My Alan David suit and tuxedo are by far my best pieces! I am someone who has owned custom suits before (from two different companies). One company provided a decent fit and bad material, the other had good material and a decent fit. After experiencing Alan David, I can honestly say that this company is by far better than all of my previous suits! The experience was incredible as well! The shop is modern and neat. Really adds to the entire experience of picking my fabrics, styles and the measurements. Everyone was extremely professional and the a member of the team sat down with me to hear about what I was looking for with regards to fabrics and details in my suit and wedding tuxedo. I thoroughly enjoyed working with the team to select my pieces. They were extremely professional, hospitable and knowledgable with regards to any of my questions. The whole process was a lot quicker than some of my previous suits that I received from other companies. My size is short and I can’t find anything off the rack in my size so been getting here for years.But this past visit I needed a custom tuxedo for my cousins wedding and Alan David did not disappoint. Between the sharp slim fit with the tapered slim look it looked and felt great. Every time I get a garment the process is smooth and the service also great. They even test it for shatnes at no extra charge. Ask for Alan you will be taken care of very well go see for yourself!

Alan David is a fantastic tailor--especially for their prices, you will not find better craftsmen working with better materials. Even when there was an issue getting my suit completed before a move overseas, they rushed the completion and made sure that, when I needed the sleeves buttonholed, that would be done at their expense. They have perfected the fitting process that no basted fitting was needed and only minor nips and tucks and the suits have been wonderful. You are paying for quality and the best fit in the city. Best service ever. They worked with me to create a tailored suit for my wedding. It fit perfectly. I tore my suit near the sleeve during the wedding, so I brought it back to see if they could fix it. I came in, they asked if I had five minutes, and after saying yes I walked out with my suit fixed like new, no extra charge.

Alan David made me a suit for my wedding. The suit was perfect and fit perfectly. It made me feel great on my wedding day. I have an athletic fit and I can virtually never find clothes that fit me--especially at the chest and through the legs. I wear restrictive clothing all the time that has wrinkles that mar the appearance of the clothes. Alan David nailed it--Ive never worn a more comfortable shirt and the pants were perfect. He is a true gentleman with an eye for detail that sets apart the clothing made here vs the other providers I looked into. His team are all professionals and will make you feel quite at home during your visit. I came in looking for a suit and subsequently purchased four suits along with numerous shirts and slacks. I am quite pleased with all of it. There are lots of choices so give your self enough time to review the numerous samples they have on site. The turnaround time is reasonable and can be reduced if need be.

These guys saved me for my wedding.I trusted one of those new suit companies, Indochino, for my wedding suit. I went with the “premium” option and got measured two months before my wedding.Three weeks later the suit was delivered and it was off in three key areas. I thought, no big deal, I have 5 weeks left, they’ll do an alteration and I’ll be fine.Two weeks later, three weeks before my wedding, the “altered” suit came back, and no changes had been made. So I started researching for rush order custom suits and Alan David came up. I called and the wonderful Elsie answered, and told me it was possible if I came in the next day.I did. And the process was seamless from start to finish. Within 2.5 weeks they got me the perfect suit via rush order. Cosmo primarily helped me. But the whole team was just amazing. The reviews are all correct. My experience with Alan David Custom Suits was excellent. My first appointment was to pick out the brand, the color of the fabric (dark blue) and proceed to get fitted. After my initial fitting, my custom suit was ready to be made. I was called in less than one month for my initial suit fitting. As with any bespoke suit, there were small alterations to be made. These alterations were adjusted within one week and I came back for my final fitting. Everything was perfect with the exception of a minor adjustment which was altered on the spot for me. Everyone I dealt with at Alan David was polite, professional and a pleasure to work with. I had especially a great time talking with David who by the way has made custom suits for former Heavyweight Champions of the world such as George Foreman and Mike Tyson, respectively. Finally, all I can say is that the finished product was amazing. I have received so many compliments on this suit, even in high profile situations where most attending have quality suits. My wife found Alan David on the internet and it was only a block and 1/2 from the Grand Hyatt Grand Central Station. Our first meeting was very warm and friendly. These folks really know their business of custom suits! Careful selection of suburb Italian material. Then at least one hour each making sure all the measurements were correct for both our body types. Second fitting fine tuned all the measurements. Shipping and packaging first class. My wife ordered two more suits and I ordered four custom shirts. Have not gotten the shirts yet, but looking forward to them coming our way. I will probably order at lease one more suit. Both my wife and I highly recommend Alan David for fine quality and GREAT service. Five star all the way! 90 years of doing this shows in all the fine people working there.

