Excellent selection, best in the city! The staff was kind and patient while we made our choice. They were all very helpful in selecting the right shape, color, bands, and feather accessories. I would highly recommend visiting them. You won’t be disappointed! We will definitely visit next time we’re in NY!

This is my second time at the shop. The first time I did purchase. This time I hesitated and didn’t. My issue both times is they have a wide selection and are readily accessible but being such a small shop the staff is too and i mean too on top of you. It made me anxious.Granted very helpful but the commentary initially on every selection was disconcerting and unwarranted. Basic information was repeated on a loop. Relax.... i felt that I needed to purchase although it wasn’t 100% what I wanted. Something about the vibe just shut me down right before the purchase. Granted, the associate was gracious when at the register I ultimately declined.I agree some shops have personnel who couldn’t be bothered and this is the other extreme. So if you need help, info and appreciate excessive attention... then yes 5 stars

Great store! Highly recommend anyone looking for hats. They have many styles. Very knowledgeable and helpful staff that go out of their way to satisfy the customer. Love the quality of their products, haven’t found anything close to it anywhere. Definitely coming back here!

I have to confess I never been biggest fan of hats. But after walking into this amazing place with really friendly and professional staff who helped me to find one that would really suit me, I couldn’t leave empty handed. Honestly I was amazed of how much stuff they knew and how quickly they picked the one just for me! I would definitely recommend and I will be back! Thank you CITY HATS!

I came here intending to purchase a hat, and I found just what I was looking for. However, the service is a bit much and I really felt like I was being pushed into a sale. Some people might like that kind of service, but I felt overwhelmed by it.

The workers are all very helpful and nice! They also had many sizes. I was able to get a hat that fit me perfectly. I’m gonna recommend this store to my friends next time they ask about hats!!

I was told to wear a mask by an old lady (the owner) even though her employee wasn’t wearing one. Also the owner was rude and disrespectful. That not how you build the business. Pathetic! Poor selection of hats. 0/10

The selections are amazing at this place. At first I was kinda skeptical when I found this spot online but as soon as I arrived I was impressed. Mira, the girl In the front was incredible. She wasn’t trying to sell me but rather help me find exactly what I was looking for. After trying on several different hats I found the one I wanted. Mira was so sweet and wasn’t pushy at all. This place def stands behind their products and they just earned my loyalty. Will def shop here again.

Honestly my friends and I were looking forward to visiting the shop so much. Once we got in we tried some on and took pictures. The staff told us not to do that which was fine, but there was no sign posted as to not taking pictures. We respected her wishes and continued looking at hats, but then the staff told us to leave! We were not taking pictures. I feel disrespected and there are better options elsewhere...

I went in to the City Hats shop on Bleecker yesterday and immediately received help from the ladies at the counter. They were very friendly and informative and helped me find exactly what I was looking for. The prices were extremely reasonable and the selection was fantastic. Ive purchased hats from other shops in Manhattan, and comparatively, their prices are competitive and the quality is fantastic. The salespeople even let me choose my own feathers for the hat band and didnt charge any extra. Ill be going back not only for the great hats, but also for the service that was above and beyond.

This place has a really great selection of different brands, and has more unique hats to choose from than other stores I went to here in Manhattan. Also, the other stores I went to were mostly out of my size, (large, which is apparently common) but this store had plenty to choose from. The girl who helped me was really patient as I tried on a few dozen different hats, and she knew a lot about the materials, brands, and styles. I would highly recommend City Hats if you are looking for great service and a high quality, unique hat.

Lots of great looking hats for lots of different outfits!Lara helped me out with finding the right one for me, and so far she succeeded. She was great at helping me find a matching one that fits my mood/ outfit.The hats are kind of in the pricey side tho, but it’s because they were made internationally (basically not made from China), but they can help you out if you’re looking for something on the cheap side of things.Will definitely come back here for more hata

Im a hat person and I shop at multiple shops in tristate area and on the West coast as well. I love their collection and receptivity to clients needs. Good thing there are two City Hats shops because I have more chances to find something I love or the right size. My last purchase was a fedora, and they offered to bring my size from the other location because they just care, simple as that. I loved the experience and I love my hat. It fits me like a glove.

