store for getting what you need for cheap.

Seriously, the GOOD STUFF is in the clearance center!!! I was visiting from Philly and decided to do a little thrifting. The Goodwill store itself was overpriced in its knickknacks, and I wasnt finding anything that I liked. I noticed a sign outside right next door that said Clearance Center, and asked an associate what it was all about because we dont have these centers in Philly. You have to dig, but its sooo worth it. The clothes are sold by weight and you can get some really good finds in there!

Sh
Review №76

This clearance center is a joke if you have small kids and no stroller! Huge 2 seater strollers are allowed but not carts from the retail store? Seriously?!!! Some stollers are twice as big as the shopping carts and yet the shopping carts aren’t allowed because there’s no room. I took my son who is 19months old in there and we didn’t have a stroller because we were just visiting at the time! He got away from me and yes I was watching him ran out the door because it was wide open and no way to close it, took a step off the curb and fell face first on the pavement in the parking lot. He had a big scrape and bruise on his head as well as his elbow. All the goodwill worker that day said was “good luck next time buddy!” If we were allowed carts to those with babies this wouldn’t of happened. I love the prices don’t get me wrong but there needs to be a better way if handling these kinds of situations and the workers need to be a lot more respectful as well!