I got my custom suit made at Alan David and I couldnt be happier with the result!It was a light grey suit that I wore on my wedding in the Greek Islands and got so many compliments on it. The location and building say bargain and the folks there upon entry say hello, with warmth, and make one feel like family. the available fabrics are terrific, the advice most persuasive and later found to have been accurate, and the tailoring highly responsive to taste and fit. the construction takes awhile, but not slower than others and more responsive to ones needs. the outcome is fabulous serious comfortable great looking clothing. despite the cost, I do think the bottom line, all in, is a bit of a bargain.

Ive been getting suits made for years, and have tried many brands: Brooks Brothers, Burberry, Alfred Dunhill, J. Hilburn, Tom James and more. Not one of those brands comes close to the suits Alan and his team make.The fabric choices are great, and the tailoring is impeccable.I believe Alan David is the best suit house in the city.

Alan David is a 5 star establishment and I am a very tough grader. I purchased a suit, sport coat and 8 shirts. The fit on all is perfection! The selection and service were excellent. I recently got married in Italy and was under a time crunch to have a tuxedo custom made before leaving. I was referred to Alan David by a friend who had his suits custom made there. We had specific instructions on how we wanted the tuxedo for an old world Classic Italian wedding. Alan David made the entire tux and shirt with ample time for fitting and adjustments. Bibi is the best tailor that has ever worked on a custom fitting for me. Alan, the owner was so accommodating and nice. They dont push expensive product on you like the store front stores do and have decades of experience. They work with you on budget and styly. The staff was very attentive. Great Service! but the tuxedo was so elegant and fit perfectly. I am now going back to have them custom make my suits. I would highly recommend them. Top notch first class service and product at a reasonable price. I was very happy with the tuxedo and received many compliments in Italy on the style and fit.

Very happy with my blue suit from Alan David. Fits and looks great. This was my first experience here. Long time since I had a suit made and the last was from one of those entities where the sales person comes to your office. This suit is so much better and fits so much better. The folks at Alan David took a raft of measurements. Talk about accuracy when I went for the first fitting after the initial appointment the suit fit was awesome. The tailor insisted one of the sleeves was too long not that i noticed and adjustment was made accordingly. Second fitting all was great. I will definitely be back.

Great experience getting a tuxedo before a wedding. They made the conversation about custom very easy for me to follow. Took the time to remeasure at every fitting to ensure a great fit. I liked that they didnt up sell on accessories, as it was more cost effective to visit a chain store. Will be back

Bought two suits a few months ago for my 40th birthday. The entire process was great! I worked with Alan (the owner) and he answered all of my questions patiently and without any issues. I did not feel rushed during the entire process of choosing my fabrics and everything was explained. I went back for my fitting and when I received my suits in the mail everything fit perfectly! The reviews are correct, Alan David is absolutely the place to get a custom tux or suit. I had a black custom tux made for me last year that I planned to wear to my own wedding, and I loved it so much that I went back and had them make a midnight blue tux for the wedding. They know their craft, I was unsure of the material that I wanted for the midnight blue tux and it was tough to get a feel for what it would look like just as a piece of material on the table. They told me to trust them that this was what I wanted and sure enough it looked amazing. Tons of people asked me where I got the tux and remarked that it looked amazing. I thought the prices were fair, not insanely priced but also not cheap by any means. It is worth it to pay for the quality you get. I will be going back.

I went to ALAN DAVID due to the close proximity to Grand Central Station. What I found was a fantastic staff and quality workmanship. Do not be fooled by the lack of a. store front on the street-level. You will find sime of the finest tailored suits made in New York City at ALAN DAVID. If you are in the market for a custom made suit I cannot stress the quality of workmanship and customer service that you will find at this location.

Every detail of my experience was exquisitely cared for. I was waited on from the moment I walked through the door, through my entire shopping experience. I have been to many suit stores where the measuring was an arduous and tiresome experience, but Cosmo, Brian, and Jay were patient and worked efficiently to get the perfect fit. David sat down with me and went through all the fabrics, showing a deep knowledge about all the different designs. My suit came in a timely manner and the store followed up dedicatedly to make sure everything was to my liking. The fabric and fit was everything I was looking for and expecting.