Love this hat shop. Lots of beautiful and unique hats. Some have it 4 stars probably based on price, but its NYC, so of course they have NYC prices. Was worth it for the great hat we got. However the shop we went to, February 2014, was on 47th and Lexington. I guess they moved.

I just had a very unpleasant experience there. A teenage kid who worked there would not let me shop, kept on asking could he help me. I told him I would let him know when I found something. Still, he kept on asking me, could he help me over and over. I asked him was he trying to rush me since it didnt seem like he really wanted to help. And when I asked him a question, and he answered, he proceeded to inquire how he could help me all over again. So I ignored him, he walks over to an older woman, who replaces him and starts to shadow me around the store, staring at me. So Im irritated, feeling racially profiled, amongst other things, and I confront her on it. She gets rude and starts being hostile. Then the owner joins in and told me to kiss-off. There was no attempt at smoothing the situation over even After I pointed out that the hat I was wearing and 4 of my most recent hats I bought from there, he says he doesnt need my business. He seemed pretty dicey. So I walked up to another store and purchased a hat there, but you can buy hats online where you dont have to deal with dicey people. AVOID THIS STORE the customer service is awful.

This is a great hat shop. They have a really good selection with reasonable prices, and a very knowledgeable, helpful, friendly staff. Their sister store a few blocks away on Bleeker is similar, with people who really know and care about hats, and a great selection. I had fun nerding out with them about hat materials, hearing about how they are producing their own lines now, and so on.

These are one of the best hat places in New York city.... the employees there are very helpful and dont just try to sale you anything... They help you style

They have a wide selections of hats. I thought I was lucky to find this place. The person who helped was really nice. However, there was a hat that I really wanted but I was convinced to get an item that wasnt my favorite. Maybe she thought i couldnt afford the one i wanted that suited me. I bought the suggested one hoping that it would grow on me. Fast forward a day later, I call to see if i can exchange this for the one i really wanted. They cant do it because THERE ARE NO RETURNS OR EXCHANGES, PERIOD. I learned a valuable lesson from City Hats: Dont trust anyones tastes or opinions but your own...and to ask about return policies. Its a shame that it cost me $36, though. If you can avoid this place for one with better customer policies.

Disappointed in return/exchange policy - while there is a small sign in the store advising that they do not accept returns, the sales person will not remind you of this - nor is this required by law. Efforts to contact customer service were futile and responses were slow and unhelpful.

If you are looking for a memorable and stellar customer service experience then definitely avoid this place. I was interested in purchasing several hats in my correct size but the inept individual (white female) who was there to assist with the process refused to be of service. I asked if there was a measuring tape available to measure my head for fit accuracy? The individual, responded “no, just try them on.” I literally had to pinch myself while eyeing the pink measuring tape that she had been provided with(for assumed fittings) sitting on the cash wrap. TO MANAGEMENT: if you are curious as to why productivity and sales are not on a incline, she is they reason why. #SendInTheReplacements TO CONSUMERS: buyer beware! Take your business to to Flamekeepers in Harlem or Goorin Brothers in Greenwich Village.

I found my signature hat in this store a couple years back. Its a beautiful, 100% wool Panizza hat. The price was fair given the quality, and the staff there definitely helped me navigate the different styles and find the perfect match for my head and taste! It looks amazing, keeps me warm and gets me so many compliments every time I wear it. Im planning to go back soon in hope to find another gem !

I am rarely so well attended, I visited the store on 10/29/2017 just to take a look but I ended up finding a really cool beret with the help of the seller who was very friendly, patient and helpful, I recommend the visit.
