We need more retro gaming stores in ct!! went here with my boyfriend and we enjoyed taking our time poking around for new old games :~) prices are about on par with what you would see on ebay, but you cant beat the experience of getting to go to a store, actually handle the media, speaking with the staff about games, and seeing what unique items they have stocked! we both left with a couple games and my boyfriend pointed out to me how he had seen the cashier wipe off the pins of his n64 game with a little rubbing alcohol to make sure it was clean for him before sending us home with it. its the small things! will definitely be returning in the future.

Ever since I found this place I come a lot! Every person on the staff is very welcoming and understanding, I haven’t had an issue with a single one on any of my visits. Though they get new games and stuff pretty slowly, it’s a nice place to check back into after a few weeks or so! I’ve bought both systems and games here and never had a problem, their display cases are where youll really find the games worthwhile ✨thank you to the staff for being exactly the way you are ! ‼️‼️‼️

This place is great you can get a good game for under 10 bucks and you could get classic games or new one for a Xbox one or PS4 the staff knows about the games and are really helpful definitely recommend going

I like this store! Good service, huge selection of all genres of consoles. Laser disc, vhs, blu rays, and a ton more. Its 40 minutes from me, but if its something specific I am looking for I will take the ride here. Done with gamestop for looking for other venues to buy my games. Prices are pretty reasonable. Buy 2 get 1 free on games Last time I was there. You can buy sell and trade for cash or store credit. Best place to get retro games clean and grate deals / customer service

Ive been in there a few times to look at building my retro game collection (I have everything from Genesis to PS4) and I was astonished at the selection they have. Richard, who was working a couple of those times, was always quick to help and knowledgeable about what they have. He helped me find what I was looking for and more, even learned some intresting factoids that I had no idea about. 10/10 will return.

Amazing, amazing store. I went there yesterday, and I’ve been going to the store ever since the Newington location opened. I’ve never been disappointed there, and I always leave with a smile on my face because of the wonderful costumer service.Yesterday for example, the two employees at the front desk (I sadly never got their names, but they were both awesome and amazing) helped me with whatever I needed to do. Retro games plus is the go to for games, movies, figures, and cards. I’ve bought multiple amiibos, movies, and HUNDREDS of cards from this place. Everything I’ve purchased has been in good condition. Not only are the products good, but the staff in this place is amazing. I have never left this place with a question unanswered. They are knowledgeable and friendly. I’ve always loved this place. I’ve been going ever since it opened. But I went a couple of days ago, and it reminded me how amazing this place is. The staff are so friendly, so kind, very helpful, and very accommodating with their products. The prices are well priced, and they also have a huge selection of retro video games (biggest I’d say in the Hartford County). I highly recommend this place to anyone who is a gamer in general, even though it mainly sells retro video games, and retro consoles. I travel 25 minutes to get to this location, and it is totally worth the trip. Love this place, can’t say anything bad about it.

I like this store. The staff is knowledgeable and the store is bright with an open layout.The only thing I don’t like is their return policy. If you buy something from them and it doesn’t work, you should be able to get your money back. Instead you just get store credit.

A complete joke. I went to sell some games. He wanted to cherry pick the good stuff and leave the bulk. This is not a solid business model. If I wanted to just get rid of the good stuff Id sell for full price on amazon or Ebay.

I love exploring the shelves here, I usually find a good deal. Always a great selection. Had an issue with a purchase that didnt work but the staff were quick to help. Prices are the best youll find in a retail store of this kind, about the same as online. They host trade nights periodically, which are a ton of fun and you get to meet a lot of cool people.

And RG does the same by following the new tradition. But they offer surprisingly great deals.Far better and more personal than Game Stop by far.

There arent many places like this in the area, so when I stopped by Retro Games Plus, I was pleasantly surprised. They have a great selection of Nintendo and Sega games along with all sorts of other retro consoles, and they even have a lot of games for newer consoles. While Im not a toy collector, they have a really nice selection of action figures and collectibles as well. The staff is super friendly and most importantly, the prices are really good!If youre from the area, and even if you arent, Retro Games Plus is worth a visit!

If you’re going on a video game safari, this should be the first place that you stop. They have such a unique selection. When I was rebuilding my sega collection, I was able to find a lot of left of center games that I never knew existed. Pretty cool place.

We purchased New in Box ps3 Wireless Controllers 🎮🎮 but we were unable to get them work or hold a charge, we finally brought them back and they tried to get them to work and when the 🎮🎮 didnt work they gave us replacements no problems 😊

Went to GameStop today looking to buy a Wii system. They told me good luck finding anything since the system is so old and if you do it will probably be really expensive since its a collectors item. On the verge of giving up I Googled video game stores and came across this place. I walked in and asked if he had a Wii system and sure enough he had at least 4 consoles. For 50 bucks I got the console which looks to be in good condition, all the wires and adapters, a controller and the bar. They also threw in Wii sports for 4 bucks. Obviously will have to test to make sure nothing is defective, but purchase experience alone is worth 5 stars!

We always go here to look for a game first, better prices than game stop. They dont always have everything but the prices are reasonable usually.

Today I travel almost a hour from Massachusetts to visit Retro Games Plus Connecticut. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable on all questions and concerns I had. I recently got into game consoles collecting. And today when I walked into the store I seen they have a 20% off everything in store. I came out with eleven game consoles. I purchased a gameboy color, gameboy advance, clasic original playstation, classic original xbox, a model 1 and 2 super Nintendos, sega genesis models 1,2 and 3. And Nintendo NES, Sega dreamcast. Each console purchase game with a $6.99 game or below included. I really enjoy the environment and how the costumer service was was spot on!. I do apologize for the employee that I didnt get to catch his name. But thank being very patient with me. And sorry i took up your whole counter space. But I do hope the owner will be very happy with you with making a whole lot of sales. And I hope to business with this store more in the future. Thank you!

Just came from the store and an employee offered to give me $35 for an unopened Wii min Red Mario Kart Bundle. I cant believe it! I told him that I know this can be sold for atleast $250.00 especially with it being a mario kart bundle. I told him ill just keep it and sell it online. Miss the days when the old staff like Zach was there. The old staff seem to actually care about making a deal with the customers. Unfortunately, I wont be returning to this store. The last three times I have tried to trade in valuable things, I have been denied. Me and my friends go here all the time, its honestly starting to suck all the money out of my wallet. We like to search the store for the worst video games and thanks to the low prices and the Buy 2 Get 1 Free deal, we have amassed a collection of the worst games imaginable. The people who work here are some of the most friendly people alive, even when they are super busy, they still seem to enjoy their jobs and are very willing to help you out when needed! They also have a lots and lost of great classic and old games as well, Ive picked up Silent Hill 3 and many other gems here. I plan on picking up some old video game consoles when I get some more cash, since they always have them at a reasonable price. Trade in deals are great as well, sometimes I dont get much but its understandable when you are trading in a Splinter Cell game that they already have 25 of. Also, the music in the store is great, whoever the DJ is, you got some great taste. If you love video games and want to pick up some old and new stuff at a fair price, check this place out!

I brought in my old TurboGrafx 16 system, games and accessories, then walked out with a Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 Tablet and a check for a whole bunch of cash.They were far more fair than I had expected. Nice guys, good deal. I Highly recommend.
